Great live music by Mélange aka Hot Chick and Bald Guy Tasty tapas with very reasonable happy hour prices; we tried chicken skewers(nice and moist) with Thai peanut sauce, queso(flavorful but not really spicy) and chips, and bruschetta(best I’ve ever had).
Wide variety and some unique drinks at the bar; service a bit slow but bartender is friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent mojitos. Service started out a bit slow but improved and was just right once they started taking care of our group. The reno on the building(from when it was Martini Grill) gives the place a ton of natural light, even being open to an outdoor patio. We will return.

I brought my bestie, Michele, and she decided to sign up for Unilocal after meeting the other Unilocalers. It was a lovely group of folks, I really enjoyed getting«eyes on» each and every one! I also made a few new friends. I was telling Michele that the reason I like Unilocaling so much is that I’m talking/writing about places I actually go, and so for me, it’s just a really fun form of social media. Thank you Howie for giving us opportunities to meet and get to know eachother. I think that getting together is unique among social medias, and it enriches the experience 10 fold. Unilocal On!

This was an interesting to do. My first Unilocaly Hour. I really enjoyed seeing other people I’ve been following along the way. Since it was my first event, I have nothing to compare it to. It should be noted that I couldn’t make the full event and thought about letting someone know that I still really wanted to catch what I could, but that seemed odd. It’s a loose group of people checking in where & when they choose. Letting each other in on bits of our lives and sharing experiences one character at a time. Still social protocol would normally dictate a txt/call. How do you guys usually do it? Cosmo was busy and there was live music before it all ended. A well dressed crowd and soccer on the screens. I could spend some time there. The venue is a good one. I can’t help but think back to the building’s heydays of The Martini Grill. So many good times. Dancing salsa & swing while mixing with the most fun souls in the Abq. Great times! I like the idea of what it’s become, but all things considered the experience just wasn’t there. I do think it deserves another shot someday. Maybe catching an actual Happy Hour and if that goes well, pulling a table. When the experience is amazing, you hardly notice dropping almost $ 20 bucks on two drinks. Last night, I noticed. I learned a bit about my fellow Unilocalers and that’s a great thing. Big thanks to them all for being so welcoming.

A decent Unilocal event, this one was markedly different from past events. In the past, we’ve been quite spoiled with food and drinks and pretty much been made to feel like celebrities. This one though was a bit of a departure from that. There weren’t the same goodies to nibble on, no staff bending over backwards to leave us with a great impression of the host establishment, and no games or other Unilocal community events. It really just felt like an event at which a bunch of Unilocalers happened to show up. Now, it wasn’t all bad as we did get happy hour pricing on drinks and food and the live music and spacious setting with a pleasant breeze coming from the outdoor patio really created an ideal early summer vibe. It was certainly a hint at what a post-work happy hour could be in Albuquerque: classy, fun, and reasonably priced. For this I am gracious. Still, if I could recommend some changes for future Unilocal events here I’d suggest that we at least get to nibble on a wide variety of things and if that can’t happen then make the happy hour option much more varied than the queso, olives and almonds, and bruschetta available to Unilocalers. Also, I felt today that as Unilocalers we were more in the owner’s crosshairs to be thrown out than to be accommodated, so maybe certain places don’t really deserve to have the Unilocal endorsement. Anyways, I was glad to check this place out finally and will return because there are things that show promise, but based on tonight’s event I still feel like I haven’t gotten the full picture here.
