Living in the other side of town, I had never had a need to be here before. The store was clean but felt very old and dated. It could really use a facelift. The cashier wasn’t the most pleasant either.

Desperately needed a grocery store. A girl can’t get by for too long without the mundane tasks of buying meal items, paper plates, and boring what nots so it seems. I was kind of embarrassed to ask the locals, ‘Where’s a Hy-Vee?” I had already scoped out every Walgreens. So, I took off on Montgomery Blvd, and typed in grocery store in my Garmin, and this Albertson’s popped up. So that is going to be my grocery store while I am here in Albuquerque. Click, save location. It’s in a good location, and the clientelle are fine. I did notice a couple of flaws, making this not a 5 star Hy-Vee. The floor needed to be mopped, and maybe even shined. It has a dull, dirty grey substance that only appears on it in places. A good mopping would take care of it. As for the lay out, well, it’s backwards to what I’m used to, and I need to get used to where everything is. The produce is pretty, but there’s not many individual sized containers with ready to eat produce, like I found at Whole Foods. I almost packed my pocket knife, but I don’t have any way of cutting any fruit. Everything else was fine. Long line at the customer service, which looked like a board nailed to the wall, for a shelf. The customer service area looked pretty beat up. I really wanted a small apple pie, like I saw at Whole Foods, but Albertson’s didn’t have any, and i wanted to by some ice cream, but didn’t want a super huge container of it… again, Whole Foods has Toffuti, and such. But Albertson’s is what it is.
