Blakes is a good place to get a burger at. The green chile is really hot though you have been warned. If I get chile on my burger I always get a shake to help keep my mouth from burning. The staff is usually not too friendly. They help you if they need to, but they don’t put in the extra effort.

My roommate suggested that the closest thing to In & Out was this place so obviously I just had to try it out. I didn’t have high expectations to begin with so overall their burgers were alright. If their burgers are the closest thing to a double double then I guess New Mexico needs to invest a new company within their state. The burgers were good and I loved the bacon(because anything with bacon tastes good for carnivorous people like myself). The meal comes with a side of fries and a large drink when you order #1 off the menu. You have the choice of choosing regular or seasoned fries(seasoned is always a tasty option!). I chose to have the green chili on the side and it was a good thing that I did that because damn was it spicy! New Mexico people do love their spicy foods. My tongue could not handle it(weaksauce). Service was great and parking was plentiful.

Blake’s is wonderful! A great green chili burger! A great Green Chili Chicken Sandwich. Amazing Onion Rings! The menu is simple, the décor is basic, the service is slower because the food is fresh. I find this to be the best, not so fast, fast food in New Mexico!

After 5 and a half years in the US Army, I finally moved back to New Mexico. The first green chile I had? A Blake’s green chile cheeseburger. I love that you find these all over northern New Mexico. It’s head and shoulders above 90% of fast-food burger places. The fries are great but it’s those darn green chile cheeseburgers that have me stopping here 1st thing everytime I fly into town.
