$ 11.99 burger with shoestring fries? Both overcooked too! Salad bar is $ 2.99 for one trip, yet $ 11.99 for as many trips that you want? MY math says go through 2 times @2.99 for a total of 5.98. The suggested tips has it figured as if you would tip on the entire bill… NOONE should tip on tax or alcohol. Would you tip the state?

I nearly always get fish. I love the salad bar. This is a great all around place for a nice meal with good service. Impresses your guest at a reasonable price.

I have never really seen Claim Jumper as a happening place. Driven by plenty of times as my daily route is I-25 but I’ve never seen a full parking lot. This past year for one of my duckies birthday we were in the mood for steak. We got here. We were seated. Looked and menu and nothing seemed appetizing. Needless to say 5 minutes after sitting down we left. During the summer I have come here for happy hour quite a few times. Now happy hour while having an empty bar a majority of times that ice been here is pretty decent. Great drink specials although I have yet to try one! They have wonderfully priced happy hour appetizers! I love their fried zucchini. Definitely a must try. I did finally get around to trying a steak a few weeks back. It was pretty good. Today trying this salad… well I can’t say tried… I didn’t have a bite. I was disappointed in being served a chopped up bowl of lettuce. While I can suggest other menu items… this one I can’t :-(

I’ve been eyeing this place since it opened. It looked kind of cool for a chain so we decided to try it out for a birthday dinner. Upon sitting down I saw that the place was under the same umbrella as my least favorite seafood chain-Landry’s(read prior review). I felt a little bamboozled that they shut down a Landry’s and opened up a ClaimJumper in the same location. The meal was about $ 100 and that included 3 drinks and a beer, an app, and 2 entrees. The waitress was excellent but I wish I could say the same about the food. For $ 20 I expected to really enjoy it(I got a tri-tip with mashed potatoes). The food came out cold but I didn’t send it back for fear of retribution. There was nothing remarkable about it and I didn’t eat the leftovers. We got calamari for an app and it was okay. I think this is why it’s important to support local businesses rather than chains. At least then, if you pay for more than what you got you don’t feel as bad because it’s going in to a person’s pocket instead of a conglomerate. I wanted this to be a great meal but it was just mediocre. I will say that the atmosphere was nice and the Birthday dude enjoyed his meal so it wasn’t a total flop.

This is my favorite Claim Jumper location. The filet is always amazing and their salad bar is hard to beat. Staff is always on point and my drinks are never empty.

Started off with a nice server. She was sweet. For a chain my mother and I thought the prices were pretty high. Who pays 16.99 for pasta at a chain? If we spend more money it is at a place with handmade creations by a chef. We decided on a couple bowls of soup and a bbq shrimp app. The soup was typpical chain fare and the shrimp was strange. Four shrimp at 10.99 is excessive. They seem to have a decent happy hour but you must sit in the bar.

I’ve been to Claim Jumpers in the San Diego area so I had high expectations for this location. I was a bit disappointed in the décor, I had to explain how/why the name came about. Décor helps to explain — please make it more ‘49ers(not football, LoL!!). Food — good and plentiful, as always. In my previous Albuquerque visits, I’ve had the half– rotisserie chicken dinner, tri-tips dinner, and the chicken-fried chicken dinner. All dinners were nicely prepared and presented, and I’ve always been able to take home half of my dinner for later. For a different appetizer, try the Zucchini — you’ll love it!!! Hint — ask to make your own salad at the salad bar — always enough variety and the items are always freshly prepared.

Ordered the tri tip. It was good but had too much pepper on it. Had to send it back. Ended up with a top sirloin. It was ok… nothing special. Also ordered the chicken salad sandwich. It was pretty decent, but I didn’t eat the bred. It had some sort of tomato stuff on the bread… it might be good, it might be bad… I don’t know. Salad bar was pretty good also. I’m always wary of places with large menus(I’m looking at you Cheese Cake Factory) as its hard to make that many things well. This place has a similarly large menu. Overall it was good, but I can see where the size of the menu can impact quality.

It just so happens that I’ve never been to Claim Jumper. Heard fairly good things, but nothing over the top that dragged me there… until this fateful day. It was my boss’ birthday and apparently she is one for the chicken pot pie. Having personally not tried it, I can’t completely vouch for it, however, the woman makes it a point to come here each year on her birthday for it, so you can imagine it must be more than your run of the mill pot pie. I split the huge burger and chicken parmesan with another lady. I can truly say I liked it but wasn’t floored. It did the trick and the combination of both was great because I didn’t want just one thing. I think the sauce for the spaghetti could have been flavored up a bit more… it was kind of bland for my taste buds, but the burger impressed me more. I wouldn’t have expected to get a burger at a place like this but the abundance of avocado and red relish was a great addition to the gooey cheese and other various toppings. I didn’t get the salad bar but would be interested to try it in the future. I think it was like 6 bucks or something to add it, but I really can’t remember. I just know I would have been too full. I think an addition of a house soup on the salad bar would fare well for another option out there, especially if it’s 12 bucks on its own. Regardless, it looked tasty and made me wish I’d had a plate. I wonder if there’s a one ‘trip’ pony for less. Cause then I’d pony up for that. Har Har Har. The dessert was a huge chocolate cake with walnuts. Soooo rich. Good, but rich as can be. Wish I had milk. The little red velvet cupcake they provided as a complimentary birthday treat was sweet! Sign up for their rewards club if you plan to frequent it or its partners… the deals are worth it for the $ 25.

Tried Claim Jumper because it was the halfway point between me and a friend. I was immediately surprised at the ambience of the restaurant and the size. This place is huge! I really liked the patio, would be a very nice place to sit on a warm day.(Unfortunately, it is currently monsoon season, so we were unable to take advantage.) Not sure if the bread was delicious, or we were so hungry that anything would have tasted great, BUT the complimentary roll came fresh out of the oven. We enjoyed two servings of bread before our meal arrived. We both ordered the vegetarian portobello sandwich. Immediately after taking a bite we thought the same thing– the portobello mushroom was ice cold, which was strange. If the mushroom came warm, I think the sandwich would have been great. The bread on the sandwich was very good, just like the roll at the beginning. Overall, the experience was okay. I will be headed to the restaurant again to try their seafood.

We’ve been here a few times, and every time has been good. Each server we have had has been attentive, prompt, and courteous. The main star has always been the food. It is obvious how fresh the ingredients are. On this last visit, our server told us that nothing is ever frozen, and it shows in taste and quality. We have tried several menu items, including mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, caesar salad, potato soup, chicken tortilla soup, and their chili. Everything has been delicious and made with care. We are enjoying having a Claim Jumper in Albuquerque!

I’ll begin by saying this, Shane, Victor and Hector are the best crew ever. Vacationing with the family and eating @ mediocre places throughout Az Nv and NM we decided to stop here because of the known quality of service and food nevertheless the amazing view of the pond. This place is like no other CJ I’ve ever been to, there is a pond right outside the dining room, outside patio which could be very nice on almost any occasion. This is a Must eat at place!

One of our favorites. Friendly waiters, impeccable service every time. The menu is huge and offers a large variety of meals. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. Everything we have sampled on the menu has been tasty. Managers are constantly walking around and checking that you are completely satisfied. Great place!

The food here was mediocre. Went here on a Friday night because my friend really likes this place. She told me that the pasta in her black chicken pasta was overcooked. My steak was salty and had a different texture to it, but was otherwise edible. Clam chowder isn’t as rich or creamy as I’ve had in other places. It was a little runny. Service was just okay. We had to ask several times for to-go boxes, but other than that, it was satisfactory. It was about what you would expect from a chain restaurant on a Friday night. Best part of the night was the chocolate cake dessert! There were three adults to partake in it, but we still had to take some of it home with us. A person sitting next to us commented that he had been at a CJ in San diego where two young ladies ordered two pieces of chocolate cake, not knowing how big it would be, and trying to offer it up to the diners around them after the pieces arrived. So, unless you have more than three adults or you have a teenage boy with you, one piece is plenty! Bottom line: I’ve been to the CJ in Concord, CA, and it does a better job than this place. I would come back here with my friend because she likes CJ, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here on my own.

Went to Claim Jumpers for lunch today. Not crowded, but that may have been because of Snow Day and icy roads. Really liked the ambiance. Comfortable booths and tables were not crowded together. Claim Jumper is owned by Landry which also owns a favorite spot of ours in Calif, the Chart House. There was also a Claim Jumper we used to go to in CA which is no longer there. The meal we had today wasn’t as delicious as the other two. I ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad. Too much purple cabbage for my taste. It was good, not great. My lunch companion had clam chowder and Caesar salad. Decent. Really, I expected more from a restaurant in Landry family. I’m certainty going to try it again for dinner. Not too much you can do to a Chinese Chicken Salad to really make it stand out. Maybe their comfort food is more remarkable.

Work lunch — table for 12. Staff did a good job, we phoned our order in advance and it was on the table within 10 minutes. Attentive waiter and manager. They try hard. I was looking forward all week to the salad bar, buy it was not great. Fresh, clean, but small selection. Everyone else had the calorific fat laden sodium bombs these sorts of restaurants specialize in. You can get a plain protein and a side of vegetables, at least. But unless you are here for an unavoidable reason, like I am, there is no reason to ever go to a place like this.

Highly recommend their mozzarella sticks. I was looking for a place for my mother’s birthday(special occasion), but was disappointed that all of our entrees were very … average. The store location and lay out is very nice though, its spacious. My mother had some kind of rib and chicken which didn’t taste good, the chicken was very dry. She barely touched her food. My dad ordered a steak with coconut shrimps, I could tell he was just pretending to enjoy the steak. They give you large servings, but food is pretty average… I wouldn’t call their entrees bad, just not especially good. Mostly disappointed because its such a pretty restaurant and I wanted my parents to have a nice meal here.

The hostesses were average. Not as friendly as I wish but they get the job done. The service was awesome. Brigita is a great server and I was really impressed by how hard she worked and how good of a job she did given the poor quality of the meal. Kitchen was absolutely not awesome. How hard is it to screw up a hamburger that’s medium instead of medium well with cheese as the only topping? Well, they did it. Even when they remade it, my burger was a hockey puck, not a medium temp that I asked for. But I hate being the difficult one so I didn’t complain again. Management was awesome. Within 2 minutes of my order being taken back to the kitchen the manager came out and offered us free dessert for our trouble. That’s exactly what should happen when something goes wrong. Probably won’t be back because I hated the food but it made me happy to be treated so well so thanks for that. Again, great job Brigita! !! You’re awesome and I wish you served somewhere else so I could justify going just to have you serve me.
