A carbon copy of the best of Mexican seafood from Santa Fe only closer to home… Filet Mariners was outsttanding. I am a flan affecionado & theirs is made from scratch 10 out of 10!!!

As many business travelers do, I try to go to local places to eat instead of chains. Can be hit or miss. This place was one of the best I’ve been. Shrimp were plentiful. Entire meal was delicious and just the right amount. I enjoyed the three dips they give you with the chips, not just salsa. Price was right and service was excellent!

Aye Papi!
This place is really really terrific! Traditional Mexican seafood joint with lots of choices that you don’t find at other Mexican Seafood places in Albuquerque. What might those be, say you? Well you are going to have to head over to find out for yourself!
I can tell you everything is freshly made and tastes amazing. The prices are good and the service is great. We had three different dishes and an appetizer and although we stuffed ourselves, we managed to take leftovers home as well.

The only Mexican seafood restaurant worth paying for. Their portions are a perfect size for the price. I had the aguachile, it was delicious!

Its good to see another Mariscos type restaurant in Albuquerque as the one over on Coors and i40 isn’t everything everyone makes it out to be but Mariscos la Playa sure is. They have other locations in Espanola and Santa Fe which I have tried many years ago and the food is just as good as it is at those locations.

The food is great and the service is fast, friendly and accommodating. The prices are reasonable for a Mexican marisco restaurant and every table gets chips, salsa, a cream slaw, and beans. I ordered a ceviche tostada and the shrimp was marinated well. The cocktails were packed with seafood, but the small was a little too small for the pruce though it was a perfect size for my appetite. Other than that, everything was absolutely great. I will definitely be back.

Mariscos La Playa is a nice family restaurant with a lot of space, clean and has excellent staff.
When we were shown to our table we were quickly greeted by staff with chips and 3 types of salsa, shortly to follow our drinks appeared. The atmosphere is very colorful and family friendly.
The tostadas de ceviche was flavorful and the serving size was huge. The mariscada caliente was very good. There is a mix of grilled fish, shrimp, scallops, calamari and octopus served with rice and tortillas easily enough food for 4 – 5 tacos.
If your looking for a nice family restaurant you should definitely try Mariscos La Playa (San Mateo)

This location hasn’t been kind to restaurants in the past, but I think this is a perfect fit! Attentive service & great Happy Hour specials.
