I needed my FAA medical renewed and«Doctor On Call» was the only place open the week of Jan 1. I guess they’ll take any business they can get! What an awkward experience! This visit started off with me forgetting to fill out some paperwork online before my appointment. I arrived at the office to a couple of lap dogs running around and jumping on my leg. The three women in the converted office space were obviously not happy to have their gab session interrupted. I asked if I could use one of the three computers that were obviously not in use. «Oh, no… We don’t have a commuter you can use, you’ll have to reschedule.» This place is across town from me so I was none too thrilled to have to make the trip again, but did so. I had to wait 15 minutes for the first appointment of the day, during which time I asked to use the restroom. After I did so, they informed me I’d need to submit a urine sample to even start the exam. Great timing. After countless cups of water and coffee was finally able to «produce»(sorry for the TMI), I was shown into the actual doctors office(there are three semi-connected offices in the complex). Dr. Vigil ran through the standard questions with the same enthusiasm and professionalism I’d grown to expect from his staff(i.e. none). It’s not that he didn’t do his job, but needless to say I won’t be going back.
