In a last minute decision we stopped at El Serape for a quick supper. What a wonderful surprise! The best, freshest, tastiest guacamole in the city! The surroundings were clean, well-​arranged and the service was friendly, hospitable and just the right amount of attention. The other items we ordered (chile rellenos and cheese enchiladas) were excellent and the flan Wes delicious!

The food was very good and that is why I’m giving three stars it would be five if we would of gotten faster service. Food is tasty and portions are very good. It took almost an hour to get our food they are noticeably understaffed. Our waitress was the only waitress in the entire restaurant and she was very sweet and was doing her best but with a full house that’s hard to do. I’m all about customer service so I appreciate her effort but an hour to wait for our food was ridiculous and frustrating.

Very yummy! The salsa was fantastic, spicy and flavorful. I had the Plato Mexicano and my boyfriend had chicken enchiladas with christmas. The relleno was great. We both left feeling full and happy, our craving for Mexican food totally sated. Service was fast, however there were only a few other tables when we arrived, slightly before regular dinner time hours.
Would recommend to locals and visitors alike, and will definitely return.

The salsa was Perfect! Yes, it is flavorful and super spicy. It would make your average gringo cry. The food was excellent. I loved my mole enchiladas. My only complaint the service I experienced that day was super slow. I waited 30 minutes for someone to take my order.

So good. …I got tacos &they’re great but REALLY filling! I’m from out of state and took a chance with only 2 reviews. Definitely worth it! I’m typically accustomed to Mexican food in southern California and this is as good as we’ve got there…

Salsa was excellent. Red and Green both good and spicy. A secret for now. Will be among the best ABQ has to offer soon enough. Restaurant is not at 4119 but rather 5025 Central Ave.

I’m from Phoenix, AZ and I love mexican food. I was doing business with a local and I had asked for a good place to eat for breakfast. He told me about this place and I was happy I went. I had chorizo and eggs which were awesome. The chips and salsa were quite spicy and that is also what I look for in a mexican restaurant. I highly recommend the chorizo and eggs. I plan to go back and try other dishes.
