Our first visit here and we are impressed. I brought the family here because of the rave reviews. To be clear, its fast food, in fact it feels like I stepped into a time machine and walked into a 1950’s soda shoppe. The interior décor is a stylish red n white style, is impeccably clean, friendly and inviting. I noticed people comparing Freddy’s to In-N-Out, I’ve just moved here after being in California for 35 years so I know In-N-Out extremely well, having been there endless times. Freddy’s is better. In-N-Out specializes in a clean, simple old style menu, that s great but after a short while you get bored of their extremely limited menu, yes I know about the secret menu, that only varies the choices slightly and they mostly taste the same. Freddy’s has a lot more choice of how to assemble your burger and it tastes so much better. People claim that In-N-Out might e simple but they like the fresh taste, if you really want to know what fresh beef taste like try Freddy’s you really can taste the beef and al the over flavors, its no contest Fredy’s wins The burgers at In-N-Out are rather pedestrian, they are the kind of burgers that ids like. I prefer the burgers at Smashburger which have a lot of flavor and Freddy’s remind me of Smashburger, which is a very good thing. Freddy’s burgers are thin, don’t be surprised at how thin they are. I suspect the have the same amount of meat, just spread out in a wide thin patty. Why do this? For the same reason that Smashburger smashes their burgers, it gives a lot of flavor because they have a very well developed crust. The crust is slightly crispy which I like because its adds a texture element(in addition to adding a lot of flavor), In-N-Out meat is bland(which is why small children like them) where Freddy’s has that great fresh beefy taste and lovely textures. Service at Freddy’s is spectacular, staff att he register is happy to hep you with your order, and for first timers, we always need extra help to get use dot the menu, regardless of where we go. The staff patiently explained their offerings and while we were seated, three staff meters stopped by to ask if we had any more questions or needed anything else. They are excellent, this is the kind of service that I look for and that keeps me coming back for more. The new offering is deep fried pickles and even though I’m not a big fan of pickles, these are great, definitely do try them. And now for the Frozen Custard. Frozen custard is my favorite style of ice cream and Freddy’s does it well. If you don’t know, frozen custard is the highest form of ice cream, its made richer, thicker, smoother and creamier by the addition of at lest 1.2% egg yolk. Yes it really makes a difference, you don’t get that gritty, crystal filled texture that you do with regular ice cream. Frozen custard is a luxurious experience. Freddy’s also offers«Concretes» which are sort of halfway between ice cream and a milkshake, so essentially its an extra thick milkshake that has several min-ins thrown in for fun. You can order a concrete that has already been designed(signature) or custom make your own, either way its going to be good. Is Freddy’s frozen custard as good as «Vanilla Bean Frozen Custard & Treatery»? No. But then again Freddy’s is a fast food burger joint and not a high end gourmet experience, they are different shops and are best for different moods. When you’re in a meat eating, Concrete scooping kinda mood then Freddy’s is the place to go. The music in the background is enjoyable, the ambiance is fast-food charming. There is free WiFi which I definitely give extra points for. I like that the kitchen is mostly open so I can see how clean it really is and the employees are friendly. Considering that the food is good, better than the average fast food joint, it stand to reason that Freddy’s is possibly the best fast for joint in our area. Try it out, I’m taking all the rest of my family and friends there as soon as possible.

Nice place, decent prices and the food is always consistent. And today they were doing a Special Olympics fund raiser.

First let me say this is not a negative critique of the food at Freddy’s. I am a big fan of the food, ice cream and up until today the exceptional customer service. I visited for the first time the Freddy’s location at 10701 Corrales Rd NW Albuquerque, NM at about 4:30 today. I was at Stanton Optical next door. My son and I were getting new glasses. The manager suggested we go next door to get some ice cream while we waited. So after a few errands we stopped in Freddy’s The manager who recommended Freddy’s was sitting there eating a late lunch. We overheard him ask the clerk for warm fires as his were cold. The clerk told him he could not exchange them saying he needed approval from his manager. The manager, Monica Romero came out and said loud enough for all in the store to here, NO she would not replace the fires as fries cost money! She looked at him with an arrogant, smug smile and treated him in such an uncaring and unprofessional manner that I was shocked. I was so taken aback by the attitude that after the gentleman left I asked for the manager and told her what she did was wrong and that she should apologize. She cut me off in mid sentence and treated me the very same way as the man before me. She clearly didn’t like the fact that I was telling her what she did was wrong, so she accused me of yelling at her. She again said, fries cost money! I said to her, do you realize that you’ve lost more money by not giving him the fries. I asked for the name of her manager she said she was the manager. I had to ask again, this time for the name of her boss. She replied the owner is not here and neither is the other manager and they won’t be here until next week so you will have to wait until Monday to contact them. She said she would call her boss and tell him what happened. A few minutes later she returned and said she spoke to her boss and he backed her 100% saying she did the right thing. I asked her to give me her name and her manager’s name so that I could contact him. She refused to give me contact information only saying that you can call the store on Monday. Truly this was one of the most upsetting acts by a manager I have ever witnessed. So much so that I feel compelled to write about it. The fact that this“manager” did not see the value in her customer is appalling. To do this to any customer is wrong, but in this instance you have a business next door where the staff frequents Freddys’ and recommends Freddy’s to its customers, just like they did to me. One must wonder how many customers they have sent over to Freddy’s in the past year alone and the manager response is fries cost money, wow! Then the manager receives feedback from me on her behavior and instead of trying to understand and accept responsibility she decides to belittle me as well. Clearly there are issues with this manger. In my opinion she is not competent to serve in this role. She needs help with her attitude, manners, basic customer service and business acumen, but most of all she needs to learn humility. At a minimum, I hope the owner/manger of this franchise will do the right thing; go next door and apologize to the entire staff at Stanton Optical.

The best burger chain in town. We eat here way more than we should. The burgers are amazing, and the fries with the fry sauce are even better! The concrete(desserts) are also very good. The only thing we didn’t love was the ice cream cakes, but everything else is worth stopping for. A great change of pace from the McDonald’s and Burger Kings of the world, when you want that fast food fix.

Freddy’s is one of my favorite places to go and get a really good Burger and Fries. The #1 Original Double Burger is the best. The only thing I don’t like is they charge you about 0.75 cents more for cheese. The fries are really good and they give you a whole lot of them. The special sauce makes it even better. Certain times of the day it seems to get really busy and it can be hard to find a table to sit at but the food is always out extremely fast. If you’re looking for a really good Burger and Fries for a reasonable price Freddy’s is the place to go!

the burgers from Freddy’s are the best! the thing that makes them great is how thin the patty is! it’s great. my recommendations are Steak burger with cheese and ketchup. steak burger with cheese and bacon Philly cheesecake green chili cheese steakbuger with bacon. another plus is that the staff are so nice over here at Freddy’s. I am a regular at Freddy’s. they are always so nice and it really makes the store great. downsides: there aren’t many downsides but there are some minor ones. there constantly out of fry sauce and salt. the«fast» food should be changed to «medium» food haha. but overall Freddy’s is a great place and if your in the mood for a sweet treat(frozen custard) you can’t get better than Freddy’s. all of the custard is good. and boy!, don’t even get me started on the fries.

Good: Friendly prompt service. The Bad: you have to pay an extra $.50 to get extra cheese to make«double melt» a double melt. The Ugly: military discount is now Monday’s only. Many of us soldiers would like to eat here more days a week. On fixed incomes, it’s more difficult now. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

The reason why I put a four is simple because of the custard and the staff. The staff is super friendly and the custard is amazing and that’s the only reason why I come here. The burgers don’t have much taste and I don’t really consider the patty a patty simple because of how small it is but it shouldn’t stop others from trying this place.

HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE. I’ve only had one bad experience here out of the 5 – 6 times I’ve gone, but because of that I never want to come to this location ever again. Went in on a Monday at 7:45, they weren’t busy. The register girl was putting things away at the custard station and looked right at us when we walked in and turned back around to finish what she was doing. After we decided what we wanted, she was still sitting there with her back turned. After she finally took our order, we got our drinks and there were only 2 lids left. No straws, and all but one napkin dispenser was empty. Then the food came out. Sloppiest California combo ever, everything was falling out and there was about ½ an entire onion on the burger. They weren’t even busy, had 6 other people in the restaurant besides us.

Worst location ever. If you want a nice impromptu date night, do not come here. They only put cheese on half my patty melt, my husband was completely finished eating before I received a replacement. We had a custard on hold and requested it, the cashier waited on 10 other customers and never asked someone to make it. I had to ask the manager for it. Very bad service!

Are you a patient person? If so you will be okay ordering at the drive through. Here’s our typical order: Me: We would like a double chocolate waffle cone, a vanilla waffle cone, and an empty cup. Teen taking order: Ummm… ok, so, like you want two chocolate and vanilla waffle cone and one in a cup? Me: Nooooooo, we want a DOUBLECHOCOLATEWAFFLECONE, A DOUBLEVANILLAWAFFLECONE, and an EMPTYCUP, because the ice cream drips. Teen: So, like, you want 2 waffle cones each with one scoop of chocolate and one scoop of vanilla? Me:(pausing to take a blood pressure pill) Nooooo, we want you to take two waffle cones. In one we want 2 dips of chocolate. In the second cone we want 2 dips of vanilla. And forget the extra cup… we probably have one rolling around in the back of the car. We are retired teachers and we weep for the future of our society every time we go to Freddy’s.

I love their custard milkshakes here. Good old fashioned chocolate is on par with the boutique ice cream shops like Rude Boy Cookie on Nobhill, but for a fraction of the price. Add in some brownie bits and it’s over the top awesome!

Love the steak burgers. The meat is is so good. Reminds me of getting a burger back in the day or a good home cooked bbq hamburger. The custard is also pretty good. It is a nice change from the same ol same ol fast food. I would prefer maybe steak fries instead of their shoestring fries but that is what also makes them different and they are NOT greasy or soggy. Just nice golden crisp fries. Tastes great and price is good. No more B. L or especially MCD’S for us for a while, this is the new go to spot. Can’t believe it took me so long to try it.

What can I say about Freddy’s? The taste that takes you back, I don’t know how far back it can take me as I’m not that old but it sure is a damn good burger. First time there we had a bad experience. I contacted management and they rectified the issue and we have been going back ever since. We always have the number 7 Bacon double cheese burger. So good, and why a double? Because if you get a single then your pretty much just eating bread. If you want to taste the goodness then get a double! Cheese fries and chili cheese fries are awesomeness! Now there frozen custard, so good just so good.

Their burgers are so good here! They are thin patties — pretty greasy — but delicious! The fries are the very thin crispy fries — just the way I love them! They have some great dipping sauces for the fries. And when you’re done indulging with all of that you can get some frozen custard! It is so thick and delicious! We have tried it plain or mixed in some of their sundaes and it is always good! It is very rich though so you might want to share!

Don’t get me wrong — I love Freddy’s, just not this Freddy’s. The food is your run of the mill hamburger joint with tasty fries/fry sauce. Sometimes I really crave it and have to pop in. Unfortunately this location has the slowest drive thru in the continental US. Our trip here always starts our with the kiddos excited for Freddy’s and then turns into screaming and crying because it’s taking too long. I’ve also had a few incidents of having panhandlers approach me while I’m waiting to order(tapping on my window). I really wish they could get it together — I realize they make things«fresh» but the other locations don’t take this long. Too bad it’s the closest one to us!

Definitely different… in a good way! The best things… 1. The frozen custard! I always get a mini which is plenty. Nice variety of toppings and mixings for a burger place. 2. The whole burger — not just the patties. Plenty of fixings and now they have green chile. Wasn’t crazy about the thin patties at first but works great in a double. 3. The crispy little fries and the house sauce. 4. The service… usually. They’re the only fast food place I’ve been to that checks on you and clears your table while you dine. A Freddy’s fan for sure!

Why do new food places start out great and go downhill from there? I have eaten at Freddys at least a dozen times. Yesterday I waited in the drive-through line for almost 45 minutes! I would’ve gotten out of there, but there is no way to get out of that line once you’re in it! I always have a hot dog! I am from Chicago and I am used to «Vienna» hotdogs. They don’t have poppyseed buns, however, they have a bond that slit on the top through the middle which is Connecticut style or something like that. I asked for easy mustard and I got so much mustard I didn’t know what to do! The fries ended up to be those old ones that have been sitting in the tray for longer than you would like, not one of them was even warm. I won’t be going there on weekends ever again. They need to fix their process because it pretty much sucks. 45 minutes in the drive thru line with no way out of that line.

mmmmmmm love the hamburgers from here. I really love pickles too and I like the big pickle slices they use. If you’re not a big pickle fan then get your burger without them. The fries are pretty tasty from here too. They serve huge portions that you don’t think you’ll ever finish but before you know it, they will be all gone. Also the different sauces they use are a nice touch. Overall a good burger joint when your in the mood for one.

The food is okay. But seriously they punish you for ordering a hot and a cold food item. Took 10 mins to get my carry out Chili Cheese Fries and an additional 15 mins to met my MINI concrete togo.
