Book this if you want to walk to the balloon fiesta(about 15 – 20 minutes) and you don’t want to deal with crazy parking or shuttle lines(2+ hours). If you aren’t doing balloon fiesta, be warned this is not all that amazing. The breakfast room has old furniture that looks like every three year old has taken a leak on(stains, stains, and lumps). The front desk staff is not helpful, and plan to wait forever for them to check you in. I asked for more black tea bags once(since they have all day coffee and tea) and they pointed me to the herbal tea. I finally found the extra box myself under the cabinets. Breakfast is simple, not amazing and the«fresh fruit» is quite old. Then there was the flood in our first room, 305. We were resting, and it started to rain. Water started pouring though the top of the window. I called the front desk while my husband ran to the bathroom for towels. After filling up the ice bucket about twice in two minutes, the manager moved our room(to a smaller room). We were not compensated for the inconvenience. The indoor pool and jacuzzi is nice, but be prepared to bargain for pool towels that are smaller than hand towels.

I wish I would have read the Unilocal reviews before booking this hotel for a one night stay of a business trip. Due to horrible weather I was forced to cancel my stay at the last minute(which I did prior to 6pm). I specifically asked the front desk if I would be charged anything for my stay and they replied«No, absolutely not.» Well, that was wrong. I received my credit card statement the next week and a full night stay charge of $ 107 was charged to my account. When I contacted the hotel they said there was nothing they could do, the«fine print» clearly stated that the«deposit» was non-refundable. I explained the entire situation clearly and the manager simply said«I can offer you a complimentary stay the next time you are in town but no refund.» Well… this was a one-time trip so that doesn’t help me at all… I even contacted the IHG corporate office to lodge my complaint and they came back saying there was nothing they could do either. IHG has lost my business… ESPECIALLY this particular hotel. The kicker is… I even chose to stay at a different Holiday Inn that night before the weather got too bad. Oh! and I forgot to add… this Holiday Inn wouldn’t let me review them on their website even though I had all the necessary information… It says my information doesn’t match their records… I have a $ 107 charge that says it should!

i am very upset over our stay. first off i made the reservation in advance and was told i would have high floor with view of fiesta park. i got there and was on level 1 with view of building there was no worse room as i was by the maid stock room pool etc. this was the only room on that side of building. i was told when i called several times about the reservation i would not be put on lower leve. once i entered the room the bathroom floor was flooded and i called and was told sorry we have no other rooms. i told them the floor was flooded and all they did was bring me towels. i had to clean floor myself. i am handicapped. next the breakfast in the morning was a joke. the food was cold and my father got sick off the eggs. i told them about cold food and was told i have a microwave in my room so me being handicapped should use my wheelchair to take my tray to my room and heat my food !!! my stay was horrible.

Had a very nice stay here. Nice size room. Pleasant staff and they even found my glasses for me that I left behind. Will stay here again!

I’ve stayed at Holiday Inns before, but we had just a relatively negative experience when staying at this location. Checking in at night, with an empty lobby, it took the staff about 15 minutes to get us our room keys. Even though I had paid online, they kept swiping my card for«incidentals.» My wife showered in the room, and the floor of the shower creaked the entire time, as the floorboards in an old house would, further keeping me from sleep. In the morning we went down to the gym to find really slick treadmills, so unsafe that we didn’t even work out. We checked out immediately and left regretting checking in to the hotel. Days later, I happened to glance at my bank statement and saw that not only had I paid for the room online, but I had been charged at the hotel again. I called the hotel and although the manager was helpful in getting the charge reversed, she seemed to blame a lack of training on the error. Definitely stay clear of this branch if you’re considering staying at the Holiday Inn. We went up the road to a different hotel and were able to relax on our vacation in a much more enjoyable fashion.

We went away to Albuquerque from 7th-9th of October as we wanted to take in the balloon fiesta. Hubby booked a smoking room by accident. There was no chance of a room change as the place was busy. The room stank of smoke. The place was very cheap so I didnt expect 4 star luxury. However, it could be better. The room was quite old and needed updating and additionally the door had one lock broken off. It was OK. But not fantastic. Served its purpose– a bed for the nights we were there.
