Being brand new to ABQ, from the Midwest, we were looking for a place to go watch football on a regular basis. We had no idea we’d find Packers heaven in NM! Can’t wait till next season when we can go every week! I will also be bringing the ABQ Avengers to the bar!

Best neighborhood bar in town! Nice & dark, lit only by the multiple tv’s & pool tables. Great internet jukebox! A great local vibe, not a club by any standards. If you like to relax without being bothered by sleaseballs or marshmallow vodka ditz’s, this place fits comfortably. Football & college basketball can get pretty busy with very devoted fans, some a little too much! But its still a bar where many have a great time.

Went there for Packers Raiders game and it has been a while since I had been in a true Packers bar. Never guessed I would found one in ABQ. The TVs were just fair although I did luck out and get a good seat in front of the best tv in the house. The best thing I can say it is reasonable food and drink prices. I’ll have to go back when it isn’t so crowded

I give Howie’s 4 stars out of nostalgia, as I’ve not been there since the last ice age. But I thought I’d share with many of you who are probably much younger than me that Howie’s was Albuquerque’s first true Sports Bar way back when. First place in town were a guy could go and watch the Canadian Football Grey Cup!

This is a really fun sports bar. Great place to watch games, especially Wisconsin teams. The only reason I’m not giving it give stars is because the only light beer on draught is bud light. It would get five stars if it had miller lite or Coors light.

I love this sports bar. Any game you want — they’ll put it on for you. Packer’s HQ but a good following for all teams. The owners and staff are a great as they come. I true local watering hole.

I have always loved this place. It’s a gem by the wayside! Who doesn’t like a frosty mug of beer? Though, i wish they still had Miller Lite in tap! Try a Pound of Fries or some Suicide Wings to go with a few cold ones.

I don’t know why I like Howie’s maybe it brings back memories? Lol! The hub and I usually end date-night here. It’s fun to meet all the characters that hang out, and last night we tried the Cajun wings. Yes, we did. We ate them up, because as the bartenders hinted cajun was the best, although I will try the buffalo too, someday. They only have a couple of pool tables and electronic darts, but I still like Howie’s…some things you never grow out of… like pulling up a stool for a nightcap at your local dive bar.

OK, dive bars are good… dive bars where none of the staff knows how to correctly pour up a proper pint of Guinness… EPIC fail in my book. Ive gone here many times & no matter who is behind the bar(and Ive taken note) nobody understands what a slow pour on for proper head with this brew means?! Couple of times the nitrogen tank had to be out completely since the beer arrived totally flat… really??! Shameful honestly, disappointing mostly esp when you are lookin forward to that glass of stout after a long day. I coulda done one better buyin the 4-pack cans from Smith’s …equipped with the nitrogen ball inside each can & gotten a better pour! Then to get a cheeky attitude from the staff as though somehow this obvious observation makes me high-maintenance!!! Shame on you Howie’s! BOOO

Fancy — no. Fun — yes! Good food — no. Good drinks — yes! This place reminds me of the bars in the middle of nowhere WI. It’s dark, lots or wood, bathrooms could be nicer, and beer signs galore. The prices are very fair and the people are nice. It’s also a Badger/Packer bar in ABQ — what could be better? They are also great at accommodating groups and have tons of TVs showing different games. Two warnings: 1. They do serve appetizers, but no meals. 2. I am a little bias because I am a Cheesehead.

Dive bar. But it’s a pretty enjoyable one. The owner was there with his friends when we went. He bought us two rounds of shots and thanked us multiples times for being there. He even gave us a quarter when we were one short for the pool table. Its probably the most fun dive bar I’ve been to. Stay away from the god awful dart machine though. It makes terrible noises that can be compared to a sick cat fighting a goose.

If you are looking for a dark, dive bar this is your spot. Don’t expect anything fancy, but if you want a strong drink come here. The bar will be full of locals who go there daily and the conversation is great!

It’s a dive, but the drinks are strong, the people are great, and its not so loud you can’t hear your friends talking. Lots of fun during foot ball season.
