THISPLACEISCLOSED! I wish the website was updated. I am not from here, and was really craving Indian. There are countless Mexican restaurants, but few Indian. I drove a half hour to get here, and with no warning it was closed.

Totally love this place!!! This was my first experience eating indian food and what a better way to have a first try then dining at a completely amazing place!!! This resturant is quite beautiful in the interior(dont let the strip mall look fool you)…the décor is lavishly embellished with the traditional indian theme! The wait staff is sure to please they where on top of it and very friendly and sweet. Our glasses never emptied! Now for the food: my husband and i both ordered the chicken tikka marsala(my husband ordered the same as me because he to had never had indian food so he figured that mine would be better than his lol) it was to die for! The chicken was tender and the creamy tomato sauce was heavenly and velvety!.. we also ordered the garlic naan which was crisp, fluffy and the flavor totally tasty!!! I will be a regular at this little tucked away joint!!!

Ok I just finished eating the to go I ordered at this place and I could not wait to tell anyone who would listen how great it is. I stopped myself from calling the restaurant directly and complimenting the chef. Ok I’m gushing, let me explain why. I don’t usually write reviews due to my heavy work schedule and more so because nothing I have had lately has made a big impression. I should mention that I eat out EVERYDAY since I work so much and have no time to cook. I ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala and though the chicken was just a tiny bit dry the sauce it was in was incredibly flavorful. Really just a succulent rich tasting dish. I could not stop eating it. I also wanted to try their Saag Paneer as an app, this was a spinach dish with a homemade cheese block. The cheese was not overly salty or particularly strong but held up a great flavor nonetheless. Lastly for desert the person on the phone told me I should try the Kulfi, a milk and cream pistachio dessert flavored with cardamoms. All I can say is that it was small but a little bit of heaven. I am sad I did not find this place sooner as I am moving out of state in 2 weeks. For the first time in years I am actually going to heat up my leftovers(they usually get thrown out) and look forward to the super delicious food that awaits me tomorrow. I hope everyone can try this place at least once, I really cannot see how you can be disappointed.

Decent atmosphere for a strip mall place, but the food was lacking. I have come to love the wonderful flavors usually found in Indian food, but the food at India Palace seemed very muted, bordering on bland. I am new to Albuquerque and will keep looking for great Indian food.

Tikka masala garlic naan. yum. My wife and I were staying in a hotel and we had this place deliver to our hotel. It was great food. Just a forewarning, if you like hot food and sometimes you have to order extra hot to get the spice and heat level you are looking for, watch out for this place. We ordered our food hot and it came burning hot. Great, but near the upper end of our comfort level, where it is still pleasant to eat and spicy as well.

Very good food and nice options on the well-priced lunch buffet. Service can be a bit awkward at times. Attentive, but aloof. The décor needs an upgrade. It is worn, tired, and looking dingy in the light of day.

Ordered a take out over the phone having a current menu in my hands. When I got there to pick it up my bill was about 20% more then on the menu. On my question why they came up with some lame explanation. Even after I took a menu from the counter and show them the price they didn’t change it. I never gonna come back.

I love the buffet at India Palace. LOVE it. Not only does it feature several of the best Indian dishes in the Duke City, they change the numerous offerings around all the time so you don’t end up eating the same food every time you go. Add to that impeccable service, competitive prices, and a beautiful décor and you have one of the very best options for Indian cuisine in ABQ. Like most people, my favorite Indian dishes are chicken tikka masala and saag paneer and they just rock these at India Palace. Their tandoori chicken, which ends up in a lot of the chicken based dishes like the tikka masala, is outstanding. It’s got that rich, smokey, grilled flavor and juicy, tender texture that can only come from a real tandoor. They offer it on its own as well, for a delicious, healthy entrée. The thick, decadent tikka masala sauce is knee-weakeningly delicious and is the perfect complement to that smokey chicken. Fortunately, they almost never switch this one out on the buffet. India Palace does the best version I can remember of the other classic dish, saag paneer. I generally hate cooked spinach, and I’m pretty particular about my saag paneer, but the way they make it here with plenty of cream, spices, and onions is just perfect. And they don’t skimp on the paneer either. Of course, they have many other dishes that are excellent as well. From the spicy vindaloo to the creamy curries to the braised goat to the delicious little kormas to the Punjabi dishes to the crisp, fresh naan, it’s hard to find something that’s not terrific and gourmet. There are simply too many excellent dishes for me to go through them all individually. But I will say, the dinner portions are pretty large, and when you order entrees the food is even better. But first, try the buffet and get an idea of what they do well. You know, everything.

Excellent food and a great atmosphere. I really love the Aloo Gobi and the Saag Paneer. They are quick and always friendly, plus they give you HUGE portions.

Not friendly. Hurry up and eat! Food below average. Prepare to be stared at while you are eating. That doesn’t work in America fellas! It just makes us eat more just to piss you off.

There’s a reason why this place has stayed open for so long… because the food here is just amazing! I’m a huge fan of Saag Paneer, and every time I order that from here fails to disappoint me. The naan bread is fresh, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, a perfect vessel to eat the curry with. Service is a little bit on the formal side, so it’s nice to come here with a date.

My husband and I really LOVE this place… The service is great, and the food is wonderful. I always order the Chicken Tikka Masala, and it never fails to be delicious.

I like this place because the waiters are sorta friendly and its open late for NM standards — 10pm. The food is well priced and pretty good. If you are tired of your burrito or enchilada or chimi swimming in chile, you can swing by here for a meal. Dont get the cheese dessert — sorta obvious but I figured I’d throw it out there :)

Wow. We stopped in for dinner at India Palace a couple of weeks ago while running a few errands up in the heights. We were very pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. The wife and I shared a lamb dish and a lentil(I think?) dish. Each dish, plus the rice and naan were perfectly delicious. The prices were fair, the service attentive, and the quality top notch. I think we will return here more often, even though we’ll have to drive across town to get here, it’s worth the little bit of effort.

Nice atmosphere. Seems like it could be good, but was nothing special. I was excited to try the lunch buffet, which is 11:30 — 2:30 for $ 8.95. I came a little before 2:00, was seated immediately, and made my way to the food. They had rice, garlic and plain naan, about 9 dishes – including goat curry, salad(a bowl of iceberg lettuce), some fruit, mango and rice puddings, and an array of sauces. Two dishes were excellent: the tandoori chicken and saag paneer(which is a vegetarian version of the spinach lamb dish another Unilocaler mentioned). I was surprised the tandoori chicken was warm because the rest of the food wasn’t – okay, the rest of the food was disappointingly lukewarm(at best). But the chicken was super moist. Saag paneer was tasty after I dug through the pan to find two pieces of paneer. Nice sauces. Not much else stood out. Oh, the vegetable pakora probably would be awesome freshly made and was still semi-good in its greasy-and-gummy-from-sitting-out-too-long state. Rice: decent. Naan: dry from sitting out too long, but it didn’t seem like it would be anything special even if it wasn’t crusty and hard. There was something strange about the garlic too. There was a pan of «chicken» in a sauce that was either tikka masala or close to it – sans the chicken. The sauce was bland with a hint of flavor from the chicken that had been in it at some point. Dahl had some nice seasoning but was too cold to tell if it was actually any good. When I went back to the buffet to get more saag paneer and dessert, there were four servers in the vicinity and about four other tables in the restaurant. Unfortunately, I sat through the rest of the meal without any of the servers removing the dirty plate from the table or checking on me. When I finished, one of them cleared the first plate and kind of asked if I’d liked it. He seemed really nice. I left two dollars on the table, got up to leave, and another waiter said«thank you.» After I paid, the cashier/host — a guy who, by the looks of things, easily could’ve been the owner or manager — asked how it was. I said«Okay» and would’ve happily elaborated, but he didn’t seem that concerned. Bottom line: I love Indian food, so I’m glad I tried this place. And now that I have, I know I’ll have to keep looking for a «go-to» Indian restaurant in ABQ. Not awful, but nothing compelling enough to go back.

On a recent roadtrip, we passed through Albuquerque and had a craving for Indian food. I know — the 2 don’t necessarily go hand in hand. This is hindsight speaking. After searching Unilocal –we thought we’d found a winner in India Palace. I believe that 1 Unilocaler even commented that this was the best Indian food they had ever had. Wow — that poor soul has had some lousy Indian food! Nothing was horrible — it was just all very ehhh. No real bursting flavors that I’ve come to love from Indian food — just very bland. Our server was a friendly young fellow — so he got a star. Other than that — umm. Yeah.

Just had a wonderful meal here. My husband had the lamb in a spinach and cream sauce which he said was wonderful… I also tried and thought was delicious. I decided to try the Tandoori Grill Plate… which consisted of Tandoori Chicken, Shrimp, Lamb Chop, Minced Lamb and Sea Bass… very tasty. The standard rice and dips that are served when you arrive are also amazingly good. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere very nice… great Indian feel with all the decorations and music, also my husband felt better on entering seeing a photograph of Val Kilmer with the owner of the restaurant… the only thing I would change is a verbal description of what they have to offer… I am very familiar with Indian as it is one of my favorite foods and where I lived I had at least 3 fantastic Indian restaurants within walking distance but my husband was not so familiar and I felt it would have been reassuring to have someone describe their specialities, spices etc… as this is what I feel would be a better introduction in an area that seems lacking in great Indian flavors… besides of course this gem of a restaurant.

Large portions, good food. Samosa appetizer was tasty — well spiced and served hot. Vegetarian combo came with soup starter(meh), saag paneer(yum!), daal(yum!), veg curry(meh), rice(yum!), raita(yum!), naan(yum!), and dessert(yummy yum!). Special punjabi lamb(delicious!) came with veg biryani(good), raita(yum!), and garlic naan(stinky yum!). Two orders was enough food for three people. Total — with two sodas, tax, and tip — was $ 52. Pretty space. Medium crowd around 7:30 on a Tuesday.(Around half the tables were full.)
