We are new to the area and looking for a good meat store. We’ve had chicken breasts and pork from this store that was excellent. However, I would warn people off of their cold cuts. My first purchase went bad in three days. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I bought a second purchase on Monday and when I opened it on Tuesday, it was smelly and spoiled.

In high school, my first job was in a meat market. I worked at Hi-Lo Market the Summer of my Sophomore to Junior year. I learned quickly how to quarter chickens, grind beef, and cut-down an entire mutton. Let’s jut say I packaged my share of Mexican Round Steak:)). I know meat. I eat meat. Keller’s is the only place I will buy my carnivorous-guilty pleasures from. The store is clean, the workers, for the most part, are friendly. Once in a while, there is a grumpy older gal there. Her and I avoid each other. HAHA, seriously, maybe she’s a vegetarian. She looks unhappy to work here. I once read that butchers had the highest levels of job satisfaction. So who know what her deal is… I usually shop the Coors location, but I have been to Eubank as well. They are both great, although the Eubank location is much busier. Still, the wait is not that bad at both locations. The most perfectly cut grass-fed porter house steaks reside behind the glass cases. They also stock buffalo, seafood, sulfate-free deli meats, some produce, their own green chile sausage. BACON… OMG, the bacon. They stock fresh dairy, drinks, and other goodies. Dont’ go expecting to fulfill all your shopping needs in one stop. This is first and foremost, a meat market. They have enough items you could make a meal out of in a crunch, but it is limited. The items they stock are natural and local, so that is a bonus. And now I want a steak.

If I was to go back into time and go back to lets say 1965 this is what I would imagine a grocery store would look like. Besides the outdated old school theme this place has some really awesome local products as well as some of the best meats around. I love coming here for there grass fed beef, rib eye steaks, bison steaks and ground bison its some of the best you can find in Albuquerque.

You get that great hometown service from the moment you enter Keller’s. I love supporting local, and Keller’s makes it easy. The meat is fresh and it just feels right shopping here! They have a great selection of deli meats and cheeses, and you must try their tamales!

While I’ve frequented the other location since I moved to the area, yesterday was my first visit to the Coors location. Well, Both locations rock! This place is a meat eaters dream! Yesterday’s purchase included two porterhouse, two ribeye, and crumbled stella bleu. For dinner we had the ribeyes with the bleu cheese on top — the steak was so tender, I didn’t even need my knife(no, really. i could cut it with my fork). Keller’s is the only place I will purchase meat.

As a recent convert, I think I’ll be a Keller’s follower as long as I live in Albuquerque. I’m singing praises on high for their turkey and green chile sausage. Let’s hear an Amen for those super thick, tender cuts of fresh beef. And can someone testify to all of their fantastic barbeque sauces? HEY! There’s some spicy HOTDAMN goin’ on at this spot, and I know salvation is comin’ when I fry up some of that locally-sourced bacon, Jack! Really, this is where ya gots to gets yo’ meats. Everything is really fresh(I believe the source is in southern Colorado) and it comes from sustainable farms, so you’re packing a one-two punch ecologically(carbon footprint) and ethically(humane animal treatment). There’s a decent selection of additional grocery products like snacks and gluten-free staples which you won’t find anywhere else as well, but you’ll certainly need to buy your produce somewhere else, so recognize that shopping here will add to your grocery shopping itinerary. But why would you buy from anyone else? Alas, my issue which drops this to a four-star review: lackluster fish/seafood selection.

This is where we get all our meats. Period, full stop, the end. All the meats! They have a fantastic selection and everything is such high quality. The prices are good, too — downright amazing, in fact, when you consider that the meats are well-sourced from local, sustainable farms; everything is preservative-free, too. From their turkey(you want to get your Thanksgiving turkey here… trust me), to their ground buffalo, to their bacon and sausages(which they make themselves), everything I’ve tried has been a winner. Great(local) eggs, too. The grocery store part of the store is small but has a decent selection of health foods, staples, and gluten-free items. Not too much produce, so I can’t do all my shopping here, but that’s fine — I get my produce elsewhere as this place is worth a second stop. They have some house-brand things like pasta sauce and BBQ sauce, and some gourmet grocery items, too. Oh, and excellent local honey(Moses brand) from right here in ABQ. Customer service is always top-notch too. Everyone who works here is friendly and welcoming. I am so grateful that Keller’s is here! If this business ever closed it would be a real loss for Albuquerque.

I just love shopping at Keller’s! They have just about any cut of meat imaginable, and if they don’t have it ready, they’re always happy to cut it right then and there. The quality of the food here is superb. Every recipe tastes better with Keller’s meats, seriously. What I love best about this store, though, is the amazing customer service. I always feel SO welcome here. Everyone says«hello» and offers to help. If my hands are full, they employees will carry my purchases to the counter for me. I highly recommend shopping here! Keep up the good work, Kellers!
