An interesting store within the nob hill area along central. Lots of different types of art, masks and sculptures along with hand-crafted jewelry and accessories. I recommend taking some time to really appreciate what all is in this store. It’s full of culturally inspired items and unusual treasures for yourself or someone else. The staff seemed friendly and helpful. My favorite items were the paintings. I believe they were done by local artists, but either way, I was in awe of many of the pieces displayed in this store.

Kiko, Kenny and the others at Masks y Mas are everything retail shopping should be. Everytime I set foot in this store, I am immediately welcomed not just greeted. My wife and I have developed a love for muertos figures and such and the authentic pieces from local and international artists are always welcome additions in our home. For those not looking to invest in a $ 600 piece of art, there are plenty of other fun and random items to enjoy and purchase. If you’re in Nob Hill, missing this place should be a crime.

Pretty awesome shop. Very eclectic, local folk art adorns the walls and racks and shelves. Wanted to buy something there but could not get it safely home to San Francisco in my suitcase so had to pass. Very fun place I would recommend it to check out the local scene!

This is one of, or if not the most vibrant shop in Nob Hill. From the bright and celebratory paint job on the exterior to the crazy selection of Mexican wresting masks in both adult and children’s sizes. The store consists of three rooms the main one with jewelry and applied arts, the one to the left which is a gallery of visual arts and jewelry, and the room to the right which has t shirts and more masks(such as an oversize diablo) and other apparel. Even if you do not find the perfect gift for someone, it is definitely worth a wonder in. I love the bone sculptures in the room to the left.

At first you might think this is just another touristy store full of overpriced junk that is imported but thats not what this is. Although there is a good amount of imported stuff here what’s most impressive is the collection of original artwork done by local artists. There are several media represented including a cool papermache piece. The guy working was nice. Definitely would come back.

Like most of my species, I’m absolutely fascinated by the one thing we’ll collectively never know anything about until we get there: death. I suppose this is why I insist on designating my agnostic position from its atheist cousin; while I’m pretty doubtful The Other Side exists, hey, what do I know? As the Digable Planets would say, We’re just babies, man. When the End comes for me, I’d personally prefer a spirit realm that keeps me close to the place I left, as opposed to clouds and gates and wings on my back. And plenty of flowers, while I’m there. This connected Otherworld is the stuff of dia de los muertos and it’s celebrated year-round at Mask Y Mas, a delightful local artisan collective in Nob Hill. The Mas is plentiful: paintings, sculpture, figurines, clothing and accessories, this is an excellent shop that represents the 505’s fascination and dedication to the neighboring holiday. Smart, tasteful and anything but tacky, these skeletons have serious flayvah, and some of the work is so sharp I find myself astonished by the significant talent pool of our local creative community. We have some seriously gifted artists crafting the character of our desert home, and here they shine. Masks Y Mas sits at the top of my personal echelon for gifts that proudly boast New Mexico, and I advise a visit to foreigners and locals alike. Because hey, as Pitbull rightly notes, for all we know we might not get tomorrow…

We stopped here last week during a trip to ABQ, and loved, loved, loved this store! The guys there are very helpful and the store is a treat to shop in. We spent 20 minutes with the guys discussing where we should have dinner! They gave us great recommendations and they were really nice and gracious. So many cool things at this store — If you’re in ABQ, even for just a few days, be sure to stop in!

The owner is «SONICE» at Msks Y Mas. We got a great deal on a beautiful framed painting for our new home; so happy with it, and the customer service provided there. You HAVE to check out this store; it has something for everyone, and fabulous artwork as well. It was mine and my husband;s 6th anniversary & the store owner not only gave him a military discount, but was so sweet in giving us a heart! What a refreshing change from the normal treatment of some shop owner’s in Albuquerque. Go here if you’re military or just want a taste of New Mexico, you won’t regret it! XOXOX to Mask Y Mas — I will be buying all furture gifts for friends & family at this establishment!!!

This store is RAD! It’s so radtastical that as I aimlessly wandered throughout the store with my mouth agape I kept mumbling about how much I loved Mask Y Mas. Easily my favorite stop during my exploratory journey. I loved all the luchadores masks and all the los muertos artwork. I’m hoping they get their website up and running soon so I can order some pieces and have them shipped. I could have easily spent a lot more time in this shop and spent a lot of money while I was at. If you’re going to be checking out shops near the university or off of Route 66 Masks is definitely worth the short trip over. The staff were cool and friendly. They greeted everyone as they walked through the door and would check in on people as they enjoyed the shop. It was pretty obvious they are used to people just walking around and enjoying their store. Check it out! I’m a fan!

This place is awesome. You could easily blow your vacation souveneir budget here. On one side, it’s all the dia de los muertos knick-knacks you could ever want, as well as all kinds of novelty items(their luchador mask selection is off the hook). Then, on the other side, it’s a mini-art gallery with all types of sculptures, paintings, and other beautiful and creative folk art. I especially like the selection of handmade belt buckles featuring new mexico suns, luchador faces and candy skulls. Definitely a store worth checking out while in the ABQ.

There was a lot to like here. The prices were pretty good, the art was great, and the selection was huge. I found a Frida shirt for only $ 15 and Guadalupe barrettes for $ 3, so I was pretty happy.

Best art and nik naks store in town, I’m sure of it. I could have spent all day and all paycheck there. You can get your favorite folk art doll in different sizes and materials. Super friendly and helpful sales and owners. Would love to have a show here or get some help on my limited edition giclees.
