«Mr. White, you can stop knocking. Honestly, Mr. White, the door’s open.» Yes, this is the place where Heisenberg purchased his now-infamous Pork Pie fedora, and if Larry’s in the shop, he’ll tell you the story. It’s also an absolute gem of a local business, managing to beat the Nob Hill odds for decades, and it remains a staple on the shopping strip, without bothering to post status updates on Facebook. And that’s really the magic of the place, the fifth star of the show. The place is packed, with a selection of imports ranging from beret to pillbox, and the prices reflect an exceptionally fair, consumer-minded markup. It’s the real deal, folks, the place to top yer noggin’ in this town, alongside Man’s Hat Shop downtown.

I am under 50 and shop there quite regularly. I have always been treated well and have often had items recommended as I walk in. Larry has said things like, «I just got a few wallets that go well with the suits you wear,» and«I just bought some cuff links that you will love,» and he has been right every time. I go for the cuff links, tie clasps, wallets and other vintage items and enjoy the time I spend there. I recommend this place to everyone when they ask for ideas on a great birthday gift or that something special for someone.

We were visiting from California, the lady at the store was very nice and helpful. I bought my wife 2 hats. They’re selection is great, for both women and men. I would recommend this store to anyone visiting or living in Albuquerque. I really want to go there again.

I had such a great time hanging out & talking with Larry that I bought a beautiful hat & haven’t taken it off yet. Larry encourages people to try on all the hats & there was no pressure to buy anything. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re on Central.

I buy a hat at Larry’s Hat Shop every month. Julie, Franz and Larry are the best sales people and have become good friends of mine. The selection is like no other and the craftsmanship behind Larry’s custom design hats are truly one of a kind. If Parisians visit and purchase from Larry, I think we all should! The pill box hat with netting and feathers with vintage broaches are my favourite.

Treats people as suspect, not customers. I have never been treated so badly. Hats are over priced without much of a selection.

Well, just off the plane and walking through the university /nob hill area under a burning sun I was happy to find Larry’s hat shop on central ave and it was really easy to fall in love with a hat that saved my face from burning this past weekend. Larry has hats for everyone at competitive prices and he will let you take your time to make your choice. No pressure there just the way shopping is supposed to be.

Walked by and stopped in on a whim, so glad I did! Larry is super sweet, we had a great chat while I browsed his vintage jewelry selection. Left with a GORGEOUS20s bracelet I’m in love with, and the price was fair, too. Will definitely visit again the next time I’m in Albuquerque!

Super cool store with an amazing selection of hats that range from retro/formal to goofy/party. I just wandered in here on a lark one day and walked out with a great cap(think Scots) and a brown fedora. It’s not at all hipster(or what I like to think of as «contrived») but it is totally elegant and feels authentic. The prices are good and the people at the counter are very helpful and courteous. I’ll definitely stop back in sometime for a bowler derby, another fedora, and maybe even a top hat. Great fun!

A small shop but I love all the hats and the totally awesome collection of vintage jewelry. Plus the owner, Larry, and the other lady that works here, are super nice!
