Walked in, in love with my boyfriend. Walked out more in love with their coffee. I had a maple bacon latte and he had a Mexican latte. Both were amazing! The service was quick. The product was cheap and delicious. My only issue is there’s not one in Texas.

Great local stop. We can smell when they are roasting from our apartment. Lattes and similar can be very hit or miss, depending on who’s working. Love getting to walk just a block to go here!

As much as I love living in Albuquerque, and know that I’ve found my home here, from time to time my heart still aches for San Francisco. The big little City, with quirk to spare and an almost unearthly quality, has no substitute. But once in awhile, I can pop into Michael Thomas Coffee and feel transported to my former neighborhood coffee shop by the bay. A focused intensity on good beans and coffee, intimate atmosphere, free WiFi before it was de rigueur, and the feeling that they’re here for this neighborhood – it’s like pulling on a favorite old sweater. I’m always comfortable asking questions at MTC – the low key staff are knowledgeable and unpretentious – and walk away with great coffee every time. Got a great rainy-day recommendation on hot tea that salvaged my soaked bones this afternoon. They just… DO here… and do it so well. For the price of a bag of beans or cup o’ joe, I’m back in SF for a moment. Heck of a lot cheaper than a plane ticket. And tastier, too.

Love the selection of fair trade coffee beans. Love that I can chat with knowledgable staff about what to try next(even though the Ethiopia is so perfect). Love that the coffee beans don’t spend an eternity sitting around in vacuum-sealed bags and are roasted right there by someone who actually cares(made with love from the heart, as my children say). This is one of the places that has made life livable.

We’re always on the lookout for non-Starbucks coffee so even though this was a bit out of the way, we checked it out. Very cute place with a down-to-earth feel. The coffee is roasted by them and was very good. The maple bacon latte actually came with a piece of bacon; a nice touch. Food was from local places around town. They had a nice selection though it was a bit strange to heat up my breakfast burrito in the microwave but I bet a lot of places just do the same in the back. Street parking was a bit sparse but we found a spot without too much trouble. The outdoor area looks cute but we opted for inside.

Quaint little coffee shop in the neighborhood with colorful southwest décor and design. The specialty coffee is pretty good although I didn’t much care for the blueberry muffin. Perhaps I should’ve asked for it heated up a bit. My girlfriend didn’t even want to try it after smelling it, but she loved the coffee.

I want to give this place a better rating because it’s in a cool area and the cold brew is delicious! My only problem is their customer service. I had never heard of their Japanese Cold Brew so I asked about it and it appeared to be the most frustrating question of this woman’s life. Luckily the drink is good because otherwise I would have just left.

There is so much beauty and wakefulness encompassed in these beans. You can call them Amazebeans! Nom nom. –from a former Barista.

Excellent coffee, beans, pastries. Only complaint is they still use Styrofoam! Please update to-go containers with something more green.

I’ve enjoyed some excellent cappuccini all over the planet. From Italy to Winnemucca. The cappuccino I had here this morning made me jealous of those fortunate enough to live within walking distance of this top notch coffee roaster. It was expertly crafted, smooth, and satisfying. In Italy they only have 1 size, but here they have a 4 shot large that will keep you pleasantly buzzing for a few hours. I’m going back this afternoon for another to keep me company on my drive up to Santa Fe.

This is what I’ve been looking for since I moved here from Seattle. Believe it or not, while they are our claim to fame, Starbucks is terrible. Michael Thomas reminds me of my favorite shops in Seattle, where the mood is relaxed, the walls are covered in community events, and the coffee is exotic, fresh, and made with care. Close to Kirtland AFB, and not too far from downtown, this is the perfect spot. I’ll be taking my friends and family here for sure!

There aren’t many places that do a great straight black drip coffee(me) and a nutella latte(the boyfriend) and get both right. I haven’t had a coffee drink here yet that I don’t like, and I’ve tried the gamut from Cubano to latte. The espresso is lovely, rich, and not burnt tasting, and the drip coffee is also perfectly roasted and well brewed. The atmosphere is very inviting, it’s a great place to drop by to grab something to go, or to spend a few minutes hanging out. And they have every coffee gadget you could possibly want, if you’re ever inclined to brew at home. Definitely worth the stop.

The new location is MUCH better. The seating area is very small here. Plan on getting a coffee to go. The local roasting is awesome and the best in ABQ.

Yes yes yes. I almost wanted to leave it at that and just post that as my review but I’ll elaborate for clarities sake. This place is exactly what a coffee shop should be. Delicious coffee, attentive friendly service and super funky cute atmosphere(ok the atmosphere is just the cherry on top!) So sad that I was just passing through really quickly and didn’t have time to buy a bag or ten of their in house roasted coffee. Once I got into the car and took my first sip, don’t worry, I was the passenger so no mouth gasms were had while behind the wheel, I was wishing I had gotten two coffees. One to slam in oh-my-god-finally-good-coffee-in-New-Mexico rapture, and one to savor and sip, like a rational human. Go here. Tell ‘em Breeana sent you. Drink 2 for me.

I finally made it to this place! It is tiny, definitely mum and pop shop, but worth checking it out. As any Bald Eagle Lovin ‘Murican, I went straight for the Maple Bacon Latte. I have to say it was pretty dang good. These people know their coffee. Although it’s a bit gloomy outside it would be nice to sit outside some time. They have a nice patio area shared with a yoga studio and art gallery. I’ll take one hole punch in the yippie hippie card please. Nothing a fresh shower can’t fix. I digress… I gave one extra star to make the five stars because I forgot to ask for soy then when I remembered and told the barista she was way cool with changing the order. This place is a good find, playing good mellow music, and worth checking out. No parking lot though, so find a spot on the street.

WOW! This place is the bees knees. Really. I chose iced coffee, and even the ice cubes were coffee, so it wasn’t watered down. As a sweetener, 1 pump cane syrup please, and add a shot of espresso on top. Husband’s coffee was amazing(he said). The staff is super knowledgable, friendly, and relaxed. So thankful this place isn’t a stress-fest with folks that have their panties in a bunch. I would even lean to say hippy-ish. All the items and drinks were made with superior, fresh ingredients. HIGHLYRECOMMEND(and also craving some of their caffeine right now, just writing up this review!)

There are too many outstanding coffee houses in Albuquerque to ever spend another dime at the place with the mermaid, and Michael Thomas is among the very best of the best. The vibe of the place is all laid back, in spite of the fact that they sell coffee strong enough to make you vibrate into the next dimension. They’ve got a great selection of fresh nosh, all kinds of natural or vegan or glutenless(I made that word up), or just plain old fashioned fatty animally yum in my tum. Teas, whole bean coffee, cute mugs and stuff, all waiting for you to see them and take them home. Do it!

I like this quaint little café. They offer some really delicious drinks. The first time I went, I had the maple bacon latte. It literally has a peice of bacon in it. I wasn’t a fan of a big peice of bacon in the drink(which was soft and soggy by the time I got to it), but the drink itself was good. Mapley, sweet, and topped off with bacon bits and whipped cream. Not an everyday thing. but a nice treat. I also had one of their breakfast burritos. They don’t make them in house, but whereever they got them from is awesome! I’ve since stopped by and had a regular coffee and another breakfast burrito. The flavors are out of this world, although the place that they get them from escapes me. This local café scores well in my books. Yum!

All other coffee is tremendously disappointing after Michael Thomas. I went in yesterday after a long(stupid) absence to buy some beans and get a free cup of delectable liquid manna — they call it coffee, but I disagree. It’s a delicious pour of pure heaven. We had been too busy to make it out there, and had been using beans from various other places. We will never do that again. We had basically just been pouring dark water down our throats, and this was the living proof — one sip of MT coffee and I realized what coffee was meant to be. The full flavors. The richness. The complexities. This is why people become wine snobs and cheese snobs and coffee snobs — all of which I am terribly proud to be. There is a ton of coffee out there, but that echelon of magnificence at the top — that’s what’s worth having. I don’t want to spend my life drinking something that’s just okay, that is technically what its name identifies it to be, but that does not represent the full essence of its true nature. I want the best, the tastiest, the fullest flavor and the hidden depths of excellence shunned and ignored by mass production. I will not buy second rate coffee any longer. I will make sure I take the time to drive to Michael Thomas any time my coffee needs arise. I will buy his perfectly roasted coffee and savor every luscious sip. I will be a fervent Michael Thomas supporter and share this amazing nectar of the gods with all around me. Join the revolution — drink only the best! Make your mouth happy! Go to Michael Thomas RIGHTNOW and become a believer!!!
