Foodgasm achieved!! Had a craving for New Orleans so I had to listen to my fellow Unilocalers. You all led me right! We started off with the Commanders Bread. Warm crisp garlic french bread. Yum! We shared the blackened catfish entrée and the crawfish etoufee suggested by Unilocalers and our host Lois. The catfish was perfectly seared/blackened, moist and tender. The crawfish etoufee was effin’ awesome! Couldn’t decide which dish I loved more the catfish or the etoufee, so when I overhead the table next to me order«blackened catfish with the crawfish etoufee on top» I knew I had to plan my next trip. Two thumbs up!

So this was my first Elite event of the year! I was happy to see all your shiny faces again even if I didn’t get to chat with you I was elated to see so many elites in one place. So the venue as other said was a little small for our crowd it was a shame it was too cold or we could of put the patio to good use. I felt bad for those who had to stand. I think there were good intentions going into this event but it kinda fell a little flat. The food didn’t seem put together with very much attention, it was served all together kinda cold, others had said it wasn’t a good representation so I will take that. They were doing beer samples that were on the flat side, the waitresses didn’t seem to take that input too well. They seemed a little overwhelmed. The music was a nice touch and I really enjoyed the conversations I had:) Thanks N’awlins for welcoming us to your place!

Good Unilocal deals make this place even better :) Service: Great! Appetizers: Get the commanders bread! Absolutely delicious! We had to get another basket. We got the Cajun fries as well. Also very good. Main: Crawfish étouffée– lots of crawfish and great flavor! Unfortunately I went home discovering I’m allergic to it(swollen eye, itching, runny nose, the whole bit). Dessert: best beignets I’ve ever had! Must try for this place. The sever told us the chef just made it when when we were ordering so I’ll see next time if it’s still as good. Trying the banana bread next time too. Setting: small place with a cozy, humble feel. Not super fancy and not fast food like either. The night we went, there was a guitar player/singer, who definitely added to the place. New Orleans themed art pieces on the wall that are also for sale.

Wow, my first official Unilocal event and I must say it was terrific. I enjoyed the venue and the organizers were quite accommodating. Thank you Howie for making this available. Now on to the event, the atmosphere was pleasant and I enjoyed the art. On a typical day I think it would be a bit more casual than it was for this. The servers was friendly and quite attentive. I was offered a sample of beer and must say the double-Bach was my fav. I also tried the amber and the other beer who’s name slips my mind but the only one worth ordering is the doublebach(IMO). The event was crowded so my guest and I had to stand as all seats were full so though this was an inconvenience it was still pleasant. The plate was served in a timely manner and it was delicious. I liked the ètouffè and of course the beans and rice were good too. The company was great I met a lot of great people and made new friends while we talked, ate delicious food and listen to great music. The owner spoke about his food and some background which I appreciated that and I even learned about Cajun and crèolé. Again the food was great and I enjoyed their selections of beer. N’awlins, I will most definitely be coming Bach.

I’m not sure I’d give four stars if they were in New Orleans, but in Albuquerque this is standout Cajun food. I had an oyster po’ boy and a bowl of jambalaya. I figured I’d just package up what I didn’t eat and have it the next day for breakfast. That didn’t happen – I ate all but scraps of the po’ boy and most of the jambalaya. The sandwich had eight ENORMOUS fried oysters that had a lot of juice. The jambalaya had lots of sausage, chicken, and other delectables. If it hadn’t been for the fact that I could tell a digestive torpor was coming on, I’d have had a dessert. I think this would be a fun place to come with friends so you could share dishes.

Authenic New Orleans flavor in the 505?! Yes please! This is a quaint little spot full ofcharacter. The décor and colors are exactly what you’d expect for a place boasting legit N’Awlins fare. The inside is small, but cozy and the patio is great. There’s live music often which can make things a little loud but hey– this is New Orlenas, right? The food is all delicious. Flavorful, well prepared, and filling. The menu has grown since they first opened, and it’s all been great. The only thing stopping me from giving this place 5 stars is that the service is really hit or miss. Either your service will be on point or you’ll be drinkless and dying of hunger. There is no in between.

Great food! Great atmosphere all at a good price! Went on a Saturday night and it was lively with a live guitarist busting out some good tunes. The Etouffe was filled with crawfish and the catfish was freshly fried and hit the spot! Our server Mia was super friendly and helpful! We will come back for great food and fun!

The Seafood fry is excellent. The catfish is to die for! The crab cake is super-tasty The jumbalaya is spicy! The staff is excellent, and the desserts are FANTASTIC!!! I’ve never been to a cajun restaurant per-se before. This one is very nice and worth the trip I can’t wait until springtime to be able to sit out on the patio and enjoy the other menu choices! :-)

Came here on a cross country road trip using a coupon. After 11 hours of driving it was a pleasant dinner. The dining room is tiny and the decorations are authentic to new Orleans style. My waitress, Rhonda was superfriendly and attentive, and everyone was pleasant as we walked in. I ordered the cajun jambalaya and my father ordered the fried catfish platter. The jambalaya was the real deal! Definitely order the commanders bread if you order the jambalaya or expect to d9wn 2 – 3 glasses of water with it. the catfish was delicous perfectly breaded served with some sort of sauce. It came with red wine slaw which was new to me but went well with the potato salad. I tried to order beignets but they were out. I’m sure they would have been good. Definitely worth a try if you’re in Albuquerque.

I appreciate what they’re trying to do with the old Serafin’s Chile Hut location, but they came up short. The place isn’t too much different than Serafin’s, but it’s been modified a bit for the new theme. I arrived with my friend to a parking lot with small places. So for such an empty place the lot was pretty full. Maybe overrun from the living quarters in the area? We are seated promptly but certain things are taken out of order. Not a big deal, but our server could have offered us waters while we reviewed the menu for our drink order. I mention to our server that Turbo Dog isn’t a stout. She replies yes it is. I’m not trying to argue with her at all, but I may know a few things about beer as I am a beer knurd. I’m trying to help her out and NOT argue. I even verified this information online prior to making the comment. Our drinks come in clear plastic cups, so it’s just like being on Bourbon Street? I don’t think that was the goal, but OK. The food came fairly quickly. It was good presentation. The crawfish étouffée was a good sized flavorful portion for $ 14. The appearance of the etoufee was darker than I’m accustomed to but that’s just a cosmetic thing. The door had a sign on it to keep the door shut, but one of our server’s task for the night was to keep the door shut. There was no handle on the door or closer on the door. I tried to help out with keeping the heat in, but there was nothing for me to grab onto to pull the door shut. All in all it was OK. The small issues, like staff training, bad facilities like a door closer or handle, lead questions to bigger issues that may not be apparent to a first time dinner. I’m cheering for this place, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.

First time buyers/diners here. We ordered the Shrimp Creole, Crawdad Étouffée, a Shrimp & Oyster Po Boy, Cajun Fries and the Fried Seafood Platter [to go] today. First off, it’s a quaint little place and is very clean. The young lady that took care of us did a great job and was very courteous. In my opinion, the Shrimp Creole and Crawdad Étouffée [it’s a tiny serving so definitelyorder a side] and Po Boy were great. Just like I remember from my many visits to N’awlins! The fries weren’t bad either. Here was my only complaint but it’s a big deal to me. Folks? I’ve never had worse tasting fried oysters in all of my days! [?] And, I know my oysters! They left the nastiest, most bitter aftertaste that I just couldn’t shake! Even after sucking on strategically placed mints! What’s more, I’ve never chewed on more sand/silt in oysters — EVER! Talk about a SAND-WICH! Four of us tried them and all adamantly agreed. I was forced to pick them off of our Po Boy since all refused them at that point. But, the Po Boy was great once they were pulled off. So overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. We were fairly satisfied but, if I’m going to spend 65 bucks + on a N’awlins lunch, I’m gonna head back to Pappadeaux. I would have taken pictures of our meals but, «to-go,» foods aren’t exactly photogenic. That wouldn’t have been fair to the business. P. S., they’re not flexible at all on substitutions so don’t even try it folks!

N’awlins is a good place to visit for lunch if your near campus. We sat outside in the patio area, I really like the New Orleans style and the staff were extremely friendly. The bread was addictive! Honestly I was very disappointed in the oyster Po’ Boy. The oysters had a dirty/slimy taste to them but the jambalaya was pretty good. I also had the chef’s special which was blackened filet mignon over asparagus served with rice. The filet mignon and rice had a lot of flavor but the asparagus didn’t have any flavor and was smothered in butter.

Time to get together for some N’awlins cuisine! We met some friends here for lunch and I really didn’t know what I wanted but I jumped into the menu and did my best. As we were narrowing our choices, my friend pointed out that they have New Orleans beer here which is definitely some props right off the bat. The kind and knowledgeable waitress made her way back and let us know about the specials, one of which caught my attention. Everyone gave her their orders and when it got to me I figured I’d give that special a try. It was an Oyster Po’ boy and wow did it come out with a bang! This thing is huge! You cannot close this Po’ boy up no matter who you think you are, so don’t even try. I had to tackle it with my fork and at least get it to be a manageable size. I’ll say right away that I should have known my taste buds better because I’m not a huge fan of oysters. These were certainly fresh, and the side of cajun fries was tremendous, but maybe I should have gotten something else on the menu. Nevertheless, this place still gets 4 stars in my book because I know it was genuine and fresh and I know if I would have gotten something that I know I like, it would have been awesome. Just looking at the pictures from other people’s reviews is getting me itching to go back.

Very disappointed! Flavor of the gravy was good. Crawfish Étouffée was not the best but the Shrimp Creole was delicious! Ordered an Oyster Po Boy — was given a Shrimp Po Boy. Let the waitress know we were given the wrong order and asked for a Fried Oyster so we could try them. Was told we would have to pay an additional $ 2.00 each. To her credit, the waitress did give us One Oyster to share. It was good! Portions were small. Prices were high for what you got. Service was ok. Probably will not be back and will most likely not recommend…

We were told about this restaurant by several people, so we went on Saturday night. As soon as we walked up, we were greeted with a smile. There was live music outside, and the patio was full of people, so we decided to sit inside. Every single employee we passed said hello. We grabbed a little table in a purple and yellow room, covered in paintings of New Orleans. We love our beer, and they had a good selection of beers on tap, a few we hadn’t heard of. The waiter was super helpful, asking what kind of beer we like, and brought us samples of something he thought we’d like(he was right!). He did the same for our meals. We ordered the Commander Basket of Bread, Blackened Catfish, and Jambalaya. Blackened Catfish — I usually don’t order fish, but I decided to try it on the waiter’s suggestion. The catfish tasted very fresh, had a ton of flavor, and it was cooked well. The rice that it was served with was flavorful and had pieces of chicken. It was served with a lemon covered in cajun spices… Really brought the flavors together! Jambalaya — I’m a Red Beans & Rice kind of girl, but per the waiter’s suggestion, this is like a step up. It had sausage, chicken, rice, all covered with a cajun sauce. It was delicious! It definitely had that cajun spice. Dipping the bread in it was amazing. For dessert, we ordered the bread pudding. It was a giant slice, drenched with a lemon rum sauce. It was good, but a little rich, and we couldn’t finish it. Overall, we were very happy with the whole experience, and have already recommended it to our friends! Will return to try some of the other items.

Was almost like going to New Orleans, very casual. That’s the ambience of this establishment– very laid back. The étouffée was nicely seasoned but the drinks were served in plastic cups. The chili sauce in the table was a generic brand so i have to wonder if all the ingredients used is subpar. The server and workers there are nice and seem happy. Will go back another time to try their patio seating.

All of a sudden, the Duke City is getting dirty dirty with Cajun flayvuh. I can’t understand why this didn’t happen earlier, seeing as we’re a similar species out here, we’re down for some tasty rice ‘n beans and hot burnin’ love on our plates, but whatever, my arms are open wide. Come bless us with your culinary goodness, N’awlins. Potential, potential, potential. This little shack, which has seen more than its share of failed restauranteurs in the past, seems ripe for the concept these guys are pushing. I appreciated the menu, really liked my catfish and the shrimp remoulade was fine, but after speaking with the manager I’m going to nudge ‘em to really expand the good times vibe, because the atmosphere seems to beg for, well, a party. They have some solid beer choices and a patio ready for a seafood boil, so why not make the place more family and group-friendly, with entrees that’ll feed a posse and, you know, invite what the French Quarter is famous for? It seems like the perfect locale, just beyond Snob Hill, where us vagrants are itchin’ to wander.

Had to try as we were familiar with Chef Eddie Adams back in the day, so we were rather giddy about seeing what was up his sleeve with another one of his new adventures. N’Awlins is located in East Nob Hill at a corner location, the outside is very festive & inviting. The inside décor is fun and creates good colorful vibes of New Orleans :) Our server was very sweet with letting us know about all the selections for lunch. We ordered a Po’boy Sandwich which was rather skimpy with regards to the fish, we were actually really shocked as it was loaded with lots of rabbit food(Lettuce, Tomato & pickle) very disappointed :(we also ordered a cup of Gumbo as this was a little on the bland side and lacking in bold cajun flavors we mentioned to our server, we definitely wanted to let them know as they can address these issues with the Chef to fix as this place definitely deserves a second chance as all businesses go through the phases of opening. We found the prices to be about right, sure we would like them less expensive, but know we all need to survive. Im also not a fan of being served out of paper cups, plastic utensils or even plastic bowls, I believe that really discounts the integrity of a business. We will return and give it a try down the road…
