I have mixed reviews of this place. I’ve gone in and no one has helped me… and then I’ve gone in and everyone has helped me. This most recent time, the guy was super helpful. But the times that no one has acknowledged me left a bad taste in my mouth. The prices are decent. They have a large selection of bicycles, accesories, clothing, and biking shoes.

I was interested in purchasing a new road bike(new rider) for me and a bike for my daughter. Thomas– greeted us as we came in, I explained I was new to cycling and knew NOTHING! Thomas took his time! His love of biking shown through as he taught me the beginnings of cycling and shifting! He also taught my daughter the basics of riding! I’m very excited to ride…

I had been researching several bikes online. I was pretty sure the bike I wanted was there. They had a good selection but, the sales people ignored me for a long time. When they finally did help me they sounded almost bothered. Saturday I bought an over 600. 00 bicycle form Trek a Cannondale Big boy.

Don’t waste your time at this location. No one welcomes you as you enter, no help while looking for what you need or want. Employees texting and talking behind the counter. This place is an absolute joke.

This place is a national chain and no reviews on Unilocal?!?Interesting… Not sure if that says good things about them or bad. I came here over a month ago with my father to choose a bicycle for myself and noticed a big sale was going on. Having little to no familiarity with bikes since, oh, I was about 14, I didn’t know one bike from another and sought assistance. I explained to the guy who helped me that I’m looking to get into biking again and wasn’t looking for anything technical; I only need a bike to get around town and the occasional trail. So he directed me to a path and pavement bike from GT that was on sale for around $ 500, a savings of $ 150. He emphasized that it wasn’t the most expensive bike and was reasonable for my needs. Fair enough. I took it for a test drive and it felt fine and so I decided I might as well buy it. Only problem was that the store didn’t have the bike in my size, something they took great care in determining and for that I’m appreciative, and so I’d have to special order the bike. I was able to complete the order online and pick up the bike a week later. However, during this interim, I did a little research and asked a good number of biking enthusiasts about the priced I’d paid, Performance Bikes, and general thoughts on the bike. Most people shared a common belief: Performance Bike hikes up the prices on their bikes significantly, so the price I paid was probably regular price. This knowledge left me a bit bothered, but I was comforted in knowing I at least paid regular price and not over. When my bike arrived, the staff couldn’t find my bike and left me waiting a good thirty minutes, when they then found it where they’d looked several times. They apologized and promised to use a whole crew to quickly put the bike together. This they did, but when I got home I found they hadn’t properly tightened the seat so I had to tinker with this myself. Finally, considering the fact that I’d warned them about my unfamiliarity with bikes due to my 15 year hiatus, I would have appreciated some advice on getting the back tire on and off and a heads up about the Presta valves on the tires. Which reminds me, I got a flat on day one and visited The Bike Coop. An employee there looked at my tube, saw the puncture and quickly determined it had been caused by the tape inside the rim being misaligned. This was an error Performance was responsible for and it cost me extra money to fix. Thus, my overall feelings about this place are mixed. I did get some useful advice and the customer service was reasonable. However, I am concerned about the mark-ups on the bikes and products and the shoddy form in which they assembled my bike. For what I paid here, I think my first instinct in the future will be to look at local shops first.
