I love Pop Fizz! My favorite paleta is the coconut and my nieces love the watermelon flavor. They also have sandwiches for lunch.

Great ice cream. Unique ice cream bars like pumpkin pie… and they put whipped cream on it. Supercool owner!

Love this place for a quick bite during the day at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Tucked into a corner of the Center’s Education Building(Dominici Building), the guys at Pop Fizz offer delicious fruit paletas and interesting sandwiches. While many rave about the carne asada fries, I am partial to the Sonoran hotdog and the Cuban sandwich. Both are generously filled with lots of good things.

Great little shop. Was surprised to see all they had to offer. They have pastries, candies, and ice cream. I was pleased to know that their paletas are vegan friendly. Even their cookies and cream is made from non dairy products which is nice since I’m lactose. Their choco-tacos were huge and have an assortment of flavors like vanilla, strawberry, chocolate and cookies and Crème. I had to try a bite of one and it was delicious although the shell is thicker than my preference is was still tasty. Our attendant was friendly and knowledgeable and even gave me a free sample of a new paletas they are trying out. Spinach, kale, apples and banana. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone willing to try a new venue for desert. 5 star all the way.

The staff is fantastic and all of their pops are really good. They have a food truck that goes around to different big events around ABQ. They have a wide variety of flavor a including avocado and carrot. They also have really good food. I got the green chile cheese and steak burrito and a chocolate pop. They also have a wide variety of sodas.

Fabulous!!! The others are right, the carne asada fries are amazing! The horchata taco was exquisitely delicious too. No one in the party had anything less than super good, but some other favorites were the peppermint taco, green chili philly, pecan with caramel popsicle, and the mango popsicle. You really can’t go wrong with anything they offer! I can’t wait to go back!!!

Recently, I went back to visit Pop Fizz. I don’t live in Albuquerque anymore which is a shame because I would be at Pop Fizz every day! I ALWAYS get their carne asada fries which are the BEST! But their paletas continue to impress me every time. This particular time I had the pleasure of tasting their newest flavor(at the time) Pumpkin Pie made with REAL pumpkin! This flavor immediately landed itself on my list of favorite paletas flavors ever! So good! Make sure you guys give Pop Fizz a try!

Abq, Local, N.M. I love the unique flavor combinations they offer for the popsicles. After having the cherry and dark chocolate popsicle I was blown away. My girlfriend got a popsicle as well and it had caramel surrounded by something that taste like horchata. Both were superb. We also got some food. The frito pie and carne asada fries. I did ask for no onions on the frito pie, unfortunately it had onions mixed throughout the lettuce, and at the bottom which seemed a bit purposeful, but I’ll get over it because the frito pie had nacho cheese, pork, and lettuce. It was just as good as the fries. I can’t remember what they had on them, but also great flavor. I can’t wait to go back and try the pumpkin popsicle, and the different flavor choco tacos.

This place and what they offer is top notch. The location is a bit out of the way unless you live downtown. They create such good tastes, flavors in their paletas. I have come here 3 times now bringing someone new with me. I think their best one is watermelon… but I’m bias. Choco tacos are a must, I usually bring one with me back home ha! I have seen them and their Pop Fizz-Mobile around town and now that the weather is soooo wonderful(October!) I can keep enjoying their offerings.

This place is such a sweet delight! The churro ice cream taco is the ultimate. If they are out of those I usually check out a new popsicle flavor like avocado. Their new home in the Hispanic Cultural Center is convenient for dessert and a look at the new art show. I also see their cart or truck at tons of events like the Railyards Market. This place is a must try.

«Come tu paleta, come tu paleta, come dos, come tres, come tu paleta.» Let me start off by saying Wow!, this place is amazing. The guys here stir up some of the best flavors of ice cream and paletas(Mexican popsicles) that I’ve ever had. And what is better? This place is locally owned. I got my first taste of Pop Fizz when I met up with them at the Railyards farmers market. They are there every Sunday by the way. I had the pleasure of trying one of their delicious house-made ice cream tacos. I don’t eat ice cream or sweets for that matter very often, but I made a complete pig of myself here: it was like heaven in a waffle shell. I recently visited their new location at the Hispano cultural center and discovered that they now make«Adult»(alcoholic) paletas. They currently have mimosa and sangria flavor but are working on more. They have a multitude of different snacks and sweets as well. Definitely give these guys a shot, you will not regret it. I wish them all the luck in the future as they have the right ingredients to melt the hearts of all the sweet lovers out there. Don’t be surprised if you end out eating dos o tres paletas.

Absolutely delicious! Checked out their store after enjoying their ice cream tacos out of their truck several times. The service was amazing, my daughter wanted an ice cream cone, they were out so they went and made one fresh. Incredibly friendly and attentive. We went for ice cream but couldn’t resist trying their food offerings as well, so glad we did! Their carne asada fries were some of the best fries I’ve ever had! The fries themselves were crispy and salty on the outside and soft on the inside, and the toppings were awesome. Can’t wait to go back and try something new!

I’ve had the opportunity to talk with the owners and appreciate their commitment to all that’s good; education, family, entrepreneurship — and mainly the ingredients in their products! Not only do the ingredients make for a deliciousness that’s beyond the stuff you typically find in the grocery freezer, these paletas are probably good for you — albeit in moderation. What’s that BEAUTIFUL Taco Shaped creamy yumminess called? I want one NOW!

Pop Fizz embodies every lick of what a successful local biz should embody in Albuquerque. A few years ago, the place set up shop on Bridge avenue in what I consider the gateway to the South Valley, near the best taco shop in town(El Paisa). It was a family-run gig: dad was a public school teacher who helped set up shop, and the kids crafted the goods, which were a kind of hybrid of sweet frozen treats inspired by Mexican tradition, with modern American influence. If you’re visiting our awesome city from another place, please note that the South Valley keeps it Real: if you don’t speak Spanglish, prepare to try. That said, the family that runs Pop Fizz are happy to translate. They’re endlessly gregarious. What these guys have accomplished, man, it’s all about perseverance. They’ve schlepped paletas in a little cart to virtually every major civic event and festival around town, and in the process trained local palates to anticipate a little chile with their icy cold treats. They’ve worked tireless hours promoting the brand and, in time, word on the street has been solid. A couple months back I took my daughter to the old storefront only to discover that it had moved to the Hispanic Cultural Center. I was really happy for the business, and my daughter was supremely pissed. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything coming out of this place. Go conservative with a strawberry or mango popsicle, or get adventurous with something more diverse. The ice cream is good. The candies are legit. The sodas are unique. Many of the flavors you’ll taste are locally-sourced. And the move to the Hispanic Cultural Center is so apt, so sensible, such a terrific opportunity for the future of the brand. And yeah, I’m remiss that they aren’t located at the gateway anymore, but I couldn’t be more happy for their success. I love supporting this local gem, and you will, too.

We visited Pop Fizz for the first time last week and returned a few days later! They have a great variety of Paletas and you have the option of getting your paleta dipped in milk, white, or dark chocolate. My favorite paleta so far is Mexican Chocolate. By one of the staff members recommendation, on our second visit, I tried the Matcha Mint paleta dipped in milk chocolate and it was amazing! They also have frito pie, sandwiches, and a delicious hot dog called The Sonora hot dog! It was big enough to share & it was made to order! We are big fans of this place! We’ll be visiting Pop Fizz on a regular basis!

Pop Fizz recently relocated to a new spot inside the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This a wonderful family-owned business that is committed to the South Valley community. As someone who spends about ¼ of my year in Mexico, I can say that their products are faithful to the tradition of paletas(ice cream/popsicles) and aguas frescas found throughout the country. It’s always a pleasure to stop in and chat with these great people and to see what they have on the menu.

Don’t know what a paleta is? An amazing Mexican Popsicle! Unique flavors such as peanut butter curry and pineapple habanero are available for the adventurous among you, but you can also get conventional flavors such as strawberry, lime, and cookies and cream. Do not skip the aguacate(avocado) if they have it. It is a frozen green piece of heaven! They are located in the Hispanic Cultural Center, so you can combine with an educational activity. Or not.
