I spent about 8 hours in the ER at the main Presbyterian hospital on Central, and that was possibly one of the most the most miserable times of my life. When I had to return to the ER, I decided to try this one because of the horrible practices and unsanitary conditions at the main branch. At first, I was highly irritated with the placement of the sign directing patients where to go. It was small, placed right at the door opening and faced toward the row of chairs on the left of the entrance. Obviously I didn’t see it so I went to the front desk and the girl sitting there kind of blew me off like«duh, read the sign and have a seat, we’ll be with you in a moment» I had a seat and waited. There was not a single person at the front desk checking in, but the girl I spoke to was deep in discussion with the young man sitting behind the desk with her(I assume he was also an employee). Since they were not calling anyone up, I figured maybe there was an alternate station where they registered incoming patients. I was wrong. Finally, after about 8 minutes(which is a VERY long flippin time when you have sick people waiting) she finished her conversation and called the next person to register them. This experience alone would make me want to give a one star review. In fact, I would happily give less than one star given my first impression of her attitude and lack of urgency to get people registered to be seen. Now I will explain why(and who) made me change my mind to 4 stars(which would have been 5 but the front desk thing still bothered me) When I was finally called back, Corbin(a paramedic tech who’s name I probably misspelled) was very polite and processed me quickly. He was informative and walked me through every step of everything he was doing. Starting an IV, taking some specimen tubes, administering saline… Communication folks. It goes a long way when you’re sick, and miserable. They got me into a comfortable bed in a private room fairly quickly, and the team of nurses and Drs who helped me were phenomenal. I don’t remember all the names, but Sean was one of the nurses, Wilke(MD) was the initial Dr and when his shift ended, I was followed up with Alisha(PA). I also had several other individuals who all made me feel comfortable, calm and kept my misery levels as low as possible. The man who took me back for CT scan was amazing and I could tell that he made my comfort his first priority. In fact, all of them did. They let me stay in my comfortable warm clothes. I was so glad they didn’t make me change into one of those humiliating hospital rags, especially because i was freezing. They didn’t make me get up and walk halfway across the hospital for my CT scan(like they did at the main hospital) they wheeled me over and there was no wait(whereas the main branch made me sit in a disgusting little room with a television turned up too loud for 30 minutes while I waited to be scanned) and more importantly, I was allowed to keep my private room until discharge. The main branch kicked me out of a private room as soon as they could and made me sit in an uncomfortable chair while I was in pain, in a room with a dozen other patients some who were so loud and obnoxious I was about to just rip out my IV and leave. After all is said and done, I was much happier with this location, and if I have to go back to the ER again, I will choose Kaseman. The only reason for not writing a negative review for the main branch on Central is that I cannot give zero stars in a review, but if anyone reading reviews is between decisions on which location to visit, choose this location, because the other is filthy, and the employees there have horrible bedside manners. At Kaseman, it is obvious that the staff wants to make you comfortable and help you feel better. Well, aside from the idiot girl at the front desk. So when you are sick and the last place you want to be is in the ER, this is probably the best one you could choose.

I realize this Presbyterian location is under construction, but GEEZE. The bathroom facilities are a lost cause(extremely unsanitary for a hospital) and the waiting room looks like they gave up on it. Never mind the fact that the dept I had to go to is very understaffed and they were exceptionally late for my appointment(almost 2 hours!!). Was required to get there 45 minutes before my appointment then ended up twiddling my thumbs when I could’ve stayed at work longer. MAJOR thumbs down!
