I’ve eaten at this location a number of times while running errands downtown, and the service is generally very good. Up until my last visit(which I shall detail shortly), I’d had nothing but pleasant experiences in terms of service and quality of the food I received. However, when I visited this Quizno’s today, I experienced all manner of troubles. While the girl at the cash register was very efficient and courteous, the word«efficient» did not apply to the action going on behind the counter. Of the three people making sandwiches, two appeared to be first-day trainees with no clue what they were doing. The skill of the one non-trainee could not offset the sluggishness and numerous mistakes made by the other two. This is at NOON at a downtown location, folks! All told, I waited over 30 minutes for my sandwich, as did the two people in line before me, and the half dozen or so people who placed orders after me. I noticed multiple orders were screwed up by the preparation staff, including my own sandwich(they added copious amounts of lettuce, despite my sandwich not supposed to have any). A fourth sandwich making person arrived around the time I got my sandwich, but he was no help — all he did was stand around looking dumbfounded, occasionally performing irrelevant tasks like placing a few extra sodas into the refrigerated display near the register. It got so bad that the poor cashier girl had to essentially cut off anyone else who wanted a sandwich, and she ran back to the preparation counter to help them out. Sandwiches started flowing faster, but obviously a number of customers left because there was nobody to take orders. Before today, I would have given this Quizno’s a full 5 star rating. The sandwiches have always been carefully and skillfully prepared, and the service has always been as snappy as you could expect for a toasted sub joint. However, the fatal mistake of staffing your noon rush hour with newbies cost them a number of customers, and resulted in my receiving a very sloppy and incorrect sandwich. It’s a good thing I was in no hurry today(which is more than I can say for the majority of customers at this location, who are downtown business people on rather short lunch breaks), and that I am a forgiving sort of guy. The bottom line, however, is that I had to wait even longer than I would have at a sit-down restaurant, and the food I received was not up to par for the $ 10 I dropped on the sandwich. I will return to this Quizno’s later and give it another shot, and possibly revise this review. Until then, don’t go here if you are on a tight schedule.
