So disappointed. I heard so much about Sadie’s and we finally made it tonight. Chips were delicious. My brisket tacos were delicious. But they don’t serve rice because«New Mexico doesn’t grow rice so Sadie decided not to include rice on the menu». Instead, the sides were beans & papas(like the breakfast side dish). Both were very bland even with a ton of salt dumped on them. My husband’s dish was ground beef over thick sliced bread. The meat was very dry and bland without the sauce all over it. Unfortunately everything is spicy so he couldn’t have any sauce over it. We actually returned it and manager took it off the bill. Kinda funny he offered different dish like tacos… Why would he want tacos with the same tasteless meat? Oh yeah. A lot is spicy. I love spicy but just so you know… NM meal cannot end without sopapias. Theirs came WITH the dinner rather than after. It’s big and pretty thick compared to others I had. I liked their sopapias for being more like a soft bread than air pockets. So if you want good chips and spicy salsa and solid sopapias, Sadie’s is the spot but no Bueno for the dinners. Overpriced and very bland. $ 11 for two tacos dinner; $ 16 burrito. No gracias.

The BEST New Mexican food I’ve had yet. I got the«small» nachos and they are enough to make four meals out of– you can split the toppings, I tried the brisket and the ground beef. The brisket is melt in your mouth. The queso is fantastic as well. Best of all is the kind and attentive service– shout out to Joann for being so helpful and to the hostess who ran after me with my to-go bag of chips when I almost forgot them!

We ate here later in the week so I had a few other places to compare. The salsa was excellent. Everywhere we went, I was told that the green chile sauce is the hottest, but I didn’t think it was that spicy. Sadie’s was definitely spicier than the others I had, but not to the point of overpowering the dish. They’re very busy, an plan on an hour + to complete your meal. We were visiting with family, so it wasn’t a problem.

Driving on the road for many hours, we Unilocaled for a place to eat before we hit Albuquerque. Alot of places were closed or closed early. We were gonna hit that city around 8 – 8:30. Luckily this Sadie’s was open till 10 so we gave it a shot. For starters, chips and salsa were brought to our table, the salsa was amazing. good taste and some spiciness to it. Good start. Since we still had 12 hours of driving left, I figured it just get beef brisket enchiladas, added the 3rd cause enchiladas are usually small. Mistake on my part, the were thick with meat, sauce ontop was really good. Beans and cut up potatoes were great. My friend ordered the sopapillo and that was a huge portion and was greatly, greatly satisfied. I will definitely come back and try a sopapillo when I have time to digest it. Great experience

After a long day of driving, we stopped in Albuquerque for the night. Our hotel is right across from Sadies and we wanted to try some«southwestern style» food. The staff was very attentive and Our server, Joann, was the BEST server I have ever had in my life. I have been a server myself at various different restaurants for over 10 years so I naturally pay attention to the service when I go out. Joann went above and beyond to make us comfortable and well taken care of. She knew we were tired and hungry just by looking at our faces. She anticipated every need of ours before we had to ask. She gave us great food recommendations. The food was outstanding and succeeded every one of our expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant and suggest asking to be sat in Joanns section. Take care of her because she will most definitely take care of you, as will the rest of the staff.

The salsa served with chips is amazing, hotter then most places, but great. I loved everything about this place. The food, the customer service, the atmosphere. I would definitely make a stop here next time I’m passing by.

This place is TERRIBLE. There is nothing good to say about it. The meat is plain and gross. They serve basically baked beans and not refried. They also give you potatoes as if it’s some breakfast dish. Lastly, it gave us food poisoning. The salsa was the only mildly decent item. Worst $ 36 I’ve spent in a long time. We purposely left out take home box on the table. We will never go back. Go to the Owl Café right next door, it’s 100 times better.

The only reason this place gets a one star is the Sopapillas. Everything else was disappointing and extremely bland. Watching someone passing by snag a chip out of the almost buffet like looking chips and salsa arrangement was unsettling. Would rather have Taco Bell, and that’s saying a lot. EDIT: PS if you enjoy food poisoning for 24 hours after a meal, Sadie’s is perfect for you. Never. Again.

We stopped by on our way through town. The food was decent but hit or miss. The brisket was quite good while the ground beef was almost flavorless. Almost everything was a bit overpriced($ 4.19 for a small side of guacamole, but only $ 2.59 for a loaded brisket taco) however the portions were large. We most likely wouldn’t come back but it may be worth trying if you’re hungry.

Our night didn’t start out great but ended amazing. We went to Sadie’s and had a group of 7 on Saturday night. Came in and were sitting for about 35 mins or so when the manager came to inform us our order ticket had been misplaced. She was professional and very generous. She quickly got our orders out to us, discounted our meal greatly and gave us a gift card for our future visit. We highly enjoyed our visit and the food was amazing as always. We really appreciate your service and restaurant. We will be returning soon.

My favorite place to eat in Albuquerque. I bring all of my family and friends from out of town here for great food, represents New Mexico in a good light! I’ve had good and great service here depending on the server and how busy it is. I’ve ordered take out and it’s just as delicious at home as it is in the restaurant. The silver coin margarita is the best and the taco salad has all the best ingredients.

Since moving, whenever I come back to visit Albuquerque I have a strong tendency to go to Sadie’s. I always get the same thing as well: Stuffed Sopapilla ala carte with the hamburger patty with Christmas on the side! The green and red chile here are so flavorful! You can’t go wrong with either one. That’s why I get both!(Christmas is the official term here in New Mexico) The service here is also wonderful. They are super quick to help refill any drinks or empty salsas. Our empty glasses of water would never sit more than 2 minutes before someone noticed. I was surprised at how quick they were despite the huge crowds during lunch. This place never disappoints. The portions are great and the prices are decent! They have a friendly staff as well that make the dining experience that much better.

I was told to try Sadies for authentic Mexican food. I was a little put off by the prices, since I was there for lunch, and the majority of entrees were in the $ 12 – 16 range. Then I saw the size of the portions… Definitely not a place to go if you’re watching your calories. I had the carne adovada burrito. It was good and very spicy. The service was very good and made up for the steep prices. Also, the salsa they serve with the chips is one of the best I’ve ever had.

Sadie’s is a New Mexico classic. I’m amazed this place seems to go on forever. It’s a huge location and the tables are filled. The food is what the locals call New Mexican but it’s really Tex-Mex with chile. Honestly the food won’t bring me back. Iceberg lettuce, shredded mild cheese, and less than stellar tortillas. It’s fine food. It’s hearty and the portions are massive. I don’t see anything special or unique on the menu. The flavor is good but there is nothing stand out. I can see this as comfort food and enjoyable but it’s also easily forgettable. I want higher quality ingredients and for better flavor will sacrifice massive quantities. The service however was amazing. Friendly people everywhere. New Mexican hospitality at its finest! Awesome staff and servers.

There is nothing like the original location on 4th Street in the bowling alley. As they have grown the food has stayed stayed at the same quality and serving size. It continues to be spicy and good. Service can vary from location to location.

We go to Sadie’s all of the time and we love it! The salsa served with the chips is hotter than a lot of other restaurants but it is yummy. My favorite is the spicy ground beef stuffed sopapilla a la carte(which is a much better value than the dinner plate). The portions are huge and we always end up taking home leftovers. The service is almost always fantastic, and prices are affordable considering the free chips and amount of food.

First of all this place has the best salsa! Just the right amount of spice to it and you can find it at the grocery store too! Impress your friends and family with their salsa. As far as the food here, it is really good new mexican food. They serve huge portions so come hungry or take some home for left overs to last days! Love both the red and green chile sauces here, cant go wrong with either one. Good service here, fast and friendly and reasonable prices.

This restaurant was extremely disappointing. I’ve eaten at the 4th st location many times but many years ago and I used to crave this place. What happened? It tastes like fast food. The flour tortilla was exactly as I remember from Taco Bell and the short rib inside was not very flavorful or hot. Looks like this is my last time at this long time New Mexican restaurant.
