This place is definitely different and a total hidden gem. I have heard about this place for a while now but really never got around to trying it till I had a massive craving for some good fish tacos. The Fish and shrimp tacos here are excellent. The chile caribe was also a good take on a Mexican version of a jalapeño popper and the shrimp ceviche was the best I have had in Albuquerque. Prices are pretty reasonable and overall a great spot. They also have a salsa bar with quite a variety of salsas all ranging in heat levels.

Sharky’s is the best burrito I have ever had. Everything tastes fresh and has the right amount of kick. From the exterior it seems simple but that is what makes it perfect. A little secret right off central Avenue with killer, authentic Mexican. The staff is friendly and the service is speedy. Next time I’m in town I will be coming back.

Drove really far out for a few fish tacos. The prices are great. The service was pleasant, but I can have fish tacos closer to home.

Awesome shrimp tacos proving once and for all that great tasting food doesn’t have to be complex. Simple food prepared properly from quality ingredients will always win out over high end cuisine. These little nuggets were 2 of the tastiest tacos I’ve ever had, bar none. The deep fried, shrimp stuffed jalapeños poppers on the other hand, while good, were a bit of a let down. I just think they needed a more savoury and dense cheese stuffing. Overall though, wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to go back.

This is an excellent place to get a Mexican, tropical eating experience. The outdoor setting along with the artificial moisture, give Sharky’s a great atmosphere perfect for eating fish tacos with friends.

Sharky’s is a local Mexican food restaurant that aims at bringing the taste of the ocean to Duke City. The venue is different than most with the whole experience taking place outside under a blue, tent-like canopy with picnic tables which creates a laid-back ambiance. The excellent service and the quality low-cost food are two of the reasons Sharky’s is a must for Albuquerque inhabitants and visitors alike.

My first time here since it first opened. I was underwhelmed the first time. This time, wow! I only had the shrimp tostada, and the octopus tostada. But, boy they were good! Messy but GOOD! They both had lots of seafood, cucumbers onions and avocados. The sauces were good though I don’t know exactly what they were. One looked/tasted like hot sauce, one tasted like lime, and what ever that white sauce was… I don’t know, but I wanted more! The 4 stars is strictly for the taste/quality of the food. The stand and outdoor seating leave a bit to be desired. Some people remember this place for Lumpy’s, but I remember it for being a Blake’s Lotaburger. Glad to have Sharkey’s in it’s place! Gotta go back soon!

A tourist here on business, and Unilocal a huge HELP! I escaped old town’s many restaurants to Sharkey’s based on the reviews and I really wanted authentic. Only minutes from Old Town. My main goal was fish tacos and ceviche. Both were fantastic! I am more accustomed to Peruvian style ceviche, but the Mexican style did not disappoint. I asked them to make is spicy and they delivered, but still very tasty, not just hot. The fish tacos also very tasty — lightly battered and 2 were plenty. As far as authentic, the real deal. Picnic tables, friendly staff and background(not too loud) Mexican music. I have 2 more days here and will definitely be back!

This is authentic Mexican food– NOT New Mexican… And it is GREAT! Carlos, the owner can open a beer with his eye, and he makes a MEAN Fish taco… Great people, great outdoor palapa seating… I LOVEIT

We had lunch here. It is a nice setting in old town and we especially enjoyed the patio. The service was excellent and the food was good, but not great. We had Backstreet nachos and pork enchillada.

Sharky’s. I almost died in Cabo San Lucas. I blame it on the shrimp tacos with pico de gallo. My friends blame it on all inclusive chardonnay. Whatever: D It’s been three years and I still get a little woozy eating fish tacos. But I can’t stay mad at fish tacos. Sharky’s makes some damn fine fish tacos, excellent carñe asada tacos, and a really yummy fried and bacon-wrapped jalapeño. They have a fresh salsa bar, too. I gotta admit, I couldn’t try it. Almost dying in Mexico makes you not trust fresh salsa bars. Sharky’s is super clean. I’m sure the salsa bar is trustworthy. I can, apparently stay mad at salsa. The food is really good and priced wicked fair. The ambiance is nice. I was there mid-Summer and the shaded seating area was misted and fresh. Going back and eventually having some of that salsa.

Ate there last evening passing thru on our way home to Phoenix. The wife and I had the shrimp burritos, our 7 yr old had the beef tacos and our 6 yr old had the fish burger. Shrimp burritos were very good. Just the right amount of spice. Shrimp was fried, but cooked just right. The fish burger was good, again properly cooked. Beef tacos were traditional street tacos– just right. Service was prompt and friendly, place was clean and neat, seating was outdoor but covered. We will go back the next time we pass thru. Check it out.

Albuquerque needs more places like this; great food and a fun atmosphere! Really love the fish tacos and the asada tacos that we had. I think my favorite part was the vibe; big blue picnic tables under a shade structure with blue sun sails — it has a very beachy vibe. Would love to see the right band under this tent/cover. One issue that I hope the owner(very nice man, but I forgot his name) can solve. The City is not letting him sell beer, I guess because he does not have any interior seating. We should all help him get approved somehow… online petition anyone? We need to support local business and make it easier for them to compete. I noticed a beer or two in the photos here. Do they allow you to BYOB? I know there are some provisions for this in the liquor laws. Good luck, Sharky’s! May you continue to ride this awesome wave!

Yay, Sharky’s. Fresh seafood and really nice people. We had the shrimp tostadas, fish taco, carnitas taco, and raw oysters. All were very good. There’s a mister to keep you cool in the attractive outdoor seating area.

I’ll admit that I was a little skeptical at first. I wasn’t sure what to order either. But I did know that I am always down for a good shrimp taco. I ordered one of those and a shrimp cocktail. Both were nothing less than fantastic. Staff was super friendly. I liked the décor too. Reminded me of eating at a taco stand in Miami or San Diego. The owner even gave us a sample of sea snail. Was good. I couldn’t get over what I was eating tho and just allowed my date to eat the rest. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to others. Three thumbs up! ;)

This place is AWESOME. Seriously, check it out. Yes, it’s west of the river(don’t be a wimp), and yes, it looks like a dive. In my book, though, those things are pluses, not minuses. Everyone at the place is friendly, and everything you could possibly order will rock your world. But nothing is better than the chile caribe. A chile, stuffed with shrimp and cheese, then wrapped in bacon and deep fried. Oh. My. God. It’s been six months since I left ABQ, and I’m still thinking about it. GO.

In my quest for the areas best tacos I decided to make a quick stop by Sharky’s and grab a couple tacos. Very friendly service, everyone was all smiles and the guy taking my order was more than happy to answer the few questions that I had. I ordered two beef tacos to go as I was in a hurry to get back on the road. My tacos were brought out pretty quickly and I doused them with a couple of sauces from the little condiment stand before hopping into my ride and heading out. Heading up Central I could smell a delectable aroma coming from my passenger seat… MEAT! I had planned on pulling over somewhere to wolf down these little tacos but couldn’t resist eating while driving. Both sauces had a little bite to them and both 4″ double tortilla’d tacos were full of meat and some onions. My first bite convinced me to finish off these tacos in a few quick bites, so as not to get pulled over and have my lunch confiscated. Thankfully I was able to complete my meal while stuck on I-40 without incident. All in all a very good experience… Super affordable, authentic food and friendly staff. The only downfall… My craving for more! I’m going to have to bring the better half next time so we can try a selection of items off the menu board.

Talk about heaven! The best tacos in town by far! This place is so clean and the staff is so friendly and nice! And the food is just off the charts amazing! This place is the real deal when it comes to carne asada! I wish that they had more locations because it’s a bit of a travel for me. But well worth it!

A third stop during the CYE: Taco Hop. The owner and his crew sure put on a show. Live cumbia music, wonderful food and great company made this event awesome. The ceviche was off the hook wonderful! We also got a popper of sorts that was extremely decadent. The tacos were what we came for and they were nothing but wonderful. The food was fresh, toppings extensive and I have to say these guys had the best fish taco. It was a great last stop on the Taco Hop and I think we opened a lot of eyes to the yumminess of Sharky’s. Get your car washed while you wait!

The Shrimp tacos & Fish tacos are muy deliciosa! Skip the sauce and get extra lime to squeeze on them. Patio seating with fans keeps things chill. You’re welcome!
