I had breakfast here Thursday. The ambience was funky Texaco Renaissance and the food was first rate. The service was very friendly and prompt. This is a definite oasis in downtown Albuquerque and I heartily recommend it!

I’ve been here many times and I don’t have a single complaint. Service is excellent and the food is awesome. I always bring customers and co-workers here when I get to choose the place. I’ve had nights with just a cup of coffee or tea and the crème brûlée, and there are other nights when I get beer and the buffalo cauliflower with my dinner. My absolute favorite item on the menu is the urban farmer salad, I crave those beets and that salad dressing often! Try it!

I’ve eaten here mostly for breakfast, which is pretty good. I usually get a special or the rail runner which is a typical dish for these parts. Also, we came in for dinner the other day and really liked the vacant wrapped meatloaf and the country fried ahi tuna. The service is pretty great too.

Yup! — This is the place I take my friends when the come visit the 505 and want to see downtown. It is good for brekky and din din. This place can handle all sizes, bring yo friends, friends. — We’ve come here with 8 or more on multiple occasions and they managed to get us in quick and ready to dig in. This is your upscale diner. It has upgraded diner food with upgraded ingredients. I’ve had the huevos rancheros. made deliciously well(you can also get this for dinner. say what??) The décor is standard inside, the outside is what attracts peeps to this spot from the cold downtown air.

Nice place for dinner. Try the bacon wrapped meatloaf the meatloaf has a lot of flavor and the mash potatoes don’t come out of a box. Service was good and the atmosphere relaxing

Fantastic food, service, environment and location. This place is so much fun. I’ve been here several times for various reasons. Once for the beginning of a bachelor/bachelorette party, dinner for one, a couple times for working lunches, lunch for one, a couple dates and sometimes just to grab a quick bite when I’m not sure what to get. There portions are huge — especially for the salads so be warned. However, they are so scrumptious it’s worth it. The owner roams around and is such a sweetheart to see and talk to. Whenever I’ve gone there the service has always been on point and quick. Go. Now!

Top notch diner. Good service, food and setting. The burgers are juicy without falling apart in your hands. Worthy of their place on route 66 and Triple D.

We stopped here after leaving the Kimo to watch the Nutcracker. We got here kind of late(around 9:30) and we were seated right away. There were probably 20 people in the diner. The place didn’t seem like a «diner», but I have wanted to try it out for a while. I wasn’t that hungry so I just ordered the jalapeño poppers and a glass of wine. My husband ordered his«go to» a Reuben. The food was pretty good, my poppers had something sweet in them that offset the heat. Here is why they are only getting 3 stars instead of 4… my dessert!!! I wanted the Pear pastry but they were out so I went with the carmel bon bon… OMG could it be any smaller!!! It cost 3 dollars and was only about the size of a piece of bubble gum! Really! I would go back, but not for a bon bon… just sayin…

I’ve been to Standard for breakfast, so this review is limited to breakfast only. I really enjoy Standard, it’s easy to get to, there is enough parking, the patio is small, but dog friendly. I’ve never seen it SUPER busy, but late morning there can be a bit a wait. The food is really good, it is ‘diner food’, but it all has a little bit of a NM twist. I’m a huge fan of the classics like Huevos Rancheros but my FAVORITE is the Duke City Scramble chorizo, chopped New Mexico green chile, white cheddar, with toast & hash brown. Nom Nom Nom, the chorizo is amazing. They also offer delicious looking pastries and sweets, but I’ve never saved enough room to try them. Standard diner has been featured on DDD but I haven’t yet tried the featured meatloaf with bacon… but it does sound amazing! Standard has a happy hour from 4 – 6 pm so I’m going to hit that and enjoy some beer and try some of the non-breakfast foods. Happy Hour offers 25% off appetizers and 1 $ off wine and beer. Also, they extend these specials in the bar all night on weekends. If this place has a familiar feel it might remind you of the Range Café, another of my favorite breakfast places, and owned by one of the 3 brother owners. Standard though offers a smaller menu more tailored to the diner feel, but don’t let that make you think it’s at all roadside waffle house. There’s an elevated feel, cozy and kitschy décor, and an open atmosphere here. I’ll be back!

Always amazing food and stellar service. Was pleased when I found out the vegetable of the day was Brussel Sprouts one of my favorites. Something you don’t normally find in restaurants. Add a wonderful glass of wine and it is an amazing dinner.

Delicious Desserts! I had the chocolate pumpkin cake today and it was delicious. The desserts are always wonderful here. The owner told us that they are committed to customer satisfaction. He was sincere. That means a lot.

The food is good and they have a variety of options but service is incredibly slow. So slow that it’s bothersome.

Good food at reasonable prices. Top 15 restaurants in ABQ– questionable? Kale Caesar was good but didn’t have a Caesar taste and texture. Tuna pops were good — guacamole was interesting. My husband had steak and frites and enjoyed it and a good size steak for $ 18. The odd dessert was the apple Bön Bön — literally one Bön Bön(ice cream was extra)

Outstanding local place to eat breakfast lunch or dinner. Casual dining atmosphere with a sometimes eclectic customer base, that mixes the local flavors of Albuquerque with kitchen comfort food. The pastries are excellent.

Great find in the downtown area! We went for breakfast, however they have an awesome menu for lunch and dinner. The diner was originally a Texaco gas station, built in 1938, which has been refurbished. It’s vibe is kind of Jetsons meet Berkeley. Food was good, service excellent!

Dependably decent food, every time I go. It’s not something really super awesome that motivates me to go there weekly like Café Lush, but pastries are solidly good, wait staff well-trained(though… do I need to be asked every time if I want a pastry with my huge meal? No, thank you.) and the atmosphere is fine. I love the idea of this diner, in what appears to be in an old car show room that has been very elegantly rehabilitated, more than anything… and the large mimosas are pretty decent too. ;) This is a dependably good place for a breakfast meeting.

Went here because of the meatloaf that was featured on food network. Food was great! My daughter had the meatloaf and I had the burger made with ground beef and pork belly let’s not forget the fried egg on top! Delish! I’m a New Yorker but when in New Mexico I will definitely stop at Srandard Diner! Did I mention my yummy truffle fries and grapefruit mimosa! Let’s not forget the server Caroline! She was awesome!

We were invited to dinner by new work friends and they suggested Standard Diner. I was a bit hesitant because I wasn’t really in the mood for«diner food». Well, despite the name, this place really isn’t a diner in the traditional sense. For our friends, it is their take-out-of-towners place since there is a variety of options, including local flavors, but it isn’t overwhelming. I can see why they choose this. We had a great meal! Our server was quick and attentive. And the beer list was large and local(my kind of beer list). I was a bit surprised to see the water served with cucumber. I personally prefer my water unadulterated but cucumbers are much better than lemon. My wife says that her huevos rancheros were top notch. My green-chili cheese burger also deserves high marks. And I was impressed by the kale Caesar salad side options. We will certainly be back!

No complaints what so ever. We had the butter burbon burger, which was ok. The parm truffle fries were amazing. We got the chips and dips for starter that was also decent. Great service, excellent atmosphere.

I think the most important point to note about this sometimes fabulous, occasionally underwhelming neighborhood fave is the fact that it’s the brainchild of Matt DiGregory, a co-founder of The Range. Man, do I love that food. Best brunch in town, and I’m willing to drive to Bernalillo just to experience the ambiance of the building. Here in ABQ, the Standard Diner delivers a different feel altogether, but a lot of the quirky comfort food charm can be found on the menu and the venue is really something to behold. I’ve enjoyed some dinners here, but nothing recent, so I’ll report on my recent breakfast. Why has it taken me this long? So, I guess my first question for Matt would be, um, are you some kind of f#@king mind reader, or something? Somehow, these recipes are the stuff of my foodie wet dreams. I had the Railrunner. Here’s what it’s made of: large buttermilk cheddar biscuit, crumbled bacon & sausage, two eggs, green chile white cheddar queso, black beans, hash browns, red or green chile. So my mind was essentially, um, moaning. Pleading. And when I finally got to, um, undress and devour all of it I’m pretty sure I muttered an audible«Yes. Yes. YES!» I mean, it’s bacon AND sausage. Queso hash browns. Sexual f#@king healing. One star hesitation, due to some less than stellar evenings here, but I’ve never been disappointed and often I’m obviously… more than titillated.
