Consistent, clean and craveable! If you want an awesome burger or steak with that smoky, backyard/campfire taste, then I recommend you stop by. They cook on a real grill with Mesquite and this makes all the difference. I started coming here for Low Carb/Paleo options and usually order a Papa Burger(8oz) with no bun and a side of veggies. The Ribeye steaks also rival or surpass local steakhouses I’ve tried, in size and succulence. So the food is awesome, but the service is really what keeps me coming back. There’s not many places left out there where you feel genuinely welcome and with a staff that goes out of their way to ensure you’re comfortable and satisfied. I’m always greeted with a friendly smile as they say«Welcome to The Grill!» and always thanked on my way out. Keep it up «Grill on Juan Tabo»! See you soon!

I have been The Grill on Menaul several times and I love it! I tried the one on Juan Tabo and it was pretty good as well. I had my usual 4 oz with cheese and green chile, very good. The free salsa and chips tasted the same as the Central location. The customer service was perfect, the Manager/Owner came out to great us, that is always a plus. My only thing(and its not a deal breaker) is that I love all the military memorabilia at the original location. There was some here, but over time I am sure that they can collect some more.

Talked my wife into going to the Grill on JT as I had been bragging about it since my first visit. What a bad experience we had. To start with we ordered the fried mushrooms for an appetizer. It took 20 minutes to get them and then they were hot on the outside but still frozen on the inside. I really dislike when restaurants pass off frozen food as fresh. Then it took another 25 minutes to get the burgers to us. The burgers were dry, bland and tasted like a frozen burger. The bun was refrigerator cold. Business was slow so there was really no need for this type of service.

I’ve visited The Grill on Menual many times in my short stay here in NM. I was so impressed by the owner’s enthusiasm and taste of the burgers that I returned despite other shortcomings. After my first visit to their new location on Juan Tabo, I was thoroughly disgusted and will never return to either location. The good: the charcoal grill smothers the burgers with that mesquite smoky flavor reminiscent of your childhood. The owner on Menual is friendly and outgoing. The bad: the side order items are below average as is the burger topping station. Modern burger joints offer a lot more. Additionally the place is useless for vegetarians or other healthy choices such as gluten-free or grass fed. Also, I was consistently informed at the Menaul location that the meal cost the same as a burger and drink — this is not true at all. There’s a price difference(0.50) The ugly: I got sick shortly after visiting the Menual location once. So I was more observant when I visited the new location. The new location lets you watch them cook on the grill. So I watched with horror as I saw the cook level out a burger with wax paper, pick it up with the paper(all good) and then flip the burger onto her bare hand before placing it the grill. Thus wouldn’t be so bad if she didn’t then proceed to remove hamburger buns from their bag without any consideration of washing her hand first. The place was busy so I watched her repeat this unsanitary process for the other patrons. Hmmmm, yummy.

Heard great things about The Grill on Juan Tabo and just had dinner there. Wonderful burgers, cooked over mesquite coals –delicious! Carson and Cynthia are great hosts, and their staff is top notch. We will be going again soon!

We happened into ‘The Grill on Menaul’ the other day and were told a second location had opened on Juan Tabo. Since we love this place already it peaked our interest and we trucked up there to check it out. Low and Behold we ran into Phil(the owner of the Menaul location) apparently this was opening day. You know that good feeling you get when you see one of your favorite local business’ expand and find out it was done right, we got that today! The operation is run by a different group but is exactly the same right down to the salsa. They even have courtesy water cups next to the soft drink fountain(thanks I like that). I’m gonna say pretty much the same as I would about the Menaul location, burger grilled with on a custom Misquite fired grill. Fries are skinny and really great. When I come here I often order the Lil’ Rascle combo, a 4 oz burger, fries and a soft drink. Good news for you folks in the NE Heights, now you got a Grill like us lucky Uptown do too!
