Large portions? Yes. Large crowds? Yes.(lots of retired military looking types) But aside from these two things the food is utterly remarkable and average. Yes, it’s cheap but there are much better eateries in ABQ. 2.5 stars.

Really like this place, will definitely come here again next time I’m in town. From the outside the place looks like any old Denny’s style chain but inside the owners have really done a nice job creating a unique atmosphere based on their concept. The staff was very friendly, and the contents of the dessert case were to die for. There are a lot of choices on the menu; we were there for breakfast and the food was very good and arrived as ordered. Highly recommended and great to support a local business. They currently have three locations in Albuquerque; the one we went to was on Menaul, only minutes from downtown.

Purely personal opinion: Breakfast is the best! Personal observation: Restaurants open only in the mornings usually serve the best food Both the above statements were reinforced after we visited this place for brunch! It was busy but the service was pretty quick. We tried the Tucson omelette and a Belgian waffle and loved them both! I am a fan of tangy flavors and I never tasted sun dried tomatoes as flavorful as theirs! We would certainly visit this place again and I’d say may be you should too!!!

Cool place with friendly service. The sweets are their strong point. The Caesar salad was fresh and not over garlicky. Decent draft beer selection.

Delicious breakfast and slammin’ coffee. The portions were big and I was unable to finish everything. Saturday morning was very busy but the wait was under 15 min. The servers were pleasant and very efficient. It was great asking for over easy eggs and having them come out perfect with how busy they were. I definitely will return to this family friendly restaurant!

Not a pleasant experience. We just went for dessert. The biggest turn off was the lack of cleanliness. The table was sticky. When checking out the quirky décor, it was hard not to notice the layers of grime and dust. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but seemingly forgot to wear deodorant. He reeked. And lastly, the bathrooms.(I took my wife’s word for the women’s room) Just plain disgusting. I’ve seen nicer men’s rooms in truck stops. Just gross. Oh, and I forgot to mention the weird brownie. The bottom layer was something resembling a rock hard Oreo, and the rest seemed to be raw. It was nasty. Will we give them another chance? Nope. No reason at all to go back.

You know I’ve been coming to the Range Café for a good number of years and its always been a place we’ve enjoyed and so we’ve continually come back. I recently went while my wife who had some time to take a late lunch(2:00pm) but I have to say it was the worst service. If it was busy that would have been one thing but it wasn’t and there was adequate staff walking around and talking to each other. When the waitress did come out she was too busy helping all the other tables around us but completely ignored us. So when the manager walked by I tried to get his attention so we could get a refill on our coffee but he too ignored us. I finally had to go up to counter to ask from some more coffee. Even after all that it took us forever to get the bill. Not sure what happened to this place but that was a major disappointment for us as we’ve always been loyal customers. I may try again in the near future but must say I was very disappointed in the way we were treated.

Good food, hefty portions. Had the Green Chile Burger. Huge bun, nice thick meat patty cooked medium as requested. Service was very good. A little pricey, but not totally out of bounds. The green chile wasn’t hot at all; could barely taste it. Cole Slaw was a little too sweet. And, the place was terribly noisy. Might go back sometime for the pork sandwich; it really sounded good. Might try the Wyoming store to see if it is quieter.

At this location it’s always hit or miss on service and food quality. Sometimes food is cooked, sometimes not so much… some times the server comes in a reasonable time to make it right, sometimes not. When things go right, it’s worthy of 4 stars, but it’s always a crap shoot.

I love the Range, whimsical art, a tongue in cheek sense of humor on the menu, and delicious food. What’s not to love. The pastry case isn’t to be missed. Humongous eclairs and pastry puffs, and if you want to treat yourself try the cinnamon or pecan rolls… I think one of their pecan rolls and a cup of coffee could possibly fix all the is wrong in the world. The menu offers sweet and savory breakfasts, traditional sandwiches with a New Mexican twist and entrees that highlight green chili. Fast diner style service that’s friendly and never lets your coffee get cold makes the Range a win all the way around.

I feel like I have a strange relationship with the Range. I’ve never had a really bad meal here, I’ve never had an okay I can die happy meal here, but I do get a meal I’m happy with. I do have to say though one of the nice things about the range is it is super consistent. If I come in and get something I ordered the week before the quality, flavor, and temperature will be the same. it’s nice to just have a solid restaurant with solid food and solid consistency. What more could you ask for?

This restaurant offers a lot of tasty breakfast and lunch options. I enjoy their eggs Benedict the most, though I also like their chicken fried steak and other bites I’ve had of other people’s dishes when I’ve been here with family. I also have felt that the service is really good – the servers are warm and friendly. I’m happy to go here again, and, as a breakfast-food lover, I crave their eggs Benedict from time to time!

Kitchy and tasty. That’s how The Range does breakfast. Went here with the SO and enjoyed a breakfast burrito the size of my head(and I have a big head). It was prime time for Sunday breakfast around 10am and we only waited 20 minutes. Once we sat down, service was quick and friendly, our coffee mugs never went empty or cold, and our food was served piping hot! On my way out I spotted the ridiculous array of baked goods at the front of the restaurant — I plan to come back just to indulge in sweets :-)

Two visits to ABQ for family. Both times I ate here as often as I dared. Tried the ABQ location and the original, have the shirt. Great food, atmosphere, staff, menu. If I had started working there in my 20s. I would open one or own one. I love exploring and variety, but I was always drawn back to it. Top 5 all time restaurant.

A busy place on a Friday evening but easy to see why. Quaint atmosphere, attentive staff, and excellent food. Four adults and two small ones. Had to wait nearly an hour for a table to accommodate us but the wait was worth it. Great food all around. I had one of the best shredded chicken burritos I have ever had. Very lean and tender and the whole thing full of flavor. I highly recommend The Range Café and look forward to my next trip to ABQ.

This is a great, convenient midtown location for the metro’s venerable institution. I love The Range. Living north of town, I frequent the flagship Bernalillo location, but when you need a fix and work in town, it’s great to have these options. This midtown location is a converted JB’s, and they’ve done a lot to make it their own. The food is amazing, the décor is funky, the staff is great. Only downside I can find is the parking can get pretty tight during rush hours. We had so find street parking because the place was hopping and the spaces in the lot are limited.

Went to Albuquerque for a 5 day business trip and being that it was my first trip out to NM I wasn’t too familiar with the great places to eat out here. Had a day off from work so I decided to use Unilocal to help me find a good breakfast place. Came across The Range Café and decided to commit and just go for it. Arrived at about 10am and there were about 30 people waiting– incredible. Was sat immediately at the bar(party of one) and was quickly greeted by Kelli my waitress and she was phenomenal. Order the I-25 and because I can never NOT modify anything I added bacon and avocado. Oh.my.lord… Hands down the best omelette I’ve had in a while. Pair that with a kick ass server, an attentive manager(Erica), and amazing food… can’t ask for a better breakfast experience. Keep it up TRC!

Positives: Service, decorations, water refills Negatives: Quality of food, prices The Range was great for accommodating our group of 18! I think our server was a little frazzled because of how many of us there were, but she did a nice job, considering. The downfall was the food… I asked my group and none of us loved it. The prices wouldn’t be bad if the food was good, it just did not satisfy. The do have vegetarian and vegan options, which I appreciated! If you’re looking for a good meal, I would not recommend coming here, unfortunately.

The morning we are here, a winter storm came through. Roads were closed from Albuquerque to the Texas state line and roads headed north were also closed. We braved the icy roads and cold winds to have breakfast here. The range French toast has been a staple for us but since living in Atlanta, we miss the red and green chile. So, I decided on ordering the special: 2 Carne Adovada tamales with scrambled eggs, home fries and pinto beans. I asked for both red and green chile sauce(«Christmas»). The chile was on point, it had a kick but not overwhelming. The sauce moistened the tamales, if it where sauce less the tamales might have been a little dry. But with the red and green chile smothered on top of the fries, eggs and tamales. It was a magic combination of deliciousness! Wonder what we will order in our next trip to New Mexico? Can’t wait.

Not a good place to go for a college budget. I came here because one of my friends told me it was good, but my bill was almost 20 dollars. The food was really good, but it was not worth 20 dollars to me. The service was good as well. I just thought it was a little too pricey unless I just got money.

Avoid the black bean burger«patty»…it’s more of a goopy blob. Not easy to eat and not that tasty. The other dishes were good though. The prices do seem a little step for what it is.

my ABSOLUTELYFAVORITE breakfast place in Albuquerque. I will say it is a little on the pricey side but so worth it. If you love a good pancake, THISISTHEPLACETOGO! What a great place for breakfast. Our server with the red hair was great. She was very friendly, got our drinks right away, got our orders and always came back to check on us. The food was very fresh and hot as it came to the rable. They have a great selection of baked goods, we got a pecan pie to go with a cheese danish. Hreat place to eat. I highly recommend it. Thanks

I have to say that the food is pretty darn good. The service is also pretty good for Albuquerque. This is a place where you can over fill yourself and top it off with some coffee. I had eggs benedict and boy was I happy. I always find the hollandaise sauce to be the kicker on any good eggs benedict, and The Range Café has some gooooood hollandaise sauce. On the flip side, be ready to pay more than expected for breakfast. I had a meal and a coffee and walked away with a $ 20 breakfast and no left overs. We had taken our boss out for breakfast so we had her order something sweet to go. Her meal added up to almost $ 30(FORBREAKFAST) after tip. I’m not a huge breakfast person so maybe I’m a bit off on my assessment, but it’s no a cheap stop.

It’s a fun place to go. It’s really the only type of place I’d go if someone else wants to though. As a local, I find it hard to justify paying so much for New Mexican food. It’s not terribly expensive, but just a little on the high side for corn tortillas and cheese. Still, I recommend it. The food is well made and the restaurant has a good atmosphere.

This is a great place for breakfast, and I highly recommend the huevos rancheros(though I’ve never asked if the green chile sauce has gluten in it — ask if you’re concerned!) Another favorite is the Range Roundup, though I get it with corn tortillas instead of the biscuit. This includes crumbled bacon, sausage, two fresh eggs, choice of chile, white cheddar, pinto beans, and potatoes with queso sauce. It is so good. They do pretty good lunch/dinner as well, though there are a lot of sandwiches on the menu and that gets tricky when you’re gluten-free. They do have some really good salads!

We were staying in a hotel when we first moved to ABQ and found this was really close so we decided to check it out. I really didn’t know what to expect from the menu and even when we were there from the atmosphere. It had a kinda diner feel but also a regular restaurant. Our service was fast and friendly and the food was really good. Both my wife and I ordered our favorite types of sandwiches. She got grilled cheese and I got a New Mexican Reuben. Both were quite flavorful with nice sized portions. I really liked the New Mexican twists on the reuben. My wife’s grilled cheese was also flavorful and above par. The only issue we had was her tomato soup was super thick; almost like a dip. It still tasted really good. And from the unblended tomato, we can be pretty sure it was homemade! They also had an admirable beer selection of local brews. We didn’t order any dessert but it sure looked good.

The Range Café is the best place to go when you have a group with different culinary tastes. Everyone can be happy and together! I tried the Blue Corn Enchiladas with calabacitas and of course red chile. I am always leery of ordering calabacitas from a restaurant. You never know if the vegetables will be cooked to perfection or slime. The Range has the cooking method nailed. The vegetables were cooked well. Not too soft not too hard, it was perfect. The red chile was tasty, not hot at all(for me). The rice was phenomenal. I usually skip rice because it lacks taste. This rice was flavorful and not the typical«Spanish Rice». The oatmeal, ordered by a friend, is unusual. It can be ordered with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream. I am not an oatmeal person, but put ice cream on top and I am interested. The oatmeal comes with the usual fruit, sugar, nuts as well. The ice cream just makes it special and delicious looking. I did not have time for dessert, but there was a chocolate cake that looked really good and key lime pie was available too. I must go back with my husband. I noticed that The Range has a mac ‘n cheese that is made with Marble Brewery’s Wild Flower Wheat. I don’t think it could get any better than that for my husband! Also while you wait(not very long) you can play with the silverware which are magnetized to keep them from being thrown away!
