This is my favorite library in all of New Mexico. I like the quiet wing, even though it is located by the bathrooms. Free wifi and great place to sit quietly and read or study! The grounds outside are gorgeous as well. Especially when the roses are blooming. This library always smells nice, looks clean, and is well kept. They bathrooms also contain the second best hand dryers(first being Dyson). The latest technology is the outside book drop off! It is electronic now. You can only put one book in at a time and you must put the book face up to scan. It scans and takes it in and then you may print out a receipt for your returned book.

This is the library of my youth. Mom would take me to the the Tony Hillerman Library(back then known as the Wyoming Library — it might have even been when it was the Prospect Park Library, but that would give away my age) for books and story time. I loved it! Now with kiddos of my own, I am very happy that it is still our library. The library is not huge, but large enough to have a great selection. And like any of the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Libraries, you can reserve a book(in any branch or online) and have it delivered to this branch. There are two study rooms and a fabulous children and teen reading area with comfy chairs and plenty of tables for research or casual reading. Beyond the books, the library hosts many interesting events, including the Who Dunnit? Mystery Book Group, a Stitching Club, a Read to the Dogs program(Seriously!) and a variety of computer classes. Another bonus of this library is that it is surrounded by the Albuquerque Rose Garden. It is worth a visit just to walk through the beautiful collection of roses. Being able to check out a book and then go read it under the large shade structure covered in climbing roses on the north side of the library is truly a treat! The Tony Hillerman Library is an Albuquerque treasure.
