This place sold out, it used to be our favorite spot for Phở and just recently did renovations to the kitchen. I guess when they changed the kitchen they changed the way they cook as well cuz the chicken was fatty and had no flavor what so ever. The broth even tasted and smelled funny. Could of done without the menu changes too. Won’t be going back anymore.

I thoroughly enjoy this place. Each time I go, my senses are overloaded, only because I’m so excited and I want everything. Having lived in Vietnam, I have fairly high standards of my Vietnamese food. Contrary to popular belief, it consists of much more than the go-to Phở soup.(Which is delicious, don’t get me wrong) I asked the server about my favorite dish called Bun Cha Ha Noi. she was so excited that 1. I had been to Vietnam. 2. I knew Vietnamese language and food. I asked if they had bun Cha and she told the cook to make it a special way, and it was HEAVEN. it made me think I was back in Vietnam for a quick second, and that to me meant the world. I highly recommend this place!

I’m a sucker for Vietnamese food, but the Phở here is outrageously delicious. When you force yourself to finish a meal because it’s so darn good, that should be the mark of a fantastic meal. I had to take several breaths and relax my mind and muscles. I readied myself mentally for that last bit of broth and goodness at the bottom. The waitress in the meantime dropped by and asked if she could take the bowl. I had to calm my internal monologue, wanting to bite her hand just for thinking about reaching for that bowl. I calmly stated I am going to do my best to finish my bowl. I mustered up all my strength and courage, I said a little prayer and I lifted the bowl. I arose victorious against the forces of evil that tried to stop me. Truthfully, this is an awful tale of the triumph of gluttony over my self control, but I will never apologize for what I did. I feel I’ve been to the other side, I faced the broth gods, gave them a high five and came back to tell the tale. BTW, everything else is darn good too. So, when you go, make sure to take your prayer beads, your four leaf clover and your cross because you’re going to do your best to finish that food even if it sends you to the edge.

Delicious! We are just passing through from Texas and stopped for lunch. After living in Houston for 10 years, we have eaten our share of Vietnamese Cuisine and this was wonderful! Very friendly as well

My children’s Godparents were visiting New Mexico last month, and they spent a day in Santa Fe. One godparent suffered from food poisoning in Santa Fe at Whole Foods from eating their gravy. He was down at least 36 hours from this, and he was then reluctant to eat strange foods, but the Godparents wanted to meet me and KID#1 for dinner, so I suggested soup. Hence, Viet Q was one of the good choices for their location and food choices. Godfather chose a soup that the server suggested, and Godmother decided on the same fried rice noodle dish that I picked, yet she opted for shrimp while I wanted chicken. KID#1 was«starving» after dancing in a three hour class, so she wanted a big bowl of chicken soup. The soup servings are large; of course KID#1 finished it. Plus, Godfather finished his beef soup which helped him to feel even better, and Godmother and I finished our fried noodle dishes, so we all agreed that the food was delicious. Thank God for soup, noodles, and godparents. After that night I wanted to bring KID#2 here later that week because she likes soup — especially from a Vietnamese eatery. We went there for an after school snack. Based on dinner with the Godparents I knew how large the bowls are, so I decided to share one bowl for the both of us. I was happy because I knew it was going to be a delicious goodie. Two cheers for a fresh snack! Viet Q earns two and a half stars for their good food. Then I remembered that Godfather said that if you like Viet Q on facebook, then you get a discount. About the discount — you have to ask for it. Then when you ask for it, just do not be surprised if the cashier gives you an attitude for even asking. If Viet Q is bothered about their stupid 10% discount, they they should not even offer it in order for the workers to stay happy. Anyway, this place earns a half of a star for trying. Viet Q Vietnamese Grill loses stars because the women’s restroom has a broken sink, so when you wash your hands, all of the water flows into a bucket. Then, there is a leak in the roof; to no surprise the contents leak into another bucket. How many of you want to bet they use buckets in the kitchen to help prepare food with? I’m just saying because buckets seem to be their tool of choice. Fix those problems Viet Q to earn more stars.

Service was downright bad, broth was good. Eggrolls were edible, not memorable, kind of mushy inside. So many better ones in town. I also had an avocado shake, and phở with rare, and well done beef. I went with friends and service was just a mess. As a hospitality worker, you just don’t do certain things. It took a while to get to us, and it was not busy– this is not a big deal. He took our order, and my friends shake came out 10 – 15 mins earlier than my shake. My shake did not come out till our entrees. We were a three top, and two of us were eating soup. They brought out two soups, and then our waiter was helping a girl pick up take away, before running out our phở fixings, and the other plate. Okay from a servers prospective –you go to a table and check in” Hi I am Nat, I am you server– how are you doing, can I get you any drinks?” Or if you are super slammed.” Hi I am Nat, your server, here are some waters, and I will be right back.”, or with take away, «I will be with you shortly.» You always run bb plates, other fixings, utensils, before(optimally), or within a min or two of the food being run. The manager stepped in and things got less funky. You need to finish one thing before you start another. He offered the table free appetizers next time we came in. Which was cool till the chick gave me the wrong change. The floor manager was charming, but a bit too campy(over the top). He was teasing me I could of sent the food back. I would never do that unless it was a 20+ dollar steak(that was overcooked), or my shrimp, or fish and chips were raw in the middle. This made me uncomfortable. I feel like Larry David sometimes– see Curb your enthusiasm. Phở was darn tasty. Was not super impressed with the avocado shake, still okay. I got my boyfriend a roast pork Bahn mi– to go. he said it was good. Now a female server came over to cash us out, and also gave me the wrong change. I gave 25 $ on a 19.28ish bill and asked her to break down the 5 $ bill. She gave me four ones, and change. This is not hard math– seriously! I honestly do not like to leave less than 20−25%- this was ridiculous! You already had an extra dollar from me, so now I feel like a dick. Verging on not going back. Where did the male server go? If you pawn off a table, talk to them first, and let them know who there server is going to be. Really bad service, going down in my list of carnal sins of hospitality.

This was my first time here. Staff was very nice. Got the Spicey Lemongrass noodle bowl with Chicken and a side of pot stickers… Very flavorful, very good. The only reason not giving full five stars as we sat next to the fish aquarium and it was a tad dirty and had algae growing. Hard to truly enjoy yummy food when you are looking at a dirty aquarium. Otherwise it would be five star!

I used to live near this restaurant. I remember when it first opened, I thought this was one of the best places to go have Vietnamese food. But since I moved out of the area, the food quality becomes spotty. Meaning, there are days where the food is REALLY good or there will be days where the food is so– so. However, the service at this restaurant is always friendly and the vietnamese BBQ is still one of the better ones here in town.
