Always great food and good service. The best ice tea! A tad expensive for breakfast food though. Will return again!

This place is just awesome! The portions are huge and the quality is outstanding. After a late night concert and celebrating, this is the best way to recover.

It was basic diner food. My server was fantastic, super friendly and sweet and attentive. The food, was fine, nothing to write home about and nothing that would bring me back. Portions were huge and a little sloppy with ok flavor. In my opinion, just what you’d expect from diner food. If you like typical diner food, this place would be great.

Gracious! That was a lot of food. Fast service, lots of tasty food. Possibly way too much hash browns. Reasonable prices.

Excellent breakfast fare. Large portions and excellent service. I am very happy that I ordered the short stack of pancakes — they were the size of a dinner plate! The others on our party ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. The portions were large enough for dinner and the steak had a crispy crust and tender meat.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Wecks. Patty was amazing as usual. Don’t appreciate you ganging up on me with my wife but hey were family. Amazing service and food as usual. Everyone there is amazing.

I had the huevos racheros and also tried the french toast. To be blunt: the French toast was not good at all. Come to my house for that. I don’t understand the concept of huevos rancheros served as glop – am I uncultured? In Wilmington, CA, I found this hole in the wall Mexican place with huevos rancheros servied with perfect eggs, layered in a beautiful presentation and delicious. I must be from another rancho. Avoid this noisy breakfast spot that tries to be chic, but is noisy with less than average food.

Love this place! Awesome portion size! Lunch special includes your drink and they offer a reusable to go cup. And our waitress, Kim, was AWESOME. Super helpful with the menu and attentive. Even though we came in at 1:45 and it closes at 2, they were still super nice and in no rush to get you out the door. A flawless lunch experience.

Weck’s is an Albuquerque success story and I congratulate them for that. I’m all for keeping it local. However… I keep trying and trying Weck’s, thinking I might«get it» on one of these visits, or finally find that one menu item that I can’t be without. The service is good because they have a massive server to customer ratio. The portions are gigantic, nobody is gonna be hungry after a trip to Weck’s. But I just do not see the appeal. In the end it’s ‘OK but not great’ food and long wait times. It’s actually a good place to take the extended family when you have an hour and a half to eat and have less adventurous eaters and a lot of people that want different foods and you can’t all agree on someplace else. And that’s why I’ll be back again…(Hi Weck’s! Please don’t poison me next time.)

Stopped for breakfast on our way through town. Our server was friendly and got everything correct. Our plates were huge! My husband and I both ordered papas plates and we should have split one. The food was good, both chilies were decent. We would definitely return.

My review is based on the cinnamon rolls :). Everybody raves about a «certain place in town» having great cinnamon rolls but I have to say when I am craving a cinnamon roll Weck’s hits the spot for me! You get the option of either cutting and grilling your cinnamon roll or nuking it. I prefer it nuked. I have had the grilled version and it’s good… Different but good. If you aren’t sure you can ask them to grill half and warm half and choose what you like. For breakfast, I usually order the original papas plate which is easily enough food for 3 people. I order it with Christmas on the side and no sausage. I do not like their sausage in this meal but I am pretty picky when it comes to sausage as I typically do not eat it. I wouldn’t say this is a very healthy breakfast(obviously) but oh well. Every once in a while its good.

Excellent breakfast burrito with green chiles. My wife wasn’t so happy with hers, she asked for Christmas and we’re not really sure what she got, but it wasn’t red and green chiles. Service was ok with about a half empty restaurant. We were there near closing time, so it almost seemed like they were trying to hurry us out.

I love this location of Weck’s. DONOT let them seat you in Patty’s section! She is terrible. Slow as molasses, will let you run out of beverage repeatedly. Stands by the wall and looks out at the restaurant but is not actually looking. You cannot signal her for help. The worst server ever!!! ALWAYS ask for Alison. She’s fantastic. The best server there ever was! On it, cordial, lovely. The best! The Kitchen is terribly slow. Do not come here if you are in a hurry. Also, don’t bother complaining to the manager. She’s pregnant and too busy with baby to give two shakes about your opinion.

If I could give wecks a 2.5 I would. I have been in and out of ABQ for 4 years ago and I’m sad to say the green chile is declining. It used to be you could tell the difference between different wecks by how hot their green chile was. Now it seems to have become some kind of bland sauce out of a jar… You can even buy this at the registrar., perhaps they should go back to making the green chile in house. Some things haven’t changed Service is fast, friendly and the manager always comes to see how your food is. Prices are reasonable and the portions are huge.

First time at the legendary Weck’s, and I love it! Generous portions of standard breakfast dishes, but with a twist(I ordered the Carne Adovada Papas Plate, a «mountain of hash browns» with shredded pork marinated in red chile, and 2 eggs any style. DELICIOUS! I love flavored coffee: today they have a Chocolate Macadamia Nut coffee that’s amazingly good!

Best hangover food. The service is always extremely fast. Your coffee cup will never be empty. There coffee is pretty good too. The portions of the plates are perfect; not too big, but you light have some left overs. The staff is always friendly and there is always manager there too check up on how your meal was. Best diner in town.

First impressions count. When there is a line out the door, it’s gotta be good. Must get the PAPAS. I had the carnitas Christmas style. The pancakes are soft, fluffy, sweet, and huge. Inside has some character. They also have a soup of the day and good coffee. Portions were good enough for me but bring your appetite. They also sell shirts and the Chile they serve.

I am a big fan of Weck’s. I had been there a few times, but started going there a lot when another local favorite started raising their prices. I love the food, atmosphere and prices. I always get some variation of their papas bowl and a cup of their delicious coffee. I highly recommend Weck’s and am always happy when I find a great local restaurant to support. My only complaint is that they don’t have Free WiFi. I am a web developer and am always meeting with clients at various local restaurants and coffee shops around the city. If Weck’s had Free WiFi, I would be there more often. That’s just me though. UPDATE: Weck’s DOES have Free Wi-Fi. I hope my clients like papas.

Gotta love Weck’s! Who hasn’t been to one of the handful of locations in town for a huge plate of delicious breakfast? I have my go-to items, but everything is very good here. They have special flavored coffees which are great. On my latest visit, it was a Mexican spiced coffee. Yum! The pancakes are huge! Beware. And they are fluffy and delicious. The french toast is also quite good, light, sweet, nicely cinnamon, everything it should be. One of my favorites is the carne adovada breakfast burrito, with eggs and super tender carne adovada wrapped up and smothered in either their red, green or both, which are both flavorful and with a nice heat. The hash browns are crispy and plentiful as well. Of course, the star of the show is the papas — a bowl of hash browns topped with eggs, meat and chile. Big or small, you can’t go wrong here. Watch out, the place can be quite busy on the weekends, but generally worth it.

I wanted to dislike Weck’s and I’m not sure why. I’m a somewhat new transplant and always thought of Weck’s as a chain in a town with so many great little indy joints and diners. But they’re two blocks from my house and I finally broke down and went. Glad I did. The décor is corporate kitsch and if you show up at the wrong time(10 am on a Saturday) you might wait a bit, but the food is excellent diner fair. The coffee is decent for this type of place and they keep your cup filled. The Huevos Rancheros, far as I’m concerned a classic NM breakfast, are done right, with properly cooked pintos, excellent tortillas and a green chili that usually has enough heat to work. Make sure they bring you some butter and use it on the tortillas. If the Huevos are not enough, the Green Chili Chicke Enchaladas, served flat, with two eggs(over easy, if you ask me) and remarkably light roasted chicken, should fill you up nicely. The Carne Adovada is pretty solid stuff, with a good version of red chili. I’ve had a pretty darn good green chili stew here as well. Service is generally good and fast. So call me a fan, now. The Lomas and San Mateo store is my regular stop, but the others I’ve tried are as good(that corporate thing, I guess). Worth a visit.
