I think WisePies could be better if they make their ordering system a bit easier. The pizza dough was sort of tough and had no body to it. It was like eating a piece of cardboard with some sauce on top. Also gluten free pizza dough was $ 3 extra, that was a bit pricy.

Not the best and not the worst pizza I have had. I do like the sauce options. I get the green chile Alfredo sauce every time. I do like their crust options as well, but they never have the gluten free or the whole wheat crust. If you haven’t been I’d try it maybe you will like it. I just was not a huge fan of it besides the sauce options.

I think the real question is, what would Frank think? You know, old«Blue Eyes» himself. Would the original Rat Pack approve? Would Frank, Sammy, Dean, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop give them two thumbs up? I really don’t know the answer to that, and since I admittedly do not know any real Mafia type folk to glean their opinion from, I’m still at a loss! In addition, my time spent in New York is very limited & I can’t give anyone that perspective either. So, I know what I know, and in this case, it aint much! My first time & I was a bit confused, it’s obviously NOT like your average pizza joint. When one thinks of traditional pizza, this will NOT come to mind. At least traditional in the sense that I’m accustomed to, along with most West Coasters I’d like to assume. It’s thin, it’s small & it’s good! I have always enjoyed the new & different when it comes to grub, and these guys do not disappoint if indeed different is what you seek. We tried the Colombo, which I really liked! It has a white garlic sauce, opposed to the typical marinara, and essentially is meat free! Veggies and topped off with truffle oil. It was a big hit with both my wife & I. In addition, being they’re so small, we ordered the Siciliano, which was also good in a more traditional meat sense. All the true Italian meats, pepperoni, sausage & capicola on a marinara sauce. Oh, and we also ordered a Bambino pizza, which is a little 6″ opposed to the 9″ size of the others, and my daughter was stoked! The ambiance & vibe is a bit different, stainless steel everywhere, which isn’t all that inviting & warm in my book, but it sure cleans up well. All in all, it was good, but I don’t know if I’d go out of my way to eat there again, but it’s definitely worth a try.

Haven’t had the be of their pies in a while. Happy to say it is still as good as the last time. Service is always good and attentive. Only wish there was one closer to my home.

I love WisePies, but I prefer the one on campus.(They have a special meal deal for $ 6, and the staff there is really friendly.) The staff here is not nearly as friendly and a little less quick. I was watching them make my pizza, I ALWAYS get the same thing(Genovese + spinach + roasted chicken) but I had to really watch here and say things more than one time before they’d sink in. Since this is the first item on their menu, it seems like the employees would have it down pat. The girl tried to give me a pizza with nearly zero cheese on it. I had to ask her if she thought that maybe couldn’t use more cheese. She agreed and went crazy.(Thanks! Luv me some cheesey-cheese!) It just seems like an odd thing to have to correct. Was she REALLY going to serve it to me that way? Asked for it to go. They carried it over to me on a tray. They were very nice about putting it in a box, but again — why did I have to say something more than once? When campus is closed on Sat and Sun I frequently come here. They have a frequent buyer card — buy 8 and the 9th is free. Also, kids eat free on Tues(one free one-topping Bambino with the purchase of a regular 9-in; limit two), and they have a family deal for $ 40 — 4 pizzas & a salad.

I’m still sitting here looking at my last slice of WisePies pizza trying to decide between 4 stars and 5. I went with 5 for a few reasons — but let’s say it’s a 4.5. I almost didn’t give this place a try because of the mix of reviews, but I am glad I did. It seems that most of the complaints are about price — I don’t get it why. I am a big guy and just had the lunch special($ 10 for a personal pizza and a larger-than-expected salad) and can’t quite finish my pizza because I am full. That doesn’t happen often to me at fast food joints for this price. My pizza was great. I chose thin crust, traditional sauce, five cheese blend, pepperoni, sauteed mushrooms, and oregano. I added green chiles to half and I pineapple to the other half. That being said, I could easily see someone concocting some horrible creation by mixing toppings that didn’t go well together. I’m glad I didn’t have bad luck making a pizza… I am not ever able to make a good bowl at Genghis and I was put in way too many flavors at yogurt places, so I was a little worried The pizza was out quickly(before I could finish my salad) & the crust was cooked and tasted great. They put the right amount of toppings on… I could taste everything I added — the flavors were clean and fresh.(PS — The green chilies were very good and had enough heat to make my nose run, but not enough to make my eyes water! Perfect in my book.) Like I mentioned, the lunch special salad was much larger than I expected. The lettuce was fresh and clean and everything in the salad tasted good. I liked that the garden salad had a healthy amount of sunflower seeds on it to give it a little extra flavor. The only downside was that the Ranch dressing tasted like it was from a bottle, which was somewhat disappointing(all hail Dion’s ranch dressing!) All in all, I don’t really understand the bad reviews. Perhaps things have improved, or perhaps other people are much cheaper than me. The service was friendly and fast & I was happy with the flavor and portion size — so it is a win in my book. I wish more fast food places were this good(I’m looking at you, Taco Bell and BK!)

I don’t understand why people don’t like this place. For 8 dollars you get unlimited toppings on a personal pizza. If that’s not enough food for you, then you have bigger problems. The toppings are always fresh and I’ve had consistently good food here. This place is pretty quick for a fresh pizza and I’ve not yet had an undercooked one. I really hope that people reading this just disregard the negatives posted here and see for themselves how great this place is.

Mediocre pie, chewy croutons, terrible acoustics. Well, at least they spent plenty of money on their image.

This place just opened up down the street from me, so I decided to give it a try. The first time, I walked in, I saw the prices and walked out. Yes, I’m a cheapskate. At $ 8 for a tiny(about the size of a Madam Celeste) personal pizza, I thought I’d rather go to my old stand by, Saggios, where one pizza and a sandwich can serve 4 people — easily. Later, I received some coupons in the mail. Unfortunately the day that I received them, all but one were expired. Not sure how that happened since I live down the street. So either they mailed them late, or the post office sucks. Oh wait, the post office does suck. But I stray. Okay, back to the pizzas. I’m new to the concept of fast food pizza. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service. From ordering to boxing, I think it was about 10 minutes. The flat price is also a good idea, but if you have a family of 4 — well, you do the math. You can order from their menu or create your own pizza. They also have whole wheat and gluten free($ 3 more) crusts. I ordered the Siciliano and the Bonanno. Neither was overloaded with anything, but I would say that the Siciliano had just the right amount of pepperoni, while the Bonanno did not have enough chicken. Their website says that the mozzarella is fresh, but mine had a strange consistency and flavor. The color was more clear than creamy yellow. Perhaps they do something to the cheese to make it melt more quickly, I’m not sure. The Bonanno was super spicy, I mean spicy to the point where my lips were burning. I could only eat one slice. My husband, who prefers spicy food, liked it. The Siciliano was definitely better. Overall, I would say that Brickyard and Saggios are better in terms of flavor and price. If you’re tired of Panera, however, and want a quick lunch at a comparable cost, then head to Wisepies. As for me, I think I’ve had my first and last experience with fast food pizza.

I can only imagine what the pitch for this place must have sounded like: What would you say if I told you that I’ve found a way to combine Subway, pizza, and an EZ Bake oven? The result is fast pizza, but it’s not as well cooked as normal pizza, and it’s not as cheap either. Remember the Subway thing, yeah, so, it’s cheap like Subway, but only in quality, but the prices — oh, the prices! — those are like Chipotle’s. And for only $ 400k you can have your own franchise. Crickets. That’s what the pitch deserves. And that’s what you hear when you walk into WisePies.
