Crystal’s Cookies

Crystal has a great variety of cookies and sometimes offers brownies and cake, too. On the day we stopped at the Pit Stop, I couldn’t help but give in to my Cookie Monster tendencies and get 3 for $ 5. We tried the peanut butter (or as Crystal dubbed it «the man cookie»), the snickerdoodle and the «everything». My favorite by far was the snickerdoodle. I loved how buttery it was, but that may have contributed to it (and the other cookies) being somewhat flat.
Crystal was also serving lemonade the day we stumbled across her tent. It was quite refreshing — I only wish we had ordered it sooner to drink it with our BBQ! Crystal has done well in not making it too sweet, which I feel is the downfall of most lemonades, and even described to us how she’s been playing with different combinations of ingredients to try to perfect it. Kudos to her for finding a balance that worked well!
As a side note, Crystal is so sweet and all the little kids love her and her cookies. She told us how she’s been baking since she was a very little girl and is now teaching a girl to bake as her apprentice. She definitely seems like a gem in the Aldie community.

Anyway, the cookies are drop trou tasty and Crystal is a charming lady that will make you smile with that smile. It’s the best way to cap off a tasty Pit Stop BBQ lunch with an indulgent dessert of freshly baked cookies or carrot cake.
Crystal will gladly share some of her freshly baked goodies with you by providing sample tastes of her cookies. ALL of them area amazing with my favorite being the maple syrup cookies. The boss lady loves the chocolate chip cookie and has declared them THE best she’s ever had. I tasted the oatmeal raisin which were also quite delish.
The prices are a bit high as a pack of 3 giant cookies were $ 4 each, but with the quality and taste… i really do NOT mind paying the money. Crystal is quite personable and the perfect compliment to Ronnie and his Pit Stop BBQ goodness.
If she’s there, you must taste the «cookie lady’s» treats after filling up on some tasty smokey BBQ goodness. Ronnie and Crystal, that’s a combo I would love to see when i die and go to heaven. :-)
