Finally, a good tasting Chinese delivery. I beef w/broccoli with some fried wonton and they tasted very good. I’ve been looking around for a good Chinese delivery and finally found it. The reason why I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because they are a little bit on the pricy side. I paid approx. 18 for my order.

I ordered through Unilocal’s Eat24 feature, and they got part of my order wrong– gave me white rice instead of fried. Also, the General Tsao’s chicken was undercooked– I could still taste raw batter on the outside of the chicken. The wonton soup also tasted a little burnt. Used to order from them all the time, but this was too disappointing.

Man this used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant. Its hard to watch a business go down over the years. The long time waitress always does a fine job. The cooks NOTSOMUCH. I asked for crispy sweet and sour chicken from the lunch menu, wonton soup and fried rice. All were a disappointment the chicken wasn’t crispy the meat inside the wonton was luke warm and the rice was bad. On the other hand the ice water was GREAT. That was the 3rd strike and I’m out. Advice take your $$$ somewhere else.

I just ordered what I thought was the lunch special however what I got was just a regular order that didn’t come with a spring roll. Also where are my fortune cookies? Now I’m at work fortune less lol!!! I absolutely hate when my food isn’t what I ordered. In terms of the taste it’s better than the last Chinese restaurant I ordered from. The spring roll is also tasty. Not sure if I’m ordering again but if I do and my order is incorrect I will be requesting a full refund.

Decent Chinese food for Arlington/Alexandria. They’re located close to my apartment building and delivery is quick. I’m a fan of both the crispy chicken and crab Rangoon. A solid choice for delivery or takeout — I’ve been to the restaurant and I’m not sure if I would want to eat there, however I did notice that they have some pretty inexpensive alcoholic drinks for NoVa… I may want to investigate further.

This unassuming Chinese Restaurant has become our go-to for Chinese food. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is plentiful. There are dinner specials that include fried rice and a spring roll. There is always something leftover to take home. We pass by a number of other, closer Chinese restaurants to get her and we are never disappointed.

I like having take out from this restaurant, but recently I feel like it is not as good and that the service is not what it used to be, I think that they may have new management and that could be it.

My husband and I just recently started ordering from China Delight and I can honesty say that everything we have ever ordered has been perfect. The shrimp are always large and they give you a generous portion. The shrimp fried rice is never greasy and I don’t get an MSG hangover when I eat their food. Every delivery person we have ever had has been very nice and very quick. I have no complaints at all.

So sad I wasted my money on a meal there. The lunch special advertised with fried rice and spring roll. I ordered General Tso’s Chicken and my husband ordered Hunan Pork. We got it to go. We get home and there are no spring rolls, both specials have the worst unseasoned gummy rice instead of the fried rice. The Hunan Pork had maybe 10 very small pieces of meat and the rest vegetables. My General Tso’s Chicken was horrible and it tasted like they used the sauce from the Sweet & Sour Chicken. It was so sweet I could not eat it. NEVERAGAIN!

I have been eating at China Delight since I moved to Alexandria for over three years. The food is average, and they are conveniently located right down the street from where I live. I’d actually consider myself a loyal customer, either dining in or ordering take-out at least once every two weeks or so. Well that changed on Feb. 23rd, 2015. That evening I ordered two Egg Rolls and Vegetable Lo Mein. I was charged $ 13.09 for my take-out order. I ate the Egg Rolls as soon as I arrived home and then started on my Lo Mein. After several bites of my Lo Mein, I bit down on something that was clearly not a noodle nor a vegetable. To my surprise, there was a huge piece of a metal kitchen scrubber included in my Lo Mein. I assume it was left behind from an earlier cleaning of their wok. At first I considered overlooking the incident. However, the more I thought about the safety and sanitary issues of almost swallowing part of a metal kitchen scrubber, I decided to return the food and seek a refund. I returned to the restaurant with the remaining Lo Mein, the kitchen scrubber piece, and my debit card receipt. The owner/manager at the front counter, tried unsuccessfully to tell me that what I bit down on was a «mushroom stem.» I never received an apology and he made me feel as if I were at fault. I was then told that he would return my money, but only for the cost of the Lo Mein. While I did eat the Egg Rolls, I demanded my entire amount be returned due to the inconvenience and possible safety issues regarding their mistake. He wouldn’t budge and refused to return my entire amount of money. After a very heated exchange of words between the manager and I, the Alexandria police were called. I called the police from my cell phone and he called the police from the restaurant phone. The manager described my race and appearance in a very insulting manner and even told the 9−1−1 dispatcher that I was drunk! Long story short, the Alexandria police arrived at the restaurant. Since no crime had been committed, the police only served as mediators to get me a refund of my money. The owner was insistent on showing the police a security video recording. The police never watched it, telling the manager that it’s not against the law to demand good customer service. Eventually I walked away with only the money that I paid for the Lo Mein. The owner was relentless about keeping the $ 3.50 for which I paid for the Egg Rolls. I will NEVER eat another crumb from China Delight! Their food is average at best, their sanitary conditions are questionable, and their customer service is the worst. Stay away from China Delight in the Summit Center on King Street in Alexandria, VA.

A gold mine and gem of a local place in Alexandria. Awesome crab Rangoon and Low Mein. Consistently awesome quality!

This place blows… I’m not sure what these guys are eating to give these good reviews. Rice is trash, chicken is trash, only good thing was wonton soup. Won’t be going back again.

I go here a lot because it’s right across from where my lady lives. Anyway the food is average at best. I’m from Jersey so the Chimes food is a bit higher quality up there. The sign on the outside isn’t lit up so it might be hard to see from the road. If you’re famished in Arlington and you need something to fill you up go for it.

A reliable standard in our house. While there are cheaper Chinese delivery options in the area, this one is still the best. The crispiest spring rolls, the BEST Singapore noodle and reliable delivery service. We love you China Delight.

Well, I have a lot of respect for people in the food business. Specially for them who value their customers and cater to their satisfaction. But not someone who would treat their customers like they would eat anything that’s been served to them like some 2 – 3 days old nasty batter-filled, almost chicken less General Taos chicken and some yellow stale ‘fried rice’. Pack it all in a brown bag, throw some fortune cookies and put on a lil’ fake smile and charge their customers $ 12. That was what happened to me few weeks ago. I would rather go across the street and be happy with a dollar taco from Taco Bell. In simple words, this dark, dingy and pretentious place has some nasty food. I can’t even think about what quality of meat and sauce and oil they would use. There are a lot of other choices nearby. Fellow Unilocalers, this place should be avoided.

The delivery speed is amazing, almost like they anticipate your order even before you call in. However, the food is inconsistent in flavor and temperature. For example, sometimes the egg drop soup is piping hot; other times it’s lukewarm. Sometimes the sweet and sour pork is crunchy; other times it’s mushy. Also, they provide several coupons you can use for dining in or delivery, but it seems that they never actually apply the coupon when you call in. If you are paying by credit card, you get a total on the phone, but it never quite adds up to what you pay. The final straw was when our order arrived missing one item. I called to notify them and they gave me the third degree, as if I hadn’t fully inspected the contents of the big paper bag before calling. It took 40 minutes for them to deliver the rest of the order. With the inconsistent food and poor service when there was an issue, I’m taking my business elsewhere.

I am quite confused by all the glowing reviews– which was one of the reasons I ordered from here. I live less than half a mile away and the delivery took over an hour. When the food did arrive, I was extremely disappointed. Fried meat dumplings: overly doughy and gummy. The meat itself was okay, but the dumplings dough over powered it. Egg Drop Soup: this was okay though a tad bland Vegetable lo mein: also ok but bland. There were a lot of veggies but the usual sauce was lacking Chicken with Black Bean Sauce: this was absolutely terrible. The sauce was very oily and separated – not appetizing. But the worst was the meat! It was incredibly poor quality – small misshapen lumps with a spongy, gelatinous texture. I couldn’t even bring myself to eat it! The chicken dish really makes me wonder what their other meat entrees are like… If you’re looking for quality ingredients and good preparation in your food, this is not the place to go. I will definitely not be returning.

Simply incredible. I think I’ve finally found the closes thing to American-style Chinese food, other than Chinatown DC located in Virginia. I order my classic favorite, Sesame Chicken with fried rice and egg roll as a test. Let’s just say they passed with flying colors. This is a restaurant where you are able to sit down or have it to go. If you decide to sit, I’m not going to lie it’s in need of some renovations. It seems as if it’s stuck in the 80’s, but who doesn’t love the 80’s? Staff was very friendly and the food came out quick. I’m so happy I found this place. WHAT A GREATWAYTOHITTHE100MARK!
