I went in since it is really close to home. We were excited to try since the reviews are good. It didn’t seem too busy that evening. I waited for maybe 5 minutes before a guy greeted me. Only thing is-I was told that they didn’t have chicken. I would have to wait for 30 minutes for a new batch of chicken. Nope. We ended up at Popeye’s up the street for a chicken fix that night. Maybe we will try again? Not sure though. I’ll head to our usual place near Skyline.

Cashier was super nice. My piece of chicken was smaller than usual so they added an extra piece for free without telling me until they handed it to me :) first time being there and the chicken tasted yummy and fresh. If you’re in the area then you gotta go try their chicken. Definitely going back to try more of their entrees

The chicken and the yucca was great, the fries not so much. The best thing about the place is the costumer service and the owner. He is extremely attentive, always with a smile.

Here are my thoughts. I give it a three because it has the potential for a four. It would never reach five stars though. Decided to do a food challenge with this chicken and also señor chicken that is just up the road on Mt. Vernon. This place won. Price — $ 15.90 including tax for a whole chicken and two sides. Awesome. Came here around 530pm, and disappointed to see the charcoal«rotisserie» empty and clean. That should have been an indicator to leave.(No more fresh chicken for the rest of the night, how long has the chicken that I had just ordered been sitting in a warmer?) Chicken — seasoned deliciously! But it was a tad dry and the skin was not as crispy(maybe it wasn’t so fresh after all, off of the charcoal, ya know?), and it lacked a smokey flavor. I’ve never been to Peru so I don’t know what«authentic Peruvian» should taste like, but it was pretty tasty and still finger-lickin’ good. I think if it had been«fresh», it would have earned a four star. Fried yucca was sooooo delicious. Totally worth it. Didn’t really love the green sauce — thought it was a little too vinegary, salty, and tangy. The mayo seemed like they used toooooo much of egg yolk and kind of tasted like a deviled egg. I liked señor chicken’s better for green and mayo. Overall, the chicken here is better in flavor, and if you come during peak hours and get fresh chicken — it will probably taste even more delicious!

Solid but nothing special. Lady behind counter was friendly and helpful sit down area could use a broom and mop. Only mention it since I was here well between lunch and dinner rush and was only one in so to see it that way is kinda indicative. Also no fresh chicken, they reheated what they had made from lunch, still tasted ok, not dry, but spice wise nothing to rave about.

BEST Peruvian chicken in the Northern Virginia area!!! Extremely friendly family run staff. I always call in my orders and it’s always ready within 10 minutes. 1 whole chicken with 2 sides is only $ 15.99!!! Extremely moist, never dry chicken.

Eat here if you want pollo resembling the taste of PERU ! Quite possibly the best tasting seasoning of chicken I’ve had in the DMV. The pollo was nicely sized and the side portions of rice and yucca were plentiful. Service was good. They accept all methods of payment. The only negative was the green sauce. A bit too salty in my opinion. But I’ll be back. I recommend you check out Chirilagua Pollo and Steak too!

First time– I thought it was great. Friendly service, clean café area. Great selection of food. Had ¼ pollo with beans and rice, all cooked very well. Green and white sauce were good. Something was slightly salty and I’m not sure if it was a sauce or the chicken skin. But I enjoyed it all and look forward to trying more!

The rotisserie chicken was fantastic. The smoky taste is slightly different from other ones from Peruvian places, possibly from a different charcoal used. It didn’t have that distinct clove-ish seasoning like others. The pile of fried yuca and plantains put it in line for value with similar places. The yuca was whole(not the processed ones often found) but still moist and tender without being fibrous. It was rather unsalted(which was fine by me, since one can always add more. The plaintains were not as sweet(the bigger starchier plantains in Salvadoran food instead of ordinary fried bananas) but fried up nicely and evenly. The green sauce was fresh with a significant kick and the yellow sauce was rich but lacking tang. The cheese pupusas were AWESOME. They were thick with good stringy cheese and perfectly browned on the outside. The masa was light and fluffy, not heavy and dense like some others. The obligatory cabbage & tomato-based hot sauce were mixed together and gave wonderful crunch and freshness. Fish seems to be popular among those who know. The plana are two huge tilapia steaks, fried with a crisp in a delicate batter. Good value & big enough to share. Will need to try some of the other dishes, but frankly not too keen on some of the more Tex-Mex options like refried beans and burritos, which are probably there to give something familiar to the newbies. The tacos al carbon looked like a good bet.

I’m a regular at Chirilagua Pollo and Steak, as it is in my neighborhood. The only reason I didn’t give it Five Stars is because the Chicken that they use is very small compared to other Latin Rotisserie Chicken places and it sometimes not as moist as other places I’ve been to. I like the location and convenient free parking. I also like the owner of the place; very friendly and always willing to strive to please his customers. Like I said above, the Chicken is so-so and the rice can sometimes be a bit salty, but I love the Pupusas they serve. Not better than Abi’s for example, but pretty close. I recommend that you give Chirilagua Pollo and Steak a try, especially if you are near the Arlandria area.

Food is wonderful and the service is amazing. Must stop and eat especially if you like Spanish food. Excellent authentic Spanish restaurant. And they are lightning fast too.

Whole chicken + two sides = $ 14.95. The refried beans are really good, and so is the yucca. Chicken could be juicer here, though. The place is family-owned, and service is friendly. In my ranking of NoVA chicken places, I’d say it’s probably a distant 3rd behind Super Pollo. But for the price and with the convienient location, I’ll keep coming back!

The service here was pretty friendly, but the food was sub par. Apparently this place is under new management, i had heard before that this place was awful before. It has not gotten any better. It was just ok. I asked for beans as the sides with my Rotisserie chicken, i got re-fried beans… dude it not the same thing… tell me next time… Being Peruvian, i have been exposed to Pollo a la brasa since birth. Plus my father owned a successful rotisserie chicken restaurant. There is more to the chicken than just thinking you know the«secret recipe» and learning how to cook over an open fire wood charcoal pit. This place doesn’t have anything special… sorry…hate being mean but… it was not good… maybe my standards are to high…

Decent roasted chicken for the price. I ordered a quarter chicken with rice and beans(refried) and a jarrito for 7 and change. This place is no Pollo Rico but a good second choice and a little cheaper.

Great food and good service. Got a fajita de pollo for $ 8.95 there as a special. The chicken fajita was well portioned and the meat had tons of flavor. I would definitely recommend this place for its meat. The only drawbacks to mention was that the rice was mediocre and the guacamole looked like they had used an avocado that was close to spoiling.

This place is great, my friends and I go here every week. You have to give them a little bit of time to understand you, because not of all of their employees speak English, but I haven’t found better or more authentic burritos or chicken, and you have to try the horchata!

I hate to put a little place like this down, and I suspect they’ve served better food than what I was given, but based on my experience today I will not be back. I ordered a half chicken with yucca and salad to go. When I got in my car I opened the box and there was a quarter chicken, just dark meat. I went back in and asked for the other half of the chicken I paid almost $ 9 for, and they apologized and gave me the half that I ordered. On the way home I start eating the yucca. I’m used to Peruvian Chicken & Steak and Crisp and Juicy, both of which presumably salt their fried yucca, because you can happily enjoy it without the sauce. Here however it tasted as bland as can be(at least it didn’t taste like they used old oil) and desperately needed some flavor. Now when I got to the chicken it looked pretty decent, but when I ripped off a wing and bit in, I thought there must be some mistake. There was no juicy, salty, spicey flavor I’ve come to expect from the chicken at these places, just a burnt charcoal flavor. I mean, it seemed to me they ran out of seasoning and just washed the chicken to get rid of it’s natural flavor and then burned it over a pit. TERRIBLE!!! I figured at the very least I could use the sauces to provide some flavor, and the green sauce had a decent bite to it, but the yellow sauce looked and tasted like they made potato salad and left out everything but the stuff that binds it together. It’s basically mayo, mustard, and whatever the black flecks are. I mean, it’s not gross or anything, it just wasn’t as good as a lot of other places I’ve been. So, they messed up my order, and gave me some of the blandest, most overcooked chicken I’ve ever had and served it with substandard sides and sauces. I can’t imagine a situation where I’d tell you to go here rather than someplace a couple miles away.

This place has really good chicken. The side dishes — particularly the yucca«fries» and the plantains — are excellent. The beans and rice are good too. A great deal for a quarter chicken and two sides — under $ 6. The chicken is flavored perfectly. They have tables for dining in and do quick take out as well.

Had the lomo saltado, which had lots of flavor but the steak used was very low grade. Prices were moderate and the sides were pretty good. If I do go back, it will be for the Peruvian chicken.

I love this place! I’ve tried most of the other pollo a la brasa places in Arlington, and each has their strengths and weaknesses. Chililagua has great chicken, but their strengths are the yucca and beans. Their yucca pieces are chunks of the real thing, not the processed«french fry» sticks that I’ve seen at other places. The beans are rich and incredibly flavorful. My usual is a quarter chicken with the yucca and beans, which comes to about $ 5.75. It’s a good deal and plenty of food for a little guy like me.
