Sushi was superb! The sushi prices were not that great but the quality, taste and freshness was worth it. Me and my friend went during dinner time and used a Groupon for $ 20. Of course we ended up paying more. Dinner entrée pricing is considerably higher than the lunch. Entrée portions are large, though. After ordering they give you a complimentary salad with peanut dressing. We had egg drop soup and edamame for appetizers. Very good. The waitresses were attentive. Quiet atmosphere on a Sunday night. Pretty elegant interiors, sushi bar, and bar area. The orange chicken came on a large plate and the serving was enough for 2 people. My friend ended up taking almost half of it home in a box. I would return during lunch time when entrees are reasonably priced.

Though I feel like the décor is a little confusing and the service was inconsistent and I had difficulty understanding our waitress– the food was good. Sesame chicken– it was friend nicely and the sauce was good. A little on the runnier side, but still good. My husband said the coke tastes«off», but not enough to stop drinking. Sandon Hot & Sour Soup– just like I’ve had most places and it was really good. Moon Harbor– I wanted to try something I’ve never had and was very pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! It did have a lot of garlic flavor but I enjoyed that, a lot.

We have been going to East Moon for a couple years now and eaten for lunch and dinner. Their food has never disappointed and service is always fast. The Kung Pao tofu is my go to favorite, I highly recommend! The dinner portions are LARGE so come hungry or save some for lunch the next day.

My friend told me to meet here for happy hour because the drinks are cheap. He wasn’t lying! Out of all happy hour bars I been to, this has a great selection of happy hour drinks with a reasonable price. The service of the bartenders are very social and nice. I been here once, so the food I tried was the sushi, but again too wasted to remember which one. But from what I remembered, the sushi was mediocre.

Love this place as a happy hour hangout! The staff is great and build great rapport with their customers. Can’t beat happy hour every day, including weekends. Every time I go, it’s a great time. I’m pretty much always on the bar side. The food is really good too. I usually enjoy the crispy spring rolls, the salt and pepper wings, or any of their chicken dishes.

Though the service was very friendly and fast(as there were only a few other people besides us in the massive restaurant), East Moon served by far the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had. Dinner started out promising with a salad served with a peanut butter dressing(tasted like peanut butter and water, but I actually really liked it). The drinks were also very good for happy hour, though the strength of the cocktails was very inconsistent. With so many great Thai places in DC and the surrounding area(plus right across the street), you would think the quality of the Pad Thai would be better. It was like a sweet and sour spaghetti, though I did like the variety of vegetables in the veggie Pad Thai, and the tofu was also cooked well. It was a disappointment.

East Moon is my favorite local sushi joint! And when I say local, I mean right down the street from my house. AND, they deliver, which I absolutely love. I’ll eat in from time to time, but normally order out. I’ve never ordered anything but the sushi and tear through their Edamame! When I do eat in their drinks are pretty good and I’ll take advantage of the specials. A good local spot.

Love it for happy hour and their sushi. But was disappointed from one of the basic entrees(pad-see ew) not the same. Not much flavor

I’ve had two pleasant experiences dining here. They offer happy hour EVERYDAY4:00 — 9:00(?). The Coconut Shrimp and Pot Stickers are both modestly priced appetizers at around $ 7 ea, and are very good. Entrees are huge in portion, and the Lychee Margarita is Mmmm, so refreshing!

I would have given this place a 5 if it wasn’t for the terrible service. Me and my husband frequent this restaurant at least 3 times a month. Like many others have said, it’s hard to get your glass filled or even your check for that matter. The servers are so rude and short, unless you look like you have money. So disappointing especially since we love the food here. I would recommend just getting takeout to save yourself the horrible service.

Fairly decent Chinese food offered here. Daily lunch specials start from $ 7.50. Very good serving portion with lettuce salad with peanut dressing, fried rice and egg roll. Service is prompt and courteous, though some of the servers appear to be rushing and impolite. My only complaint is the cloth napkin they use – it reeks like old oil and not pleasant at all. They may think it’s fancier to offer cloth napkins, but I’d rather have paper ones if it smells this bad.

Ive been here a couple times after work since I work across the street and am happy with the service I got. They have Happy Hour every day from 4pm-9pm where it tends to get busy. Everyone is laughing and having a good time. The bartenders, DJ I believe and Heather are great, they make the time fun and interact friendly and share a couple laughs. My friend ordered food which came in a great portion but looked a bit pricey, however it tasted fantastic. Service was fast and on the spot. Great go to spot after a long day at work.

If you can’t decide which type of Asian food you really want, this is the place for you. The portions were so big we had lunch and dinner the next day! The avocado spring rolls are a great appetizer and the vegetarian options have so much flavor.

We ordered delivery from this place twice now and it’s terrific. Super friendly on the phone, quick service and terrific variety of food. We got lettuce wraps, a yummy sushi roll, drunken noodles and Kung Pao Shrimp. Loved it! Highly recommend, so happy they deliver to us! Sushi roll was«kiss of fire». Yummy!

From the peanunt sauced salad to the spring rolls to the entrées, E.M. brings perfect portions, prices and flavors to you. Before 3pm you can get two sushi rolls for about $ 10. The dinner menu will not leave you hungry. I def recommend the triple delight and samurai sushi roll.

This review comes from take out only. Okay I’m originally from Texas so moving up to the east coast is mind blowing. There’s so many awesome restaurants. Culture is so much different from the south. Anyway I’m giving you this short and sweet. I order things from this place that I couldn’t even pronounce and it was still good. Sushi is great. They give alot of sauce and food. That’s it.

Decent food. bad service. Got the basil chicken with brown rice. Their portions are huge! I really liked the basil chicken though. It had a lot of crunchy vegetables. It was filled with broccoli, celery, basil, and a lot of other veggies. This place has sushi, sashimi, thai food, etc. a good asian fusion restaurant.

Sorry, East Moon. You have not earned your keep at all in my heart. I’ve been here on several occasions, and it’s clear the quality of the food and training of the waitstaff has gone down severely since the place first opened. I’ve tried many different sushi rolls, ranging from«spicy» fish to plain vegetarian to special, more expensive options. I’ve also had many rice dishes and noodle dishes. Items labeled as spicy, whether it’s sushi or a rice dish(like the sriracha chicken) are bland and without flavor. Special sushi rolls are not innovative and boring. However, the crab rangoons are pretty decent and a good appetizer to share, and the free salad with peanut sauce is a wonderful starter. The pricing of the sushi is very high and not worth it. The quality of the fish is so bad here! Most recently, I got a salmon roll, and the fish was chewy and sticky; I didn’t finish all six rolls. There is no freshness. My body just feels bad after eating here. Service-wise, your order is taken and no one comes back to check up on you. It’s hard to get your glass filled with water on a timely basis and get the bill. I’ve had waiters/waitresses in the past that don’t remember orders; for example, I asked for brown rice, I still received white rice, and I was charged the upcharge for brown rice. The bar is always crowded on the side closest to the movie theater. It has more space(the other side of the bar faces the restaurant tables), but I don’t think it is meant to house 20 people, even though it always seems to have large groups. The service at the bar can be slow and intermittent. Drinks taste alright, but it takes a while to get them. Bottom line: please save yourself and go elsewhere! If you’re waiting for a movie, go across to another bar. If you’re in the mood for sushi, there are other options in the area that are way better.

Pretty much every Friday we call a take-out order from work into here. They have a great deal of 3 rolls, soup and salad for 11.95 that just can’t be beat. My favorite thing on that lunch special menu doesn’t involve fish at all. The Sweet Potato Roll was such a wonderful surprise the 1st time I tried it that I’ve gotten it almost every week since. There’s also a great Sashimi, Sushi & tuna roll special at lunch. Six pieces of fish, 4 piece of nigiri and a tuna roll(though I substituted the Sweet Potato Roll for a little extra). You don’t get to choose what you get — but its a good deal for $ 12.95 and when I’ve gotten it the fish has mostly been salmon, tuna and yellowtail. My only grip — the rolls are often haphazardly assembled and there have been several times where I’ve had to stick a piece back together before eating it. For the price of the lunch special I don’t mind. I’d be a whole lot more picky if I were dining in and spending the regular cost for the sushi. Some day I’ll stop in here for a sit down meal — but until then I’ll be back each week with my Friday work sushi club for our to-go lunch.
