Kingstowne

Kingstowne is a residential/​urban community of Alexandria, which offers apartments, condos, single-​family homes, as well as townhouses. Part of Fairfax County, there are plenty of walking trails, recreation centers, tennis/​volleyball courts, community pools, and even a shopping center (that includes World Market, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, Shoppers, Regal Cinemas, various restaurants, etc.). Those who are really health-​conscious will appreciate the little work-​out stations on the walking trails, where you can work out your legs, arms, and abs: P There is a residential association where they offer various announcements, community events, recycling information, and even free ‘clubs’ that you can join (such as playing bridge, chess, etc.). The place is continuing to expand with more development in the retail shops and more homes. Getting to Kingstowne is pretty convenient, with the Van Dorn and the Springfield-​Franconia Metro stops nearby. The streets are also getting a major facelift, so no more potholes! Make sure you are driving the speed limit, as there are many pedestrians and multiple stops on school days of students getting picked-​up/​dropped-​off by the bus.
