Lori Younger Salon

There’s a few things in life you really need to value… and an amazing salon/​hair stylist is one of them. I found mine with Lori and I didn’t have to go far but a block down the street from my apartment! Convenient, professional, excellent services, amazing work, and just a really good experience each and every time. I come in to see Lori without an idea of the «what» but she ALWAYS manages to read my mind and pull of the most fabulous styles and cuts. After all is said and done, I can never figure out why I let any amount of time to go by before making an appointment. Lori just makes me feel beautiful… and there’s nothing better than that feeling! Thank you Lori!!!

Very dissatisfying hair experiences, once for a cut and style and once for an updo. My makeup experience here was worse! It looked like a kindergartner did it. I had to go home and redo it myself. Such a frustrating waste of money.

I’ve been going to Sonya for years. What really speaks to her skills is that whenever I’ve talked to someone else in the waiting area, they usually say they’ve been coming to her for years too. This is a very nice salon, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s right above a great restaurant. (Love the hot dog place.) Sonya is also very good with kids. The best part may be that I always get lots of compliments after she cuts my hair. I’m loyal for a reason! (Note: On weekends, you can park in the lot across the street. On weekdays you have to park on the street, but the farthest I’ve ever had to go was a block or maybe two to find a spot.)

The location is really convenient, i parked in the Giant lot and just walked over to the salon because street parking was limited.
The salon is super cute, they have privacy divides which I like because I don’t like feeling like everyone is watching.
Very affordable for old town, great service, and great to schedule online.

Well, I figured I should write this review while I still have hair! No, seriously it could all go any day now, and I will be forced to look at hair salons like a bedraggled Oliver Twist asking for some more porridge. «Please, Sir, may I have a trim.»
Now, of course anyone who reviews a salon is really reviewing their hairstylist, and Sonya has always done an awesome job of turning this hair orphan into someone with a pretty solid cut. Michelangelo said that he simply released the image from the stone, but considering what Sonya has had to work with, she may have had tougher job making this marble head look good. As you can see, I am loyal, but as I have followed her from various salons, that loyalty has given me the chance to see the good and the bad in the salon world.
First, this place is cool! The leopard carpeted stairs pretty much establish a cool vibe from the very start, and once you hit the top of the stairs, things are as chill as a leopard lounging in a tree. I never feel rushed in this salon, and I also like the layout. The stations are set up on one side of the wall so that you really can’t see other clients getting their cut while you are perhaps feeling a bit vulnerable in your own chair. Let’s face it, nothing is worse for the follically impaired than to sit across from some wannabe rockstar while he gets highlights in his Fabio locks. The other thing that is cool about this shop is that it is right over a pretty awesome hotdog pub (Haute Dog and Fries), I rather like the idea of grabbing a dog and a beer after spending some time in the chair. I don’t know, the whole thing seems somehow more civilized.
As always, Sonya did a fantastic job with what she had to work with, and I left Lori Younger Salon feeling refreshed., So refreshed that I almost forgot to check-​in. At first I hesitated, «Do I really want to check-​in at a hair salon?» I asked myself. What the hell, why not. I punched in the the check-​in and was rewarded with special offer: 25% off Highlights! ???

Great salon; a very clean, quiet and open space! I had a roller-​set appointment with Ricara, and she was excellent! I also really liked how I could request an appointment online.
