These are the Go-To guys. They are prompt, extremely knowledgeable and total pros. They have fixed my roof, a broke frozen pipe(where they had to remove the siding and then replaced the siding, painting it and everything) fixed and repainted my ceiling, fixed my kitchen hood, re-tiled my bathroom, and lots more. We’ve had other repairs done by other places and they don’t live up to the standards that My Hunny do has set. So, I’ve pretty much maid up my mind to just keep their number in my phone and not bother with anyone else. As far as I can tell, they got the skills to handle anything I need fixed, replaced or dealt with.

Company Response: No matter what the underlying story is behind the many ways I offended them. It’s usually about the price Don’t let my Italian side fool you. They bought a deal/coupon from another contractor who went out to diagnose the problem and demanded a refund from them. Red flag number one. We were told there was a leak in the wall behind the toilet. We hope for the best when doing a job and do not try to over project costs before we inspect a job. We didn’t really know what the problem was until we inspected. We had told them that it would be $ 194 after discount to fix a broken copper pipe. we also told them it could be $ 250 or more to repair the drywall. Removing the toilet was not discussed but when we arrived and determined that the toilet would need to be removed and reinstalled in order to fix the damaged drywall from the leak. We told them there was a $ 200 charge to remove and reinstall a toilet. They then began telling us well we aren’t paying for that, «my wife is taking the toilet off as we speak» This is ludicrous we are licensed professionals. We don’t operate that way. If you want us to come to your home and repair something we are happy to do so. We would not be able to warrantee your work if you removed and reinstalled the toilet. Especially something as important as removing and reinstalling a toilet. If it’s not re installed properly you could easily have a big stinky wet mess on your hands. Something I think we can all agree a licensed professional should probably do. We have seen countless instances of homeowners doing stuff like this and then costing them selves thousands because they didn’t do it right and then caused a flood. Our mistake was not walking away right away like the first contractor did. We then discovered that the true cause of the leak was a defective spigot. Which meant we would need to remove some siding and repair it to replace the spigot. A job many contractors would charge double what we did.$ 500. We are a company that not only completes your plumbing repairs, we also repair the damages which need to be repaired after the work on your plumbing is complete. We give everybody the price up front so as you can see this guy is not really upset with us. He’s upset because his house cost him money. Near the end of his review he glorifies and revels in the fact that he’s maligned us. I’m john and I’ve never even met this guy. He doesn’t know I’m a real person with feelings and trying to raise a family. Part of the unfortunate dehumanising effect of electronic media. Suggesting we were there for a money grab as this guy does is just unprofessional, untrue and immature. Treat us with respect and we/I will always respond in a respectful kind fashion. The above is the response from the company when my husband reviewed their business on Angie’s list. To be honest I do not even know how they are still a functioning company. Saying things like«Don’t let my Italian side fool you». My husband’s review was based on both of our experiences with this company and both were unpleasant dealing with the owner John. First, our rating reflects mostly on your professionalism, above response showing you have very little. Second, the price was a bit much for the work we felt and to remove a toilet for 200 is outrageous when I have done it multiple times and no issues have occurred. Had your technician knew what he was doing(although, a very nice guy and better to deal with then john) he wouldn’t have had me knock out our drywall and take off the toilet because the issue was In fact outside but he didn’t look around at all. «They bought a deal/coupon from another contractor who went out to diagnose the problem and demanded a refund from them» spreading false information to make you look better, especially as a company, is disgusting. We called this company and did not have them come out to do anything because they said they were geared toward roofing and couldn’t help with a plumbing problem. A misunderstanding that resulted in a refund because we couldn’t use them. Sounds like common sense. You said 275 after the 119 we paid for 200 worth of services which result in paying 75. It Is clear we said the issue/leak was behind the toilet so how could it have not come up in negotiating pricing. Again a lie. And the evidence is in your review. «We were told there was a leak in the wall behind the toilet.» «He’s upset because his house cost him money. «We clearly paid you and when I(the wife) spoke to you on the phone I said we wanted the problem fixed, we obviously knew it would cost money. We even tried negotiating and when I said copper wire, you acted like I was an idiot and said, «I do not even know what you are talking about.» It was copper pipe, excuse me. Again some more unprofessionalism. And the rest is just to irritating to begin to defend. This company, namely John is extremely rude and unprofessional, we will never call them for services again.

I found this company through Angie’s List. First of all, they are bonded under a different company name, my credit card charge is another name and the person who answers the phone is named John. I have no idea where the name My Hunny Do comes from. So make sure you can keep all of that straight. I had a toilet issue and mixer(in the shower) issue in my rental property. I do NOT recommend them for any plumbing related issues. I’m sure they are fine for basic handyman work. About 3 weeks after they did the work in my condo, the toilet was leaking water because they did not install the ballcock correctly or they used a cheap part. I blame myself because they are listed under handymen but the toilet issue was really basic. I requested an itemized receipt for tax purposes and never received one. When I called to follow up about the issue that they caused which I had to pay another company $ 180 to fix, they said they would send someone out there to take a look. Then 20 minutes later, I get a text saying they had no record of my previous payment. I was sent an email confirmation and my credit card statement shows a charge of $ 469. Then I get no response. I added a star because initially John was nice to work with. They were also very prompt and got someone there on the same day which I appreciated. He did get a bit defensive when I called back about the new issue, when I wasn’t even being accusatory, I just laid out the facts. That right there was a red flag and having no record of my payment is another. I’ll never receive my itemized receipt for tax purposes so there goes that.

We recently worked with My Hunny Do to replace the baseboards throughout our entire home. They were reliable, reasonably priced, and did great work. Coordinating with the owner, John, was an enjoyable experience and the head carpenter for our project, Felix, went above and beyond to make sure the project was done perfectly. Would highly recommend and will use them again.
