Yes, they have some amazing homemade cards… but wow, $ 9 for one card is sooo outside of my budget but yes, this was for ‘mom’. The store staff(one person) was very friendly and answered any needed questions. It did pose a problem when a line full of Mother’s Day card buying folks decided to check out at the same time. They store did offer a special, buy 3 cards and get 1 free. So, I indulged.

The reviews before mine are kind of funny. Firstly, the proper etiquette for place cards is to hand write them. If you can afford calligraphy, that’s even better. Printing is better than labels, but should be considered a last resort. So to complain that the handmade place cards didn’t have stickers to print on is just silly. I’ve been to this location both before and after Kevin(the previous manager) left the company. He was a sweetheart every time I was there. The new staff needs a bit of training in the customer service department, but I don’t feel the store deserves just one star. To Stephanie — you said you didn’t change anything about the sample, except EVERYTHING: The paper, the font, the ink color. I’m familiar with ordering, as I have ordered before — is it possible that you chose a dark paper that can’t be printed in thermography? Did you do any research?

This is a review for their«custom»(pseudo-custom) invites. The store manager Kevin is horrible. We went to the Georgetown Papyrus first and the salesperson there was GREAT. We only went to the one in Alexandria b/c the location was more convenient. Do not order invites from this store. BIGMISTAKE — read on if you want details. The store manager Kevin showed us the sample books and let us browse. When we asked him questions he didn’t seem to know that much about his products… should have been the first sign. We opted for the sample exactly as it was with different color paper, font, font color, and wording… and if you know anything about wedding invites … this should have been simple. When we ordered the invites he barely wrote anything down on the order form. The whole time he gave me a pert attitude. We ordered them early January and paid for the 1st electronic proof. When we got it, the wording and spacing were a mess. We sent the exact wording and a visual to go with the corrections. We paid for the second proof thinking it was worth it b/c it would be done right the second time. Nope, 2nd proof came back wrong again. We talked to Kevin who told us that what we wanted could not be done. ??? #1 — why didn’t you tell us that before we ordered it? #2 — We asked for the exact same thing as the sample only changing the font and color. Frustrated, we notified Kevin that we would be dropping in to chat with him. He wasn’t even there when we came in. Another girl there took care of it at no charge for the 3rd proof. We got the 3rd proof — you guessed it, it was wrong again. We called to speak to the girl, but she had been fired. We had only talked to her 2 weeks before. Kevin said he would fix the invites but we would have to pay for a 4th proof. I told him that would not be an option. He would have to fix it, it was their incompetence that was the issue. We fought for 10 mins until he gave in. He said«Well are you happy? You got what you wanted» and hung up. Completely unprofessional. 4th proof. Finally it was correct, but when the invites arrived they were not the correct print type. We asked for thermography and we got flat ink. When we ordered our invites in January we ordered it with a March 31stRSVP date and it was now the 1st week in March. WTF! We stormed into the store and Kevin was MIA again. This time we spoke to the assistant manager Alex. Alex was great! Very professional and accommodating. He also gave us the impression that this was not uncommon of Kevin. Kevin didn’t complete the order form which is why we didn’t get thermography. Alex took care of us and expedited our order. We received and sent out our invites the second week in march with a march 31stRSVP date. Disaster. which could have been avoided if we had avoided Kevin and the Alexandria Papyrus.

I went into Papryus looking for placecards to put on a holiday dinner table. I do LOVE Papryus, don’t get me wrong. But here goes, I need the placecards to have printed names on them, since handwritting them would be tacky. The placecards they had you can’t print on. And they didn’t have stickers you could print on to put on the placecards. The placecards were $ 12.95 for 8; a bit pricey!
I must say though, they did have a lot of hoiliday cards on sale. The sales associates was helpful and nice, but directed me to another papery in on King Street, Paper Source. A new found joy! Follow my journey as I head to Paper Source…
