This is my first time seeing this doctor. His office is located on the ground floor of a residential building. I will update after my interaction with him.

I called because I’m going to keep bees and need to be tested for a bee allergy(just in case). I was told that he «no longer does bee allergies». He won’t even test for them. SO, if you are coming here for a broad spectrum allergy test for yourself or your child, you won’t know if you or your kid has a bee allergy. Supposedly, this is because he wasn’t getting reimbursed by the insurance companies. Last time I checked, you sign a form as a patient saying that you will pay what the insurance doesn’t – so there’s no reason the Doc should have to put their own money forward.

I love Dr. Goldberg!!! I don’t know how anyone could give him less than 4 stars. He is seriously the best allergist ever. He’s extremely thorough and takes his time to properly diagnose you by asking lots of questions and running multiple tests. He is the kind of doctor who tries to find the root cause of the problem instead of just temporarily solve your symptoms. I have been going to him for two years(every fall when my allergies kick into overdrive). He has the best bedside manners, too. I initially found him in one of the Washingtonian Top 100 doctors list. It boggles my mind that he’s still not on that list… the system must be rigged or something cause I just don’t know how you could have a top allergist/immunologist list without his name on the list!

I went to Dr. Goldberg last year for allergy testing and then decided to continue going to him for allergy shots. He is a great guy, very laid back with a dry sense of humor. I would really highly recommend him except for one issue… waiting time to get the allergy shots. Please take my review with a grain of salt because things could have changed since I stopped going there but… on the days that I got my allergy shots in the Alexandria office, the wait time was excruciating. The shortest time I ever had to wait was a little over an hour, the longest was close to three hours. This does not include the 15 – 20 minute wait time after the shot. The patient’s time is important too and who wants to sit in a doctor’s office every week for 2 – 3 hours at a time? His waiting room was always packed with patients waiting for their shots, some arriving an hour or two before the official start time. After I don’t remember how many treatments, I decided I couldn’t hack the wait time anymore. Again, Dr. Goldberg’s Alexandria office could have changed the process since I stopped going and the process may be more streamlined in his other office. Dr. Goldberg really is knowledgeable and barring the other stuff, I can recommend him for general testing, etc. and would give him five stars for that alone. I thing he’s gotten high ratings in other Washington D.C. publication magazines for best rated doctors, he deserves those ratings. However, on the wait times for allergy shots, my rating would be a one star.
