Pizza Hut

1 star only because i have to… i like the pizza just fine… but the delivery leaves a lot to be desired!!! 1 hour for 1 pizza is too much!!! And this happens regularly! If the location is that busy hire more staff!!! Dominoes estimates delivery time around 30 mins (for large orders too!) and delivers in 20!!!

Unfortunately, I must go with two stars for this Pizza Hut’s delivery services. On any random Weekend evening when craving a good old greasy cheap pizza, Pizza Hut comes to mind. However, based on several previous experiences when calling to place delivery orders at this particular Pizza Hut either it’s over an hour or actually never shows up! The staff has absurdly low standards of their services (i.e. do not take orders correctly or simply forget orders they took).
One experience when my order was simply forgotten and after calling after the 45min– 1hr– and 1.5hr times — to check on the pizza — the manager mis-​understood which apartment I was in and continued to say it was on the way until realizing it was the incorrect apartment number (1.5hrs later).
However, I will say if ordering online, there usually is a lot less confusion and/​or misunderstandings. Definitely, do not expect any early arrivals for your pizza though– it is a min. Of 45min. From the time of placing an order… in my opinion for the time and frustration, there are much better pizza places to frequent or order from rather than this Pizza Hut.

Update: the pizza I ordered at 7:38 finally arrived at 9:22, after I tried to cancel my order and was told I couldn’t because it was already out for delivery. Manager gets a quarter star for comping the pizza, which is terrible. As you might imagine, it is soggy and lukewarm. Way to go, Pizza Hut.

I’m not even sure what the point is in writing this, because this is the same review that a number have written over the course of the last couple years. But I guess the point needs to be emphasized.
I live 2.5 miles from this location. I ordered one three topping pizza at 11:08pm, and received an email stating that the pizza would be delivered at 11:53pm. Now, first I realize that a time estimate is a time estimate, that’s fine, and second I would point out that for any normal pizza joint, over a half hour to make and deliver a pizza 2.5 miles since a bit of a stretch to me.
My pizza arrived at 12:25am, a half hour after the estimated time, and lukewarm at best. The extra cheese I paid for (and I understand the merits of this decision on my part) did not exist. The driver did not apologize for being so late. I don’t think he said anything at all actually.
This location is worthless. Thankfully I’m moving and will never have to order from them again. I hope the national office reads these reviews and realizes just how far from the level of quality that I’m sure they hope to offer to customers this particular store is. Most are not that great, but Glebe takes it to a whole new level of incompetency. And FWIW, the last time I ordered a pizza from this location and swore I’d never do it again, the exact same thing had happened.
Shame on me for being fooled again (and this has happened at least four times from this store.

It’s a Pizza Hut and not much more. The place is very dirty and dark; luckily, I was ordering for carryout and not dining in. The pizza was of typical Pizza Hut quality and came out in the 15 min. time window I was promised. The staff was pleasant, nothing to write home about. Look, if you need a Pizza Hut pizza to get you through the evening, this place is fine. If you want a quality pizza, you probably shouldn’t be at a Pizza Hut anyway.

This Pizza Hut doesn’t deliver to shirlington village, less than 2 miles, but is at least consistent. I will order take out because then are quick and always good/​polite.

Lord, I hate to pile on this place but I can’t help it… it was about a week ago we visited this location.
Rude people, didn’t car about service… was very slow and still had to ask for refills, 1:15 for the pizza that didn’t taste that good… we just left it, paid the check and left,
Nope… will not be back.

Delivery, and customer service are awful.
We ordered 8 pizzas for delivery a week ago, which was scheduled to arrive at noon. We went down at noon, and waited… and waited. At 12:15 we called the store and were told the guy just left. So we waited… again. After 10 more minutes we called back and the manager was surprised the delivery man hadn’t arrived, and should be there soon. 10 minutes later I called again, and was again told he should be there soon. 5 more minutes I called again, and finally got the number of the delivery guy. He had no clue where our building was, despite the large number on the sign. He drove down our road and I and a co-​worker stood at both sides of the road and boxed him in while he still looked both ways not knowing where our building was. So at 1pm we finally got the lukewarm pizza. The manager didn’t originally offer any discount, but when I called and asked they put a $ 25 discount on our account, so long as it was delivery next time.
Forward a week, and we try to order pizza again. This time we went with the online only special of $ 8 per large pizza. After putting the order of 6 pizzas together the credit doesn’t show up online. When I call the store I explained the issue, and he asked what I’d like to order. I mentioned the $ 8 pizza special, at which point the manager (same person I talked to last week I believe) said that was an online only special. So I asked how I could get the $ 25 credit for the online order, and he said I couldn’t. I mentioned that I guess I would order from Domino’s, at which point he responds «okay».
Clearly the store isn’t interested in focusing on larger delivery orders. I can’t speak to getting pizza in the store. I do know no one else in our office will be ordering from this (and probably other) Pizza Huts in the near future.
This Pizza Hut also only offers two wing flavors, while others are offering 8. So we decided not to order wings either.

Just awful. Stay far away from this location.
Last month I ordered a pizza, breadsticks, cinnamon sticks and a 2 liter of Pepsi … The driver «got lost» and my pizza was delivered late and it was not very warm. They forgot the 2 liter and said they would be back right away with the Pepsi … 45 minutes later it still wasn’t here so I called the store and spoke with the manager, he apologized and I let him know I need this delivered ASAP … They got here in about 10 minutes and gave me a $ 10 credit for my next order.
Today was that next order … About a month after the first incident, both on a Sunday. I placed today’s order (the same order as last month) at 3:29pm and it said it would be delivered at 4:24 … The driver called me at 4:25pm and seemed flustered but claimed he would be here in 10 minutes. He showed up at 5pm … 36 minutes later than my pizza was supposed to arrive (1.5 hour delivery time). The driver forgot my Pepsi (again) and the breadsticks … And the pizza was cold when I cracked open the box. I handed it back to him and told him to take it back as well as let him know that half my order was missing. He didn’t seem happy that I didn’t take the pizza and that I would have to call the store … So, I did.
Again I spoke with a manager and informed him of the terrible service that seems to be a recurring Sunday theme as well as how disgusted I am with the lack of care & customer service this location suffers from. Not to mention, I was on hold for 6 minutes before I could even speak with anyone and then another 4 minutes to get a manager on the phone.
Pizza Hut, get your act together. I will not be back and you are bound to lose many customers if you keep this up.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with take-​out. It took an hour for me to get my cold pizza topped with ingredients I didn’t ask for. I didn’t realize until the next day that this Pizza Hut is less thsn a mile away. No excuses and Never again!

I have ordered pizza here several times. The pizzas I have ordered ALWAYS are cold, but they are cheap and taste good. Once I went there we ordered 1 large 2 topping pizza and it took 45 mins for them to even make it. the store was empty! Ithey finally gave it to me and it was the wrong pizza. I told it to the manager, he said he would fix it. They finally gave It to me after another 45 mins. Ok pizza cheap prices but service Terrible!!!

So. we were in the mood for some pizza and some beer. This place is close by and decided to give it a try and wanted to have a flash back to our High School days.
Went there was 4 of us went there … asked for pitcher of beer «we don’t do pitchers, we have bottles» okay, so ordered
and 45 mins later still no pizza, we asked the manager what was happening and was told it would be soon. So we asked for another round of beer and was told «we can’t serve you more then 3 each. What? Not at once… total. We weren’t drunk or even loud but we were asking/​complaining about the slow service.
I think they did that to get us back for complaining about the slow service. Sadly it wasn’t the flash back/​fun time we hoped…
Sadly this place is just bad, I love the area I live but this place needs an update or new management.

For what it is (super cheap pizza), I actually enjoyed this Pizza Hut location. The food was out quicker than the other reviews have indicated, which was actually pretty surprising. Maybe they stepped up their game in response to the older reviews?
I especially liked the cheese-​stuffed crust (which is pretty unique to Pizza Hut). Yes, Pizza Hut is cheap and isn’t of very great quality. It’s certainly not going to beat out Paisano’s or Lost Dog Café for quality. But for cheap, quick pizza, I can’t complain. I’d definitely be interested in stopping by for take-​out again.

NO NO NO.
I have tried to give this place the benefit. But other reviewers are right. Sometimes they don’t offer delivery. Heck, the phone isn’t answered. Orders are not done correctly. Staff is rude. The food is always cold. Stay away! If you have to have commercial pizza, stick with Domino’s.

The stores do not honor the email deals they send, and in fact do not even OFFER delivery – and at times, online ordering – despite their stated specials. Tonight, after 35 minutes of effort to place orders online and by phone, I was placed on hold for 10 minutes until it disconnected.
This is at least the 4^th time this has happened to me. I continually have terrible experiences with Pizza Hut – especially the Glebe Road location, and am embarrassed that I’ve chalked it up to an «off night» for so long. Great pizza, but terrible technology and non-​existent customer service. Definitely not recommended.

The marketing minds behind the Book It program have made me a Pizza Hut fan girl fo’ lyfe but this particular Pizza Hut is a sad reminder of why many of «The Huts» have been reduced to tiny store fronts.
The boy and I were looking forward to getting down with a medium pepperoni pan pizza so we decided to download the app on our phone and order from there. The app promised our pizza would be at our apartment in thirty minutes.
Thirty minutes go by. Nothing. That’s cool, we weren’t starving, we could wait a little. An hour goes by. We call the restaurant to see if our order got lost. Nope… it’s on it’s way but they cannot guarantee when it will arrive nor give us a refund if our pizza is not delivered fresh (wasn’t that a part of their whole marketing promos in the ‘90s?)
One hour and thirty minutes later our lukewarm pizza arrives at our apartment. By then we were HANGRY so any pizza was better than no pizza but still…
One star.

NOOOOO, I am very devastated that this is our new Pizza Hut. Usually if we are having a low key football night at home we will order a pizza, but last season kept ordering from Domino’s because they had a particularly good deal. But Pizza Hut is our favorite. So for last night’s Bears game we ordered for the first time from our new Pizza Hut, this dump.
We put in an order just before 6:20. Pizza Hut website tells us to expect the pizza at 7:59. «Whoa! That’s an excessive amount of time,» I thought to myself. But whatever, if they are incapable of getting two large pizzas with some sausage, mushrooms and onions a couple miles down the street in less than 1 hour/​40 mins, at least they are being honest about it.
We wait anxiously for the pizzas through the next 1 hour/​40 minutes, forgoing snacks so we don’t spoil our appetites — 8:00 hits. Nothing. 8:15. Nothing. Finally 8:30 hits and the pizza is now 31 minutes late, and it is now more than 2 hours since we placed the order. At 8:35, I call to inquire about where the pizzas are, and a mumbling girl apologises profusely and tells me the pizza is en route. The apology sounded very rehearsed and I got the impression that she goes through this a lot. Soon 8:45 hits — no pizza. Finally, at 8:51 I receive the call to come downstairs and collect the pizza from the delivery man. I was so excited to give the punk kid a nasty look and a terrible tip, but it turned out to be a sweet old man who delivered. Dammit! I am incapable of being mean to sweet old men and gave him a good tip and smiled through my rage.
We were not surprised that the pizza was barely lukewarm. I am curious as to when exactly the pizza came out of the oven in the two hour time span that we were waiting. My guess based on the temperature of the pizza when it came to us is 6:50.
The most devastating part in all this was finally reading the other Unilocal reviews around 8:15 and discovered that this is a very common occurrence. Crap! Pizza Hut is our favorite pizza but having to wait this long is not tolerable in a modern day society. I greatly miss the Arlington Pizza Hut location.

They are way too slow, rude and not welcoming!!! We wanna to dine in but the guy said that they couldnt tale ppl to eat in the restaurant cuz the server wouldnt be able to take us! So we end taking it to go ans they took foreve to cook it!!!

Worthless. This location of the nationally-​popular chain is locally infamous for being incredibly slow and with a sub-​par quality food selection at just average prices. Delivery times online are just the start of your journey as the actual delivery time may be much much later than you expect.
After the long waits to even get your food, the pizza is of poor quality, made from corporately-​provided pre-​mixed ingredients and lacks texture, freshness, and flavoring. I’m sorry but adding thousands of milligrams of sodium (salt) to your product may help draw out the flavor of your corporate GMO seasonings but it’s really lackluster. I understand that «it’s just pizza hut, c’mon» but this is truly horrendous on every occasion and we’ve ordered many times. Incredibly slow delivery, no one answers the phones during business hours, and the establishment is quite filthy. Worthless.
I recommend the best pizza in Northern Virginia which is Valentino’s on Eisenhower Avenue or Red Brick in Old Town or, if looking for delivery, I direct Unilocalers to Paisanos. Avoid this dump.

$ 3.25 for a personal pizza? I won’t complain. It was half way good and it is enough lunch to hold you over til dinner. As far as the ambiance and the staff of this place, well, the ambiance hasn’t been updated since it opened in the early 1990s, and the staff were not very excited to be there. It was pretty obvious.
All I can say is this place served it purpose for what we needed… a quick bite to get in and out.
