Been here many times and it is always avg so that is why for the three stars. My last visit, I stopped in to get to go breakfast since the region is covered in snow and I can walk here. They said ten minutes. Breakfast took 30 min, was brought out wrong the first time. Finally got home with it and my order is wrong and my breakfast is freezing. Pretty sure it sat in the kitchen for 20 min. Manager walked by me 3 times and never acknowledged me. One waiter and one kitchen staff seem to be doing all the work and there is too much for them to do.

Great staff and good service… very accommodating. the food is below average. seems they try to do to much n make it high end without putting great ingredients. very very overpriced

Decent to good food, moderately high prices, but incredibly slow service. I’m not sure how they manage this — I checked in at a few times and it looked like slow service both when busy and not busy. They have the«fine dining» style front of house with a full complement of specialized staff, which maybe doesn’t make the most sense for lunch, but I can’t tell if that’s contributing to slowness. They’re slow even on things which don’t involve the kitchen, so I’d suspect it’s not the kitchen’s fault. Good food, so if you’re not in anything approaching a hurry, it’s not a bad option. Seems like a solid Northern Italian menu.

i had a terrible meal at Pinzimini. I ordered a spinach salad with red and yellow beets and a margherita pizza. I was one of two tables seated in the restaurant, yet it took 20 minutes for someone to wait on me and 20 more minutes for the pizza to arrive — with no salad. Then the waiter brought it, to «enjoy» along with the pizza. She was sorry, and assured me they would be very good together. The salad had no detectable beets, but a lot of chopped up onions and I think maybe quinoa in a very acidic dressing. Nasty, bitter and sour. The pizza was most likely frozen, burned on the bottom, swimming in oil, and with an oily cheese(quite an unusual«mozzarella») and heavy tomato-pastey sauce. The crust was truly awful, heavy and very hard. Not the fresh-tomato, fresh-crust margherita I was expecting. Oh well, live and learn. A couple of years ago I had a quite nice meal here, including a very good pizza, but things appear to have gone downhill. By a lot. Cross the street to one of the real restaurants.

We were at the bar and all of the staff was great. We continue to give them a bad time and they fed off that. What a great time we had. They are the best!!!

Had breakfast there the other day. Ordered the yogurt and fresh berries. They brought me a yogurt out of the fridge that was still in the package(like what you find in grocery store), and a little bowl of berries. The yogurt was bland and tasted quite terrible, the presentation was surprising, and the berries were mediocre. So if you are expecting a yogurt parfait or similar, don’t get this.

Highs: –I’ve enjoyed the food I’ve had there. My Salmon Salad came with a large, well cooked filet of Salmon. –Lunch is rarely crowded. Lows: –Tends to be slow. –They have a bad habit of clustering tables, which makes a quiet(and private) business lunch considerably less-so. –Not a cheap lunch, if not terribly expensive either.

Worst Bloody Mary EVER! Pure horseradish! The bartender took it back, poured some out and added more tomato juice. When I explained again that it had too much horseradish, he wanted to dilute it again. My friends said the beer and wine were fine. .. but hard to goof up.

Went for a business dinner, and it was actually very quiet which was nice. We were able to easily hear each other and not have to compete with other crowds of people. The service was mediocre, and the food was OK at best. The drinks were pretty good though! I was most disappointed with the fact that I saw«lamb sliders» on the happy hour menu, but they didn’t serve them. I also saw someone else review«lobster carbonara» which was no longer on the menu.

#Pinzimini I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. At the beginning we were given some warm baguette with an oil and parmesan mixture which was quite good. My wife ate the appetizer called the cohito lobster which was also very good. For my entrée I had the wild mushroom ravioli. There were only six ravioli, which is fairly light. I asked to confirm that it was not the appetizer version. We asked if they had any diet sodas that were not diet coke, and the server told us about how she was surprised at how people wanted diet sodas, because of how bad they are for you, and use the«bad sugar,» and so on. I cut off the lecture that she should not have given us. Overall a pleasant experience. We also had the breakfast buffet, which was excellent, standard American breakfast fare. The yogurt was sweetened. The scrambled eggs were excellent.

Grabbed breakfast just before heading out. Sometimes I’m hesitant about the restaraunts attached the hotel because they tend to not serve very good meals. But I was quite happy with this one. The server was a Hispanic gentleman who was just lovely and sweet. Great service! Had a Starbucks cappuccino and simple eggs bacon and bagel. Bacon was cooked perfectly and bagel that came with it was a very tasty cinnamon and raisin.

Difficult to describe how bad this was. Ordered chicken breast. Out came an undersized chicken breast on a bed of potato chips. For $ 26. Service was attentive but terribly ill informed about the menu, unable to answer basic questions in English. I have no issue with English as a second language, but when it impedes you from doing your job, that’s a problem.

As a Gold Member with Starwood I choose these properties due to the luxury most of their properties exhibit. Staying at the Westin Arlington Gateway and having most of our morning meals at Pinzimini through Nov 22– Nov 29 was not the standard that you normally see at a Westin. The morning breakfast staff was extremely pleasant and helpful when you could find them. The ones that were working were very busy as the crowds were large and they had about 2 – 3 on staff on the floor. Wait times for tables were long, they ran out of food, toaster did not toast, no spoons for cereal/oatmeal, the bacon always ran out, and getting a staff member to get you a drink was something you needed to get up from the table and search for personnel let alone waiting to pay for the bill. A second trip to DC will prompt me to look at an additional location for our morning meals.

This was a big disappointment. We ordered the Sea Bass, which tasted so «fishy» that I couldn’t eat it. I am used to Sea Bass being very light and buttery. This seemed to come from a frozen dinner. We sent it back and ordered the rib eye– thinking that you can’t go wrong with a steak. We’ll, we were wrong. The steak arrived an hour later thin and tough(I had ordered it rare) and flavorless. Inedible. The manager comped the deserts to try and make up for it, but we still spent $ 50 for food that we couldn’t eat due to poor quality. The waitress was wonderful(Rosalia), so it wasn’t her fault. I recommend staying away from this restaurant — even if it is raining outside and you don’t want to walk. Take a cab instead.

I have had breakfast here 3 times. The staff is super friendly and even let me in before they were officially open and brought me coffee while the kitchen got going. Solid 4 stars– expensive, typical for an in-hotel establishment, and typical hotel type food– on the high end– but the friendly staff is especially to be commended!

Considering that I’ve only heard very good things about this restaurant, I was a bit to find it completely empty at 7:30 pm on a Friday evening. No complaints, though, as perhaps it was for the lack of action that we received extremely friendly and attentive service. The menu isn’t particularly extensive nor inspired, but Friday was«pizza night,» where you could get a Caesar salad, pizza, and dessert for $ 19. A pretty good deal, as the pepperoni and portobello mushroom pizza we got was $ 15 a la carte. The caesar salad was simple and fresh, with a light dressing and freshly shaved parmesan. I appreciated that our server asked if we wanted anchovies on the side. My first reaction to the pizza was that it was very salty. The crust is somewhere between a thin and thick crust – as someone who prefers thin, I felt it was a bit thick and… doughy. I’m not terribly picky about pizza, but can’t say that this was one of the better ones I’ve had. We also ordered the mushroom ravioli with artichoke hearts. Keep in mind, this is served in a broth, rather than a sauce. The texture and taste of the ravioli was good, and the flavors were very subtly vegetarian. The presentation was also very appetizing, with a touch of color added by the red and orange peppers. Compared to the overly saltiness of the pizza, the ravioli was delicate and well executed – definitely the more impressive dish. For our dessert, we chose the chocolate mousse pie. Now, I have a massive sweet tooth, and will rarely speak ill of a dessert. But the mousse pie felt like it had just been slightly thawed out from a fridge, and was neither delicate or decadent. The chocolate graham crust was hard, the mousse mediocre, and the whipped cream on top didn’t add much. While the food wasn’t amazing, I still liked this place. There was a lot of attention to detail, like the warm toasty dishes we were given for our pizzas. Their bread presentation is also nice, but if you don’t like overly-vinegary bread, stop your server before she pours too much balsamic into the parmesan and olive oil bread dip. Overall, we left satisfied. I probably wouldn’t ask to come here for my birthday, I’d be up for a casual date night when we want a short stroll through our neighborhood. Oh, and right now they’re doing a 10% discount deal for SPG members. Alternatively, there is a free appetizer check-in offer!

Solid three stars for the Pinzimini. I’ve been in the Ballston area for a few years and have been meaning to try the Pinzimini for more than just a happy hour. Luckily, Hubby and I were entertaining Saturday night and had the perfect excuse to go over. We made(and re-made) our reservations with no trouble. When we arrived, we were seated immediately in a near-empty restaurant. This usually has me questioning something about the place, but luckily everything we had was A-OK. We each ordered a cocktail: The Westini, Lemonade, and a glass of red wine. I was quite impressed with the westini, and the lemonades come in a variety of flavors — we picked strawberry. Very fruity, but all were tasty. In addition, our table ordered the flank steak, mushroom ravioli, and shrimp pasta. We each enjoyed our entrees. I had the mushroom ravioli and though the ravioli was made well with fresh mushrooms inside each. It was topped with some cheese and some sauteed veggies, which I enjoyed immensely. Overall, we liked our entrees. Our server(s) were fantastic and provided us with great service throughout the meal. We were happy with our dinners and the price. We will likely be back!

Pinzimini was a place that I always passed but for some reason, never had a desire to visit. When my friend suggested we eat there for dinner, I was about to make the argument on why we should go next door to PF Changs. Instead, I decided not to be confrontational and«go with the flow». The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Bistecca alla Griglia(ribeye steak) and my friend ordered the Lasagna al Forno. Both dishes were seasoned well and flavorful. The wine list has a decent selection. I enjoyed the atmosphere, as it never got crowded for dinner. This would be a nice establishment to meet someone for a business lunch/dinner. It’s hard for me to justify the price for the food, but since I didn’t pay I won’t gripe much. However, they do offer a Unilocal deal that handles my complaint on the price.
