Got greasy hand lotion stains on newly upholstered chair cushion. Thought no one would get it out so left it for a few weeks, sat on it etc. Took it to Sam’s and looks good as new. Yay!

Paying for dry cleaning really sucks. We brought in a comforter, like 6 shirts, and a dress and ended up paying $ 65 bucks. The location is super close(right next door to our apartment) but I’m not really convinced yet. The woman working the counter was not especially friendly. I think i’ll go back, but only because it is so close to my home.

I enjoy the workers. They are the high point of my visits. But I simply cannot pay to visit them. I must get my clothes dry cleaned! The prices are average. The shirts are returned with moderate care. Yes, you will receive a 20 percent discount if you give them a week to complete your cleaning. The alterations are okay performed with average skill. They are very convenient. It is a converted gas station. A little mowing on the sidewalk and easement would be appreciated by your walking customers. Try this place if you are in North Old Town. Otherwise, there are several places with similar quality and prices.

I think ‘A-Ok’ is an accurate description. Pricing is excellent(especially the Saturday 20% discount deal) and the folks who work there are pleasant — however Alterations are solidly so-so: I’ve asked for keeping the original hem on Jeans, and then find out they just cut them, the dresses I’ve brought in don’t come back fitting much better, etc. I also have found that if I bring something in thats stained — it’s often times a crap shoot as to whether the stain comes out or not. Granted – I understand that sometimes permanent damage can be done to clothing, but I haven’t changed many lifestyle habits in the past 10 years and never seem to have an experience with a cleaner where I think«hmm I wonder if they paid attention to when I pointed out that stain?» Solidly — an okay cleaner for a good price.

Sam’s seems to be able to clean just about anything well, generally in two or three days if you’re in no rush.(They’ll send out anything with leather on it, which can be pricey and take a few weeks.) The staff is very friendly. .. well, some are very silent but still smile warmly and the others are very friendly, the manager(owner?) in particular. :-) The price is about usual for the area — a little high to me — although this is one place I feel like I get what I pay for.(I’ll have to try Meredith’s practice of requesting the week delay!) I’ve moved around the area several times but continue to return to Sam’s whether I live nearby or not, particularly for clothes I care about.

I HATE paying for dry cleaning. And yet I’m a clotheshorse and I’m totally impractical about buying things that one can clean easily. So I find myself generally taking easy things to the cheapo cleaners near my house, and bring anything a bit more complicated here. They always do a good job and the prices are pretty much in line with what everyone else in the area charges. I usually will drop off my things on a Saturday for next Saturday pickup, which brings a 20% discount. But this is where I bring in silk dresses, embroidered things, outerwear and pretty much anything I don’t trust the cheapo cleaners with(which amounts to about 75% of what I get dry cleaned).
