The only reason I return here is because a.) it’s in close proximity and b.) the interior is very nice. However, those points become moot when the cashier greets you with a frown, behaves rigidly, and cocks up your order entirely, unwilling to refund you for the overcharge. Now I have to call customer service and explain it all to get the ~$ 5 put back on my card. This store attracts the homeless, the employees fail to manage the constant queue, and it gets very loud at times. Space in the rear is tight. There’s inadequate seating in the store, and the atmosphere is insufficient for staying a bit to work. 2⁄10 would recommend.

This is my favorite Starbucks in Old Town. It’s located in what was the old Seaport Inn, which has been around since the late 1700’s. Look outside to see people walking the historic streets as you sip your drink. The interior is cozy and charming, with wood beams and stonework. Sometimes there are buskers playing music across the street, and you’re a stone’s throw away from the Torpedo Factory and the waterfront. If you need to get back up Kings Street, take the free trolley which picks up passengers from across the street as well.

There are two Starbucks along King St., the awful one and the awesome one. This is the awesome one. The staff is polite, fast and friendly! Everyone here gets a smile, locals and tourists alike. The setting is as charming and cozy as Old Town. If you need your Starbucks fix, come to this one. You’ll walk out with a great cup of coffee in your hand and a smile on your face.

Why?! Why did I do this to myself? Was it because I was craving caffeine after being stuck in plane for a few hours?! My goodness. How do you mess up an iced latte? I realized I had made a huge mistake when I heard one barista instructing another on how to make a drink. I understand everyone has to learn sometime, BUT during a rush isn’t the appropriate time to do so. Sour and tasteless espresso shots. The hazelnut syrup could not save it. Next time I’ll donate the money to charity and not risk my friend getting a parking ticket for crappy coffee. The upside to it all: I overheard a couple of guys speaking Russian. Yeah, that doesn’t make sense to me either.

It was not the best StarbucksI have ever been to. I went there on a Sunday night just to take a little break and enjoy my time but I had to leave 10 minutes after because of the horrible, tiny space they had. They had a great cashier and the service was reasonably fast but I could not stand toilet smell they had all over the place. I won’t recommend it!

Half Decaf Toasted Graham Latte. made to perfection! Short line, well stocked pastry bar and quick with my drink — in terms of the things I care about at a Starbucks, this place delivered on every front! The place is pretty cramped and I can see it being very suffocating during busy times– other than that, no complains!

Went to many Starbucks and usually they are great This one would have got a 5 star except For the facts I order a pastry and when I asked for it in the wrapper she said they didn’t have none When I looked behind the counter I saw three trays Not a big deal but why she wouldn’t give it in a Wrapper is beyond me

Very very busy location. Never any place to sit down. Drinks always take 70 billion years to make. This isn’t the best quick stop location. If you can I recommend just talking a few more steps up to the other location on kings street!

Your coffee or tea fix will be met here. Friendly staff and fast baristas. It was crowded the day I was here but the staff was kicking the orders out as fast as they were taking them. Not very spacious and lines to use both bathrooms but I think it has to do with the time of day and or the events going on in that area. Love you caffeine? Stop here and get your injection. Thanks for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal experience and opinion.

This Starbucks, at the end of King Street in Alexandria is top notch. The coffee is always perfect and the building is quaint which makes it blend nicely with the atmosphere of Old Towne.

I would have rated this a 4 before they redesigned it. They put a big shelf of products that looks like a ten foot long version of the titanic in the middle of the room along the way to the ordering counter which is an eyesore. There must be multiple feng shui violations. I understand they want to increase their sales, but I think it can be done in a more aesthetically pleasing way without sacrificing sales. Maybe multiple smaller shelves that showcase the products while blending with the interior better. It’s a nice building with that colonial feel inside it which is tailor made to maintaining an insular cozy feel. Maybe hang some ornamental stuff from the ceiling tying in with the colonial theme.

Always very busy — but line moves quickly. Quaint waterfront location… Some seating in back with outlets and tables.

Oh man, this location is TINY. Plus it’s in Old Town, so naturally it’s always crowded. The inside is pretty cool though, it reminds me of a cave. Stone ceiling and walls, etc. The service seems to be pretty fast, and there is a bit of seating. Its location is great – I usually stop there after walking down King St and before heading to the water. I don’t drink coffee so I can’t speak to that, but they make their non coffee drinks very well.

Ich gestehe: Ich bin Starbucks-Fan, auch wenn ich Starbucks für grundsätzlich überteuert halte. In good old Europe wie in den Staaten.

It’s hard to go wrong with a Starbucks so I would typically review one but this particular one is worth a shortie. The store is in a very old building, a bit cave like but they have renovated it an kept all of the old bricks on the walls and created a bunch if little books and crannys for sipping you coffee!

Coming in after the Starbucks on South Glebe Road, this is the second most comfortable Starbucks for me. The stone walls, concrete flooring, dark wood furniture, and B&W photography adorning the walls make me feel like I’m at home away from home. Very cozy. Outlets are readily available. Street parking is scarce and that would be the only con of this location… Sorry for being in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Starbucks lol.

I had the pleasure of working at this Starbucks for a year and I have to say, what people appreciate about being customers is the same thing I appreciated about being a barista… in reverse. The customers(for the most part) are friendly, generous and understanding of the quick pace of this Starbucks. And the management and fellow baristas are the best in the business, in particular the ever-cheerful Adama who manages the store. HIs leadership and attitude were part of what kept me wanting to work there. As a Starbucks customer, I have to say that other Starbucks I go to are always shadowed by this Old Town location. There just isn’t a better Starbucks in the DC area. Parking is bad, but that’s because it’s such a foot destination. Take the metro, and trolley and come enjoy Old Town for the day, being sure to stop in for some Holiday warmth at Starbucks on the Potomac riverfront.

One thing that Starbucks does that warrants some plaudits is repurposes existing buildings for *some* of its locations(although I wish they did this more). Rather than gutting their spaces, they keep the existing fixtures and build around them. This is the second coolest repurposed Starbucks I’ve been to(after an old bookstore in Toronto). Built in an abandoned restaurant from the 1700s, and still adorned with some of its accouterments, the walls in this location are the original stone — and include the original chimney. It’s like a piece from a historical museum built into a Starbucks. I get distracted from my work each time I’m here just staring. Despite sitting at a(slightly nicer) Starbucks table, I have always felt the spirit of the original restaurant looking at the finely crafted stonework of the back room. The added bonus of this Starbucks is it’s slightly less of a crapshow than the«modern» one further up King Street and there’s a lot more seating. Now one thing to keep in mind is that the climate control is a bit old school in this one as well due to the building. When I’ve been here in the winter, it has been chilly. But the internet is modern and there are a lot of electrical outlets. Sure there’s a great little tea shop around the corner that’s preferable. But this Starbucks is far better for lingering and passing the time in Old Town. Even if the area is all, proudly, about the local businesses otherwise.

Update: Great new look, very bBottom line: A+ service! Baristas are very personable! Now my favorite Starbucks! Great service at this Starbucks. Old turn of the century harbor house, with lots of exposed stone walls. I come here often on Saturday mornings… always busy. Just had a minor issue with my Starbucks card, and the staff made it up with a free coffee credit and made sure my charges were 100% accurate.

My fave Starbucks so far :) They have perfected the venti iced soy chai and as you may not think it takes an artist to make one of these, I say it does. I have been ordering iced soy chai for years in NYC and without fail I receive a watery thin drink with way to much soy vs chai. Now, as I travel around the United States I have had well made iced soy Chai but none that compare to the ones I get in old town at this location. It is located in a historical building with tons of preserved charm. The staff are amazing, helpful and truly do a great job. They are always smiling and friendly :)
