Starbucks

Was in town on Vacation, so came by after the morning rush, say 9 or 9:30. One other person just finished receiving their order. I ordered two coffees, and the barista wasn’t in a good mood at all. Before I finished the order he stepped away to start pouring the coffees. He was short with me and rude, didn’t hand me the drinks, but put them on the other side of the counter, where made drinks are left. Then took my credit card and called for the next order.

This Starbucks opens at 6 during the week– the earliest in the area besides the drive thru on Rt 1. It’s located inside the left (west) entrance of the Safeway. In the mornings I’ve seen that they have a full crew, but that goes to a single barista in the evenings. They have the new smoothies here that the others in the area don’t have yet. I got to about 5 Starbucks in the Mt Vernon area between Belvoir and Beacon Hill– I’d rank this second out of the 5 in the area. There are a few places to sit with tables near the front window.
The store manager stopped in and checked on the staffing while I was there– it was like he was wanting to make sure everything was covered. Good to see. It’s clean, not too compact and the staff smiled when taking my order. That is not something you always see, but I have here.
