This place has slipped. Went here a while ago and the food was great! Just went back today and it seems that the place is doing downhill. Still has a great atmosphere with the cozy fireplace and wine wall but the food just isn’t what it use to be. The portions have gotten smaller but the price has remained the same. My husband ordered a side of bread with«raspberry preserve» which was simply a packet of smuckers. I had chicken and waffles. Chicken was great but the waffles were cold, lacking in flavor, and wish bitter cheap tasting syrup. The butter that came with our dishes appeared in the form of frozen balls of cheap margarine. A shame this place has sunk a bit. Use to be a wonderful dining experience and now it’s just over priced and less than satisfactory.

I know I loved this place last time here several years ago. I think I may have ordered the same dish last time as tonight. And I’m sure I loved it as much. Salmon with the Corn Risotto and Asparagus. Downright delicious and fresh. Beer menu is abundant and a cool atmosphere. Add great, friendly staff and why go anywhere else?

14 beers on tap, 200+ beers in bottles/cans, gluten free beer available(Omission lager and Pale Ale), large selection of liquors, open till 2am. Whats not to like. Didn’t try the food, you’ll have to look elsewhere for that review. PS drink prices are not cheap but not exorbitant was about $ 45 for 1 Guinness, 1 Omission Pale Ale, a double Maker’s Mark, and a single Maker’s Mark.

T.J. Stone’s is quickly becoming my go-to sports bar in Alexandria. Suffice to say, I’ve only experienced the tap room. It’s a great place to catch the game on the weekend, as it’s never too crowded, there are plenty of TVs, they offer high-top tables, and the service is solid. I’m happy with the beer selection here — they offer a good selection of craft beers including my favorite, Bell’s Two Hearted. I would not refer to myself as a barbecue fan but, damn, the brisket sandwich here was splendid. So good so that it’s become difficult to resist taking another sampling off the barbecue menu on my return visits. Nevertheless, I branched out and tried the salmon, which did not disappoint. As you can see from my review, I am a fan of T.J. Stone’s. If there’s a game on I want to see in a lively crowd(go Eagles!), I can’t think of a better option in the area(save for Southside 815, which is usually too crowded). I for one am looking forward to becoming one of the«regulars» at this local sports bar.
