I bought a couple of sub sandwiches from the Sub Shop. I thought food was good but pricey.

The subs are exceptional. There are a large amount of fillings in them and everything is very fresh. I found myself full after the first half of the Italian sub and had a readymade delicious mid-day stack to take with me. So much better than the conveyer belt stamped sandwiches at a chain sub shops.

The best option for Catering anywhere around! Didn’t want to cook for Memorial Day — so called Algonquin Sub Shop. Tray of a variety of subs was a big hit, and the BBQ Beef is fabulous!!! Ordered salads too — Smoked garlic red potato salad, Tri Pasta Salad, Danish Spinach Salad Everything was fresh, great portions/price and my guests raved about it. So think of them not only for individual meals — but use them for catering too!

Yea — they are huge. Lots of love in this little dive(that’s a compliment). Everyone knows and goes there. If you don’t go, you’ll have missed out on an Algonquin institution — a holy place. So go — there’s truly a sandwich for everyone — and when they do those crazy tea mixes — hmmmm, nice. Just always have a surprise there. Don’t delay — become a part of the community. Eat something from A.S.S.

I can’t believe I didn’t right a review already for my absolute favorite sub shop. The bread is always fantastic and all the meats are delicious. Used to go with the Al Capone now I’m all about the capicola but I’ve never had anything bad. It’s so good.

I have never been here and wanted to try due to the high reviews. My husband ordered bbq grilled chicken sandwich and I opted for the chicken Florentine converted into a salad. Both chicken items were so dry you could not chew them. I had asked to omit mushrooms and they were placed on the side. I asked for my chicken to be placed on a bed of lettuce and I got this huge mound of spinach. The dressing given doesn’t go with a spinach salad. The guy behind the counter looked mad like we were inconvencing him. Way overpriced for what you get. I hope I don’t get sick. Also, I guess sides are seperate. Was not asked if we wanted fries or chips with the sandwich. Won’t be going back there. I thought it was a family run business.

What a nice little gem, found this place just by doing a drive by. I saw it and turned around like that looks like a place that night be a little known local secret. I was totally right not reading one review before trying and the food is great. The selection of the menu should be able to support any type of persons palate. I had the number 2 which was very delicious and fresh ingredients.

We passed by here on our way home and pulled a u-turn to check it out. My husband and kids got cheeseburgers and I got the Farmers Market Vegetable soup. They all said the burgers were really good. The soup was fantastic!

The only food establishment within a 15 mile radius that follows through on the promise of delicious. We had the chili cheese fries, cheesy beef sub, gyro sub and the kids cheeseburger. Everything was fresh delicious homemade and affordable. If you haven’t tried them out please do!

Great sub sammiches! Yankee Doodle is my go to sub! Wife likes the California. Did a nice job of catering my daughter’s 2nd B-day! Everyone enjoyed the food. They need to start offering Wraps as a substitute to the bread!

The service has improved recently. I don’t have to wait for a while to get my food like before. When I went there a few times almost a couple years ago, it took me like 25 minutes to get my sub sandwich and almost all of the tables were filthy. But, anyways, I’m impressed that I can get my food in 5 – 10 minutes! Their sandwiches are freaking awesome! Way better than Subway!!! Al Capone is #1!!!

I’ve been here a few times before… always good. I ordered the Italian beef sub… the beef was just the right amount of spicy… melty good cheese, and the bread is fresh and just right. Seriously, folks… step away from the Subway and Jimmy Johns… and give this place a try. So, so, SO much better!

I echo the 5 star reviews on here. these cats are sandwich ninjas. great menu, but they’ll make you anything you ask for. it gets pretty busy during the peak lunch/dinner time frames so it pays to call ahead. If you’re a first timer i suggest ‘The Capone’ or the philly cheese sub. I get 2 subs to-go every visit with one always being ‘#24 Texas Chili Rub’. Best sandwich ever. lucky to have this in near-by — a great high-quality staple with great food, good vibes/character inside, and top-notch staff that never lets you down.

A great place when you are craving a sub sandwich. The subs here are large, so come hungry! This place rivals Bub’s subs, but I still prefer Bub’s. My go to order is the Capone.

It’s hard to find a good sub place around these parts. I’m too snobby for Subway and I’m too jaded from eating Po’boys from Verti Marte in NOLA to really enjoy anything else. Algonquin Sub Shop can be considered a welcome respite from the disgusting excuses for sandwiches that are sold around here. It’s a tiny little place, looks like an old house, but inside boasts a few tables and chairs for you to sit down and hunker down. They offer over 20 unique subs, and to my husband’s delight, they have alfalfa sprouts. He used to work for Jimmy Johns and he said that’s the part his misses the most. So they loaded him up with sprouts and he was a very happy man. Prices were reasonable, on par with the usual sandwich shop. Sandwiches were cut in half and more than enough for two meals. Try their brownies too, they’re in an adorable little tin and have M&Ms on top :)

I’ve driven past the Algonquin Sub Shop many times, but never stopped in until today. Their menu is really great. With 20 to choose from, there is a sandwich for everyone. I ended up choosing #18 on multigrain bread. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. The bread was super soft and fresh, the chicken was tender, juicy and well marinated with lots of flavor, the bacon was thick and good quality, the tomatoes were ripe and even the mayo/ranch combo was good — there was also lettuce, onions, avocado and cheese on the sandwich, which all worked perfectly together. The sandwich itself is piled high so prepare to have a very filling lunch. I could have stopped at the first half, but it was too good to save for later. My Mom ordered the #14 All American and she loved hers equally. She also commented on the fresh bread and quality ingredients. We can’t wait to return and try some of their other sandwiches!
