They just closed their doors last Monday, so no more Mimi’s at this location.

Adam took wonderful care of my husband and I on a Sat. Night. We were first timers. Everyone was extremely nice. Fast service. Wonderful bread and carrot raisin bread/muffins. He enjoyed his Mahi Mahi and veggies., Caesar salad. Artichoke hearts were tasty. Cobb salad was huge and superb. I will definitely be back. Next time I will try lunch. Thanks for an extremely wonderful dining experience.

The restaurant started out good a year ago but its going downhill. Good: environment is cozy. The food used to be worth the wait. Bad: their latest menu is horrible. Many items have changed or have been removed. Food is overpriced. Service is slower than a snail. Horrible: ordering a «new» salmon salad and getting it with no salmon. We then waited 20 min for the waiter to finally come back so we could tell him. Took another 20 min to get it replaced.

Went to this place twice. The first time the food was so-so, and the second time it was sup par. I would not reccomend it for the price your paying. Plenty of other options in the commons.

Our first experience with a Mimi’s restaurant was in Tucson AZ and ate there many times …5 stars. We were so excited when we saw a Mimi’s opening in Algonquin a few years ago. What a disappointment … Algonquin location is a shadow of Tucson. We really tried hard to find something good there(at least six visits) but nothing … Famous carrot bread here needs improvement. Makes me sad to the people in this area not to experience a once really great restaurant chains food and breads.

I came here for breakfast the other day with a friend. She had been ravings about the Cinnamon Brioche French Toast, so I just had to give that a try. We were warmly welcomed by a hostess who asked which meal we were coming for(they have 2 separate menus). We decided on breakfast and were seated right away. The décor is cute — reminds me of old school jazz. We got water right away, and then had to wait for a while for our waitress. When she came we ordered our drinks and food. The drinks came quickly, but the food took a little while. We asked for juice, never got it(but was charged), asked for ketchup more than once, and never saw her again until we needed the check. The service was very disappointing. The food itself wasn’t bad, but not the best. The cinnamon brioche french toast was good, but the potatoes tasted like plastic, and the bacon was way too salty. You do get a lot for your money, but I don’t feel like the quality is there. They also don’t serve hash browns… and I know it’s stupid… but that makes me sad. That’s like a breakfast essential. So overall, it wasn’t the best I’ve been to… and not even really good. I don’t think I would come back.

This place… needs more 5 star reviews so here it is. While Mimi’s is a chain and I normally do not like to support big chains… it is that good. $ 13.99 for a 3 course meal and it is so delicious! The service was great and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I’ll definitely be going there again soon.

Great place, like the décor !! Corn soup and turkey sandwich, it was good. Bought so of the soup to bring home. Your first time at Mimi’s they give you a couple of wonderful muffins to bring home. Really good !!

This is the perfect example of a restaurant not succeeding because it is poorly run. I really think this place has potential, but always end up dissatisfied when I leave. First the positives — 1) Atmosphere is great. Comfortable, clean, cozy. If I were visiting a restaurant based on how it made me feel, this would be it. In fact, it’s pretty much the sole reason I keep subjecting myself to the negatives of this place. 2) Another good thing about this place are the baked goods and the French onion soup. Again, if that was all I was craving, this place is good. Now the ‘improvement suggestions’ - 1) Service — Almost always subpar. From being cocky and rude to just downright slow — It seems I am always having issues here. 2) Some food items — I love hamburgers and chicken — but not from here. The menu is very inviting and then, when you get the food, very disappointed. Chicken is always overdone and dry. Burgers are tasteless. 3) Management — The managers, although nice, are very young and inexperienced. We witnessed a number of issues with other customers on our last visit and were surprised how a couple of customer service issues were handled.

The food sucked! I am not sure if they had an off– night, when we went, but it was terrible. The place is not made for kids.

As much as I hated my first experience, enough time had gone by that I thought maybe I’d try it again. I went for an after Christmas Breakfast with my parents. And the only reason that this place has one star is because I can’t give it any less. We were sat quickly and our server came and took our drink orders quickly. But it went downhill REALLY quickly after that. When he brought back our drinks we put in our food orders, and never saw him again!!! We were there for 50 minutes, with no food, no coffee refills, and no server. We noticed the people at the table next to us get up and leave cause they had been waiting an hour for their Breakfast. At that point I looked around and saw that the entire dining room was without food. There was one server keeping her tables refilled and apologizing about the kitchen back up, but ours was nowhere to be seen. Finally, we got up after almost an hour, went to the pay counter to pay for the 2 coffees &1 tea so we can leave. The manager offered no explanations and said they will take care of the drinks. Whoopty Doo! I wouldn’t recommend this place to ANYONE!

I’m not sure why this place has so many poor reviews. I’m usually pretty picky but if you are looking for a diner-style setting with a wide range of choices in the menu then Mimi’s delivers on those. The muffins are awesome and we always get a 4-pack to take home. I’ve tried a few different meals and they have always been good, not spectacular but up to par with what I would expect. The prices are a little on the high side for a diner but only just buy a bit. The service has always been good as well, no issues come to mind and it’s typically busy when we’ve gone and I don’t recall ever noticing long waits for seating or food. That being said I don’t think we’ve ever made a conscious decision to go here for dinner but when shopping in the area it’s a nice place to stop when you don’t want to fight the longer wait times at many of the other restaurants in the that area.

Don’t go. On a holiday season Saturday night at 7 pm the restaurant is half empty, yet they made 7 parties of 4 or fewer wait 20 minutes each for a table. Their reason? They want to keep the work steady for their staff. Sorry, but that’s unacceptable. Schedule more staff if there’s too much work in filling the tables on a SATURDAY night during holiday shopping season! You forgot the I’m the customer beyotch.

This is my return back after I said I wouldn’t because the service is awful but my car was being serviced and we wanted breakfast. My son orders a turkey ciabatta and me a wrap. The turkey has a bone in it and almost chokes, so we say something about it, mgr comes over apologizes and ”will look into it” well she never returns after her invetigation and we’ll never return due to the ongoing bad service

It’s a bit difficult to write a review of Mimi’s. Why? It’s good and it’s bad. I’ve been there several times, and usually I’m down with the food, although I can say that the service is, as others have said, inconsistent. It also seems(and perhaps this is because I come from a marketing perspective) that they didn’t really define their audience. On one hand, you walk in and it is decorated beautifully, but one room can seem like it has more of a bistro/bar focus and the other room is more farmhouse-y in feel. They have a great bar and no one is ever in it. Never seen a bartender there for that matter. I will say this– most recently I took my niece here for breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict and she had Chocolate Chip Mickey Mouse pancakes. The coffee– HORRIBLE. I am a coffee snob yes, but to me, it’s almost difficult to find truly bad coffee that reminds one of the days before Starbucks/Caribous/Seattle’s Best etc. This coffee I could not even drink. They really need to focus on that. Eggs Benedict was divine– they use a really thick slice of Canadian Bacon, the hash browns were lovely and everything temp-wise was on target. They have an extensive menu… it just to me seems like they could fine-tune the atmosphere, decide if they want to be a homey-family type place or a bar/bistro type place and then staff to match that. I think the service thing is that the staff is so varied,…some older, some younger, and they don’t seem to enjoy being there, with a few exceptions. Overall, I will continue to go back, the food is worth it totally.

I am a Mimi’s addict. I love me some Mimi’s. Love their soup. Love their Turkey Cobb Wrap. Love their petite desserts. Love that they always have coupons. Love it. Occasionally, I have gone outside the box and tried something different on the menu and have been dissappointed maybe twice, but otherwise, love this place. Servers are great for the most part.

When I played Soccer Mom for a few days, I offered to take the kids somewhere they have never been. In a sea of chain restaurants in the outer perimeter of a mall, this looked very cute and a little different so we gave it a try. Very prefab interior with the token faux French vibe yet diner booths. The entire staff save the manager seemed to be pubescent locals with no knowledge of the food or wine on the menu but thats okay, they were nice and smiley. Food was okay, the chicken tenders reminded me of the Gougonettes from the old Arnie’s. Love Panko crusted chicken although for $ 8.00 the portion was incredibly weak. The kids ordered fettucine alfredo with chicken and a giant breakfast for dinner while I went with the Yankee Pot Roast. It was awesome as were the mashed potatoes, however, the gravy they served was awful and most likely out of a packet. I am so glad I ordered it on the side for it surely would have ruined the delicious flavor of the tender meat. We got there early enough to avoid the rush which was nice but it filled up pretty quickly on a Friday night and was full of extended families and weekend dads taking the kids out. Would I go out of my way to go back, no. If in the area exhausted from shoe shopping would I pop in, sure. Note: The fire alarm went off at the end of the meal and BLARED for about 15 minutes causing all the kids to start screaming(I don’t blame them, I was about to) and the manager did nothing to appease the guests, not even an explanation that it was a false alarm. If it wasn’t for hot fireman showing up, that would warrant a little star subtraction…

I was really captivated by the purple roof. In the winter, with a few inches of snow it looks so inviting. I was waiting a while for the place to open and when it finally did I brought a friend along. It was a nice day so we were able to sit outside. Service was slow but friendly… we attributed it to our seating location, but, it seems like other people have had similar experiences. There was nothing special about the food though. It was almost a completely generic diner menu. I thought there would be more to the place, like a theme at least, but, I was disappointed. The quality of the food wasn’t bad though, maybe a bit on the bland side, but not horrible. I just wish there was more to it.
