My daughters teacher was good but the owners attitude leaves slit to be desired. When my daughter was sick for 3 weeks she charged me anyway even though I gave her notice. With all her other activities and trying to catch up on missed homework, doubling up on lessons by trying to do 2 a week when she felt better was not a reasonable option. We also had to pay when we went to our summer home. The owner wears her country club sweater and drives a fancy car but yet can’t withhold payments when your kid is sick or go on vacation. Well we called at least 7 other music teachers and none would charge for those things so we’ve happily switched.

I purchased a groupon for my 8 year old daughter who wanted to learn the guitar. She’s been going for the last month and I’ve already purchased more lessons. Her teacher is Eric(hope I spelled that right) and she thinks he’s awesome! She always looks forward to going and she thinks he’s hilarious. On the first day she was given a syllabus and a binder that she adds to each week with more homework on that weeks lesson. All in all I definitely think it’s worth the money. P. S. I did not have those issues other reviewers complained about regarding the appointment times. I got a 430 spot with no problem.

Got sucked in with a Groupon, which is ok, I knew the $ 88 a month was coming. Lets start with the positives: 1) The counter help is very friendly 2) The teachers, knowledgeable and great with kids. 3) Easy to get to(Algonquin location), right off of Algonquin Rd. But here are the negatives: 1) Hard to schedule an initial lesson. There’s almost always a «waiting list». 2) They are open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons and Saturdays only. The hours aren’t bad, perse, but they aren’t overly accomodating, either. 3) As a previous poster mentioned; if your child wakes up on «lesson day», not feeling well? You can’t call and ask to make-up the lesson at another time. You are either going to have to send your kid in, sick, or just take the hit. If that happens a couple times in the cold/flu season? That adds up. Something I noticed recently, they have Groupons going(3 in the past 6 months), but always have a «wait list». I’m baffled, why are you advertising for new students, if you are, in fact telling your current students that there’s a «waitlist» which could be a month, 3 months, etc. I won’t speculate here, but ya, something sounds a little off. I gave it two stars, primarily because my child *did* enjoy the lessons, but that’s about it. We gave it up after 4 months of going. Too many conditions, too expensive for what your child may or may not get.

Great place to learn an instrument! All the teachers hold degrees in music(unlike EVERY other music store i contacted) and they have literally thousands of guitars among their three locations! I will continue to bring them all of my business — highly recommended!

When they were in Dundee they had a great store. Tons of vintage guitars and a good selection of amps and pedals. Their new store is horrible. Maybe a dozen cheap amps, and just a few guitars that only a beginner would consider.
