Unique Nails

My niece was getting married and at the last minute I decided to get my nails done. I’ve been to Unique Nails a few times because it’s near my house. I called for an appointment and they said «Come on over». The gal helped me pick a color because I had too many choices, she asked what colors I would be wearing. I told her and said I don’t like red. She picked a very nice shade of dark pink. I was out of there in less than 30 minutes with No Chip polish and my nails look great. This isn’t the fanciest place but they did a great job in a short amount of time. My kind of place!!!

I went with a friend based on her recommendation and I was not sorry. We had a small wait (expected). The techs were beyond friendly and kept us laughing throughout the process. The work was superb. Nearly a week later and there are no chips and all 10 nails are still glossy and pretty.
I’m very squeamish about the cuticle portion of a manicure but the young man was so good and had such a delicate touch, I didn’t even feel it.
This salon is more than a bit out of my way but for the quality and prices, I’ll be back.

I’ve had my nails done here a couple of times, and they do a really great job! However, the past two times I’ve tried to get my nails done I’ve had to wait (which I don’t mind) only to have several other people with appointments walk in and get served right away. I don’t mind that either. What I do mind is sitting for 45 minutes only to be told «sorry, we have a full afternoon of appointments». Please tell me that when I walk in!
Otherwise, the mani/​pedis are great and the price is right! And, make an appointment!

I have been visiting this nail salon off and on for a few years. The services that I have had here include pedicures, gel sets/​fills and eyebrow waxes. The staff are friendly and enjoy conversing with you which I have not seen at other nail salons. I am not familiar with their names, but I have had everyone there as a technician and have never had a complaint.
They are also accommodating with requests for designs or specific ways on how you want your nails to look.

This is actually called Unique Nails with an S. It’s located in a strip mall on the north end of Algonquin Road. It is a corner unit, so you have a view of the drivers stressed out during rush hour while you’re sitting in comfy chairs being pampered.
This place needs a serious renovation. It’s very dingy. HOWEVER, they are all so nice and talkative, which is really rare in a nail salon. I’m Deaf, so I’m not much of a chatter anyway, but they are all very pleasant.
I’m really bad with names, so I can’t say who I’ve had. I’ve had both the pedi and the mani. The pedi is very nice — great massage and they wrap your legs in hot towels. The mani was basic. Nothing special.
This place is right on my way home from work and it’s never crowded, so sometimes I like to just stop in and kill some time. Would I go out of my way to come here? No. There’s better salons closer to my home. But for a pit stop on the way home, this is great and one of the better pedi’s I’ve gotten. Same prices as other comparable nail salons.
