This place had a bad Unilocal review but I gave it the benefit of the doubt… Wow! What a mistake. Management really needs a tutorial on etiquette 101– I clearly explained over and over that I was a first time customer which no one seemed to care about. I was harassed about meeting«their requirement» for 4 people with only 2 people an hour here… I was drinking for 6 people but he didn’t seem to care the hostess was just as rude. The manger sent there hostess to harass us when i told her we will cash out she said«ok» we eventually had 4 people in our party after only two of us spent $ 100 we will be happy to give our hard earned money to a more appreciative bar. Lessened learned to stick to our local bars and screw new places. What a waste. We won’t be supporting new local business anyone

I’ve been here a couple of times and usually for happy hours or just for their Steak Nacho Fries… good golly these fries are amazing. The fries are deep fried and seasoned topped with a good helping of steak, onions, guac and sour cream. Even by the last bite, the fries were still nice and crispy.

Came to this place last night. I really enjoyed it, it was a nice vibe, I had a really good Michelada! Those are always a hit or miss, but I really liked the one I got here. They had a DJ playing good music, definitely coming back here again.

Unilocal really needs to have a 0 star rating for shit places like this. Let me tell you that the security isnt there to keep people out, its from keeping people from leaving this shitty establishment. And honestly… if this place was in some 3rd world country maybe i would give it 3 stars instead but look around… you have WAYY better options. The food taste like its been sitting on the counter. Drinks are okay, but shit how hard is it to go wrong with drinks… If you want to waste your money then go to 28 west, its like paying someone 20 bucks to kick you in the balls.

Hmmmm… for what it is, the drink variety is good… But wish the bar food was better… this rating is STRICTLY about the food… I’ll admit, I had four instances where I questioned where the rest of the food was for each happy hour item we ordered. Wings were just ok, shrimp for the bacon wrapped shrimp were actually«shrimp» and tiny… and normally, you would wrap an entire bacon around some sort of giant shrimp or something, but it was clear that the bacon was cut in half or even a third because that shrimp was so small… can’t even describe the flavor on the wings with that runny blue cheese… actually left one behind and those that know me, rarely see me leave wings behind… greatest thing about this experience was that I got to enjoy a bulleit and an awesome game!

I wish I could say this place was a good time. Ladies be very careful, bouncers will throw you out for informing them of sexual harassment. My friend who was not intoxicated, informed Oscar the bouncer that an idiot groped her and because he did not want to deal with it he tossed not only my friend but all of us out. You need people who enjoy their job and can care about what they are doing. You lost customers and from now on we will inform individuals of this occurrence. Be better and do better it’s not okay to grope women and it’s a shame that it was allowed in this establishment.

Soooo… I’ve been coming here for happy hour with my girls for over two year, and I’ve realized that their service here has gone down hill. Twice in a row, we’ve ordered well drinks and they taste like juice, when we brought it to their attention, they wanted to charge us for an extra shot. The waitress just smiled and we explained again it is juice then we asked to take it back. After who we think is a manager actually took care of it. I understand that happy hour doesn’t mean that the drinks will be strong with alcohol but they should make an attempt to have some alcohol taste. Another time I paid cash and didn’t get my change, I guess the waitress assumed that was her tip and kept it. I think we will be looking for a new happy hour location with better service.

This bar was cool. Kind of a more old school bar. When we arrived it was pretty empty but its huge inside and I would Imagine its fun when its really packed for games or the live bands. The Happy Hour Prices were great! It was $ 5 whiskey Wednesday which I quickly took advantage of. The bartender was gorgeous and really nice. If your in the area I would say check it out. :)

I came here yesterday with a coworker during their happy hour(5−8pm) for their Buffalo Wings($ 6). Their buffalo wings were definitely better than I expected and it came out faster than expected. My coworker got the $ 4 well drinks during their happy hour and he said it was a good price. There was barely anyone there. I think there was probably only like 4 other people there besides us in the entire restaurant and it was around 5:45 pm. It’s definitely a good way to kill traffic time before heading back home and if you’re looking to catch up with friends, too. There’s parking in the structure behind the restaurant and plenty of parking, too. The drivers are all impatient(it is rush hour after all), so I would just be careful of that. Another problem was when I walked into the restaurant from the back, the floor was real sticky. I think this is a prominent and normal issue with a lot of other bars, so I would overlook that issue. If I were to come back again, I would want to try either the fries or the lettuce and chicken wraps. Even though the food was during happy hour, I think you’d probably get a better deal on food elsewhere.

See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil. Too loud, music at 110% aka club status. Not bar level. It was a Friday night though. Everything next door — Rabbit Hole, 38 degrees ale house, Ohana, has something more to offer, from ambiance, to class, to beers, to food, to actual drinks. They probably don’t have as many TVs though.

After some drinks at Vino and before heading over to Rabbit Hole, we checked out 28 West. It was a Thursday night and the music was a mix of 80s and 90s. The music was a bit loud, but the drink specials were decent. 2 for 1 well drinks(both need to be served) and $ 1 off tap beers. The tap selection was pretty comprehensive. We didn’t try any food. The vibe was fun as customers were dancing and having some serious fun. A few large LCDs playing games for the night and a relatively large seating area makes 28 West a bar worth checking out. I know that I will again.

I took a few of my girlfriends bar hopping, and randomly entered this place. The ambiance is quite sweet, neon red back drop behind all the sweet poisons, flat screen TV with choices of sports, and cute bartenders. There is a lounging area near the entrance, and a small dance floor is right there for you when you are feeling tipsy. The back area has a few tables that’s more private and intimate, perfect for a hang out after dinner on a date night. Live DJ on weekends. The DJ was awesome and bought my friends drinks after drinks, I guess he could use some lady love as well. The crowd is very lay back. A long maroon hall way lead to the bathrooms and the back patio designed for smokers. The patio is connected to the small common garden area, nice a quiet place to enjoy a breeze of fresh air. The drinks are delicious, large selection of beer on tab. The one thing I am not entirely satisfied, is that they stopped serving food after a certain hour. Some greasy fries or spicy wings would marry the cold IPA and complete the experience. Happy hours Monday thru Sunday 5 – 8, yes, you read it correctly, there is happy hour even on Fridays and Saturdays! 28 West is definitely a cool joint to hang out with buddies after a long day of work!

I came in here for the first time a few weeks ago. The place is huge but it was dead. Dead like me, my two peeps. The bartenders and like 4 other people. To be fair it was the day after New Years and like 6 o’clock but still. We noticed after a few minutes that the music was pretty depressing. We switched it up(they have a high-tech jukebox) and that cleared the place out! Lol Service was aight. I was drinkin beers the ladies had some fancy crap which they said was good. I’d be interested to see what the crowd is like on a busier night!

Oh I wish I had a selfie stick. I wish I had the coldest glass of my life. I’d fill it with a beer on tap at 28 West and then take a selfie that went deep. Instead I’m at work, taking a break under fluorescent lamps. 28 West has mood lighting. Seductive blues and mauves. This is where they shot Cocktail, with Tom Cruise(not really, I don’t think). There’s a TouchTune™ jukebox that will play your picks at a very reasonable volume. The service was very accommodating for our big group. We came as a cohort. Cohort 118, to be specific. Cohort is an adopted word(orphaned by the Italian mafia), used to describe a class that sticks together, because it drinks beer together. We are the future of governance for sport. We are the heirs of administrative art. We are bound to annoy the piss out of our constituents with our redundant pedantics(that’s not even a word), and through their squirmy discomfort, they will realize themselves and bloom like the golden lotus. Let us be us. Let us play grab ass like children at the local watering hole. Thanks Erika, for being of service to me in my finest hour, when I know I’ve got to slide out as incognito as possible, when I’ve got to ghost in other words. I wasn’t successful this time. Many hugs were given, several inconsequential things were said(phrases like«for sure» and words like«cool»), but next time I’ll be like a fart in the wind, mark my words.

Since when did the NFL become a gang banging situation? I’ll tell you when, when I walked into this place to watch the game and my girl is sporting a cowboy hat because she is die hard. I was wearing Raider gear but they did not let us in. Whack! Ain’t no one trying to be disrespectful just trying to watch the game with fam but it is what it is. Even in Oakland, in a REAL Raider bar she was welcomed in full on cowboy gear. It’s about the game, nothing else.

28 West Bar & Grill. If you’re a Raiders fan, you’ll love it here. If you’re not, go somewhere else. The crowd is tough and rowdy but given this is a Raiders bar, I guess that’s expected. If you’re not taking advantage of the Happy Menu(i.e. bud light, miller lite, etc), you’re paying too much for a beer and that’s too bad because they have a great selection of craftbeer on tap. If you’re looking for a sports bar, this place looks good at first but falls short of the goal.

Never walked in an gotten kicked out in 5 minutes at ANY bar! Wanted to go catch a game with my family. All of our family are raiders fans. My husband is wearing a niners jersey and I am wearing my packers ugly sweater. Mind you, we are not roudy people… at all! Lol. So… we walk in and see our party of like 15 people and one of the waiters approaches us. «I have bad news… you guys can’t be here with these jerseys…» First off, I knew it was a raiders bar… but didn’t know there was a policy for only raiders gear. I’m a packers fan. This is all I own to wear on a Sunday!!! I have a Brett Favre jersey underneath and wasn’t gonna go home to change. So now this makes me confirm my suspicions… raiders fans are unsportsmanlike rude people. Don’t go to this bar on Sunday’s or might as well make it NEVER!

This is my number one go to spot when I am in Alhambra! This place is a sports bar, and has a great set up and vibe. This is a great place to come watch sporting events, it always gets a good crowd going. My favorite thing about this place is the food. I’ve had a couple different things here, and everything has been good. They have a good taco Tuesday here, all of the tacos are good. I’ve tried carne asada, pork, and chicken street tacos. If you get the taco meal, which comes with 3 tacos, you can get 1 of each type of taco, also comes with chips and salsa, the red salsa is my fav. My favorite taco was the pork, so tender and good. I also tried the crunchy beef taco, which was pretty greasy, but very flavorful. The cheese balls baked or fried(which i don’t think are on the menu) are really yummy. They taste like a cheesy ball of doughy bread. The bacon wrapped shrimp with a side of chipotle sauce was good, and pretty self explanatory. Can you ever really go wrong with bacon? If you are in the mood to be a little healthy, try the kale salad or the green day pizza, which pretty much have the same ingredients(kale and bacon). The salad also comes with chicken which is really flavorful and cherry tomatoes. I had a bite of the Cuban sandwich, which comes with pork, pickle, ham, swiss cheese, mustard on a roll and comes with fries, so good! The Cookie Monster dessert was so good. It is a baked cookie that comes in a skillet with vanilla ice cream on top. Perfect way to end the meal. I got to try the pink kitty martini, it was your perfect girlie drink, sweet and pink. Service has been a bit slow here in the past. My favorite server here is Hinna. She is super sweet, fast, and never gets my order wrong. Great hang out spot, and good food. You really can’t go wrong when ordering here ;)

Checking out a local bar. They had some sort of event tonight, so lot’s of older folks in there, but it seemed pretty chill. Music was a little loud, but it may be due to that event. They have Taco Tuesday, which is a plus and they also had a lot of beers on tap, thumbs up(tacos were ok)!! Overall, If you are local to the area, then this may be a decent little spot to hang for a few beers. If you are a Raiders fan… then this place was built for you!

If you’re a Oakland Raider fan and just want to go see the game with some service and good food this is the place! It’s only a Raiders bar & grill. The service was really good the girl kept coming to check if we were good and the food was good. I would definitely recommend coming to check it out. Also during the commercials they play music like if its a club it’s lots of fun! No drama, no problems, no bad faces!

Items ordered: Beef Empanada, Bacon wrapped shrimp, buffalo wings, fish and chips We were originally in the area to try Hot Red Bus, but it was a hot day, and it was a little too warm in there, so we browsed around the area to find a place to eat. It was a Friday night around 6:30. We first checked out 38 degrees and they said a 45min wait. Then we went to Gen kbbq and they said 1 ½ hours to 2 hour wait! So we went here and there was no wait, so decided to try it out. This place is primarily a bar, they looked all prepared for standing room bar action since there were only barstools out. We had a party of 5 so they brought out some chairs so we could sit around a regular table. Overall the food was pretty decent. Out of the appetizers, the beef empanada was pretty good, the buffalo wings were pretty standard. Since I already had fish and chips on my mind, I ordered their fish and chips. The fish was crispy on the outside, juicy inside. They served some kind of dip on the side that wasn’t tartar sauce, not sure what it was. It was ok, but we asked for regular tartar sauce. Overall, food was pretty decent. As far as the bar, happy hour is from 5−8pm which is nice. I had a guinness from tap which is always a plus when a bar serves guinness. I’d probably give this place a 3 ½ stars.

I’ve only been here once for their Taco Tuesdays and found their tacos to be pretty good. They’re similar to the ones you get from the taco trucks, except you can’t load it up yourself with all the onions, cilantro, and such. I found the service to be attentive and we were rarely left trying to find a waiter to make a request. I would come back on a Tuesday for sure to try out their pizza special sometime.

Minor updates! Came here around 9pm with my «big brother» and was greeted with some new employees! They were very friendly, polite, and attentive! When we walked in, they immediately informed us about some shots on the house by some Malibu hostess girls! They were hot too! So drop by fellas if you want to holla at some hotties and have them serve you some cool light up Malibu shot glasses that you can keep too! They gave my bro a beaded shot glass necklace and I got super jealous that he got one!); Well maybe because he’s a guy… Perks for him this time! Because every time we hit the club. the girls usually get all the good stuff. hahaha Anyways, I usually come here for their Tuesday and Thursday specials with the $ 4 tequila shots and $ 5 Margaritas! I’m not sure what happened to it but it doesn’t exist anymore, and I asked the server about it and she asked her lead or whatever he was if that was still available, she came back and told us that she’ll make it an exception for us. I was quite pleased to hear that! They didn’t have to do that if they changed it on the menu! We would’ve completely understood but it was super nice of them to do that for us! Usually, there’s a DJ there that bumps cool ass music throughout the night but I guess some guidelines has changed here. I’m not fronting. I guess they wanted us to use the music player more often because it is rarely being used and paid for? lol NBD. I got super buzzed with the $ 4 tequila shots and ended up at the music player by the wall, and just started selecting music to play next. It was actually fun listening to music that we like, instead of the usual(boring) music that plays in the background. I like seeing everyone up and enjoying what I chose! It was quite entertaining and amusing since I was already buzzed as heck! haha I just got home,. so i’m still somewhat buzzin’! I hope to come back to this when I wake up and update this(if I can remember more of tonight.) Overall, I love this place to bits and pieces! I’m sure everyone knows, i’m already a regular here. So HOLLAATME! If you ever roll through! You’ll probably see me here with some friends on Tuesday, Thursdays, or weekends most def! I hope all of you have a wonderful night! Sleep well my lovely Unilocalers! ~xoxo~

I kinda stumbled into this place after looking for somewhere to grab drinks and food in the area. Once we walked in my boyfriend and I were quickly seated and it was about 9pm on Saturday. I took note of the atmosphere once I got in and saw a lot of people inside so I thought it must be decent enough to try! Without knowing anything about this place, being new to Alhambra and exploring the scene and all, I thought it was pretty good for what me and my boyfriend were feeling that night. I was a little surprised after reading other reviews about bad service and management, but I didn’t even know this was a sports bar lol. Thankfully we didn’t experience any off-putting service from the waitresses, they actually seemed on top of things. The atmosphere was loud and we were able to enjoy our experience. The only bad part was that we were seated right next to the DJ so my boyfriend and I had to yell the whole time. Not to mention, they played some interesting songs but they also mentioned someone was celebrating their 50th birthday and played some oldies(not sure if these two things are related or if they just don’t play today’s hits). I really enjoyed the drinks we had. I got the Basil berries and the bf got the Skinny Hendrix Martini. They were delicious and if I had to come back here I would just go straight to the bar. We got appetizers such as the nacho fries and fried zucchini, which were good, but on par with most bar food so nothing too special. Bottom line: Good place for drinks.
