Alhambra Smog Center + Uhaul Rentals

I’ve been going to this cat a few years. Take my cars there as well as refer my family & friends. Now I am referring you Unilocalers. The dude that owns & runs the place is a stand up guy. No nonsense. He will tell what is wrong with your car if there’s a problem, (i.e., check engine light) and let you know what to do to get it fixed so you pass. He accepts paper or plastic!

Quick and easy smog check! This was the fastest car service I’ve ever received in my life! The guy who works there is very friendly and doesn’t mind answering questions. It cost me $ 45 for a smog check. Didn’t find a coupon but for the service I received I don’t mind paying the difference!

Moses is the nicest guys you’ll ever meet in the business. I used to hate getting my cars smog checked, but after meeting Moses in 2010, I’ve been going to him ever since and always enjoy the great service and friendly attitude towards customers. He’s someone you know you can trust and has always gone the extra mile to get things done quickly… Even being flexible with his hours when I was in a bind one time. I can’t say enough about the great business he operates. He’s an A++++ in my book.

Smog Check is quick and easy for most cars. This has been here for years. Small smog center.
Reasonable rates and usually not much waiting.
Additionally, I have recently rented UHAUL trucks from the same guy. Pretty receptive and nice guy. Suggests eating next door if hungry, where to park not to get a ticket, what to look for next time.
Simply, always a great experience here.

This is for the Uhaul Rental experience. I would give this place 10 stars if I can! I reserved the truck online first and picked it up at the center. The Gentlemen (I forgot his name) assisted me with a smile and efficient checkout. The reason why this place deserve 10 stars is because I forgot my phone clip in the truck, I called a day later and the gentlemen found it in the truck and held it for me. I didn’t return to the center till 1 month later because of a hectic schedule, but I drove there anyways thinking that the phone clip is possibly tossed out by now. Lucky me the gentlemen that helped me in the first place, kept it in the same place and I got my phone clip back! Will definitely rent from them again if I’m in the area!

Another 2 years passed and I just got back from another Smog Test for the same vehicle. Great and fast service, so once again I had a great experience!!!

This is the place for a smog check! The owner is friendly, fast, but most importantly, HONEST! I’ve brought four cars to him and he’s always been great. My daughter’s VW Beetle had all sorts of lights on, so he did an initial check & then told me it was not gonna pass. Sure enough, my mechanic confirmed it. Again, he could have easily said nothing, failed the car & made money, but he didn’t. That’s a class act & someone you want to do business with!

What a fantastic place! In and out in a pinch, we’re talking 15 minutes and there is a good book on American Art to read while your waiting. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about cars, already recommended this place to a friend.

This was my first time ever doing a smog check. But my impression of this place was pretty good. The technician was super nice and was able to complete the inspection in about 20 mins. The cost was $ 40 which already included the $ 5 discount.
Overall, great first experience and great service. I’d come back again next year.

5 Stars for a smog check place? Sure, why not. I pulled up in my mother’s car and was the only customer. The guy there is friendly and gave me some info on the car and its PZEV status, and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Its also a U-​Haul rental place which offers trucks, trailers, vans, and other services.
It’s a small place easily passed by if not looking for it, and is located in a residential area. However if a wait does occur a good Mexican restaurant and bar is right next door, as is a very popular Italian place. A bit more walking (but not much) will also find a more casual Mexican place to the east, a donut shop for coffee, a Walgreen’s for shopping, and even a Curve’s if you’re a member and so inclined. Like motorcycles? A large BMW motorcycle dealership is right across the street. Go a couple blocks north and another Italian restaurant and bar is located on the corner of Alhambra Rd and Huntington Drive, as well as a 99 Cent Store and liqueur store. So while you wait you can have a bite to eat, a drink to drink, or a donut to eat. Hell, have all three! Just not too much to drink as you’ll be driving again soon.

I am fortunate to have found this place.

Excellent service all around, I can’t emphasize how pleased I was with my truck rental. I had a very short notice to move furniture and needed a moving truck for the next day. At first I called Budget truck in Alhambra on Atlantic (that deserves its own review really) which was horrible. Budget told me they couldn’t guarantee my truck even with a reservation. What does the word reservation mean to them?!
So then I called this place and spoke with someone named Caleb, who was so very helpful. Within minutes I had my guaranteed reservation. When I went to pick it up I met Moses, who I assume is the owner. He was very friendly and professional! The best part was that they allow the truck to be dropped off after hours, so I didn’t have to worry about being charged an extra day.
I would definitely come here next time I need to rent a uhaul.

$ 45 smog check out the door. No coupon needed. Fast friendly service. The area is nice to walk around in too if you don’t want to wait in the waiting room.
